This Player So Important To Newcastle This Season

Newcastle have been lacking in fire-power up front ever since Demba Ba left Newcastle in January to join Chelsea for £7M, and the Senegal striker has now found himself on the bench this season at Stamford Bridge.

loic remy

Loic Remy – OK – I finally arrived

And since Ba left,  Newcastle found it very difficult to score goals in the second half of last season,  and Papiss Cisse was all too often isolated up front, all on his lonesome.

Newcastle’s top transfer targets this summer were strikers, and if you believed what Joe Kinnear and Alan Pardew were saying over the summer months, it seemed we were going to get two strikers though the door.

But we didn’t, to the disappointment of Newcastle fans, and we got one player in on loan for the season, but that player is Loic Remy, and he could ve very special for Newcastle this season, and if Loic  has a good season, then Newcastle will have a good season too.

And certainly since he signed on, Loic has come across great in the interviews he has given, and Alan Pardew has said the 26 year-old has quickly settled in,  and is already popular in the dressing room.

The Newcastle fans have also forgiven him for joining QPR in late January, when it looked almost certain he would sign for Newcastle – but everybody makes mistakes in life. 😀

And when Loic was introduced after 75 minutes on the game against Fulham almost two weeks ago, the fans gave the Frenchman a great welcome – and that was good to see.

It’s really a great opportunity for Loic to show what he can do in a back and white shirt, and there’s little doubt he is the key man for Newcastle this season.

Go score those goals Loic.

What do you think?

Deeply sorry, but are we in division two? I must have experienced a time slip. Can’t figure out why a club of NUFC’s status will have to rely on a loannie

yep this lad will get us in the 11th-8th position when without him i doubt we would.

unfortunatly he’s not ours and at the end of the season he will go back to play for qpr or be sold to someone else for a higher value then we will pay 🙁

He’s class but I can’t get my head round that we lose him at the end of the season. The only work Kinnear has done and he screws it up in not including an option to buy in the deal! What a joke!

I hope he scores a ton of goals and we sign him permanently in January.

A crucial player for us now. Most of the goals may have to come from him. Not clear what’s going to happen to Cisse. Krul, Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Sissoko, Colo, and Mbiwa are the other crucially important players in the side. If they stay healthy we may end up in mid table. I like Elliot as well. He shows real promise.

Krul is our most important player, as he will be the busiest, Remy will become important if Pardew ever works out on how to play decent attacking football.

Whats Di Canio doing at Harpers Testimonial, its not even remotely funny giving the balloon more self publicity opportunities. Total Ballooooooonnnn…

I’m not saying the debts were deliberately hidden from. Just meant they weren’t immediately apparent.

    B and B
Nufc is a separate legal entity. Mikey has invested by way of equity and loan. Thus nufc owes mikey 100m +. Nufc would be much better off if he had gifted the money to the club and not loaned it. If he had mikey would be in the same position but the club would be better off.

The players that have turned out at Harpers testimonial only goes to show how far this club has gone backwards, more there for Harpers testimonial than for the next PL home game probably. Sickening really. Guess what, I bet our owner hasn’t shown up.

The club has no soul, a shell of a football club. Biggest disgrace in football for me.

Well done everyone who got there tonight, would have loved to have attended but couldn’t get the time off work. Nice one harps, good luck with hull as well. Remember watching them train at maiden castle, public allowed in to watch, players signing autographs afterwards great great days.
Now the players all think they’re something special, get back in the real world and get the public in again, engage with your public

“Newcastle are bleeding. If that isn’t addressed, if the wound is not allowed to heal, whatever is special about the club is in danger of dying.
“The fans make the club tick, but they feel detached from it. Whenever the club has done well over, the fans have been on board. They have been fully behind their team, their club.
“I think their loyalty has been tested far too often in recent years. It’s one of the great clubs, but it should be competing amongst the very best in Europe.
Steve Harper says it pretty well doesn’t he? Pay attention Mike and you might learn something. Then do something about it.

Just watched the videos of the players coming out tonight. How many of the current crop will get a reception like that in 10 or 15 years I wonder? I think Shola and Saylor will actually be well remembered because they are local one-club lads who have done the best they could but other than that…Krul maybe? Colo?

I hope the current players were at the match to see the fantastic passion for the club and for great players.

Also loved to see Di Canio playing the role of pantomime villain!

He cared about Newcastle United. He might have been a nasty piece of work but I for one would have someone of his ilk in the squad in a heartbeat. He could pass a ball, was tough in a challenge and was a vocal leader in the squad.
