Remy And Cabaye Both Start At Villa Park

aston villanufc emblem

The Newcastle team has just been announced and both Loic Remy and Yohan Cabaye start, but Vurnon Anita also keeps his place in the side, but Shola Ameobi doesn’t even make the bench for the game today.

And as expect Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa keeps his place in central defense, even though Steven Taylor had served his three match ban for getting sent off at Manchester City in the first game of the season.

And there’s no sign of Jonas Gutierrez, even on the bench, and we had assumed he had recovered from his injury and was available for today’s game.

Local lad Paul Dummett also makes the bench for today’s game and there’s a lot of senior Newcastle players not in the match day squad of 18 today.

Newcastle will also play in a 4-3-3 formation, with the front men being Ben Arfa,  Papiss Cisse and Loic Remy, and it’s good to see Anita keep his place after some very tidy performances for Newcastle so far this season.

It’s a tough game today, but if Newcastle can play somewhere near their best form and the defense is solid, we should be able to get something at Villa Park this afternoon.

A win would be great,  but a point would also be very decent.

Howay The Lads!!

Teams:

Aston Villa (4-3-3): Brad Guzan; Matthew Lowton, Ron Vlaar (c), Jores Okore, Antonio Luna; Karim El Ahmadi, Ashley Westwood, Fabian Delph; Gabriel Agbonlahor, Christian Benteke, Andreas Weimann
Substitutes: Jed Steer, Ciaran Clark, Yacouba Sylla, Aleksandar Tonev, Leandro Bacuna, Nicklas Helenius, Libor Kozak

Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Paul Dummett, Steven Taylor, Cheick Tiote, Sylvain Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi, Yoan Gouffran

It seems that Pardew has bought himself a pair of balls off ebay during the international break

Superb team, hope the players do the business, this team is a top 7 side, if we get a draw then move on to Hull next week and tear them a new one.

At last a team picked on form and ability.

4 – 3 – 3 according to the official twitter. Actually quite surprised to see this line up. I thought anita would be an automatic drop for cabaye especially after pards had been gushing over cabs all week.

    Class team.

Toonbrother you are clearly retarded as all you do is pick up on the odd mistake Colo makes when in fact he is a top quality CB anyone who knows anything about football can clearly see this. Vidic and Kompany make mistakes!!

Good attacking team but I can see Agbonlahor and Weimann tearing Santon and Debuchy new ones today with their pace.

Anyone heard from the TUFF guy recently?

Initial formation is irrelevant as this starting line up is flexible and will allow tactical tweaking of formation without any subs during the game – if needed.
Hope Remy is match fit enough for at least 75 mins.
This is probably out top starting 11 so be interesting to see how well they play against another mid table side

Pards likes stability in his starting side and I hope sticks with this 11 to allow them to gel and play off each other.
