Newcaste Now Need To Make A Good Recovery

We watched the Manchester derby this afternoon, and that first half looked almost exactly like the first game of the season when City were all over Newcastle, but this time City were all over the champions Manchester United.

alan pardew wonga

Alan Pardew – must make good recovery from very poor result

At half time it was 2-0, as in the Newcastle game,  and after 86 minutes it was 4-0, but Wayne Rooney scored a great goal from a free kick late in the game to make it 4-1 – but Manchester United didn’t play the second half with 10 men like Newcastle did.

So when Manchester City are at their best which they were against Newcastle and the Red Devils today, they are a formidable side.

After that terrible defeat on that first game of the season, Newcastle drew  one and won two  of their next three league games, and beat Morecambe in the Capital One Cup.

And then came  a very poor defensive display yesterday, and we lost 3-2 to Hull at home, and it was a very poor result for Newcastle – a shocking result

But as we’ve seen this season,  even the top teams have had their off days, and now it’s up to Newcastle to learn from what happened yesterday,  and come storming back and try to get a win on Wednesday night in the Capital One Cup against Leeds United.

Our next two league game are at Everton a week tomorrow nigh, and at Cardiff City on the following Saturday.

Those are two tough games before the International break, and we hope we can get something out of both those games.

But good teams do come back following adversity – so we’ll get a chance to see if Newcastle are indeed a good side this  season.

What do you think?

the key to seeing improvement against everton will be down to weather pardew uses this game midweek against leeds as the chance for our yougsters and subs to show a threat to our current starting 11

    my team would be this

    ____________Elliot____
    santon_mbiwa/colo_willo__dummett

    _________anita/tiote

    HBA/marvo__gosling____Sammy
    ______goufran/cambell__remy.

remy and anita are the two who deserve to keep their place
if santon and dummett were both playing on the same back 4 then santon will know he has his position underthreat as will debuchy.

another thing that I see in a team like that one is the determination from the likes of willo and gosling and passion from the likes of Sammy maybe even a bit leadership from him.

Wonder how long Pardew has left ? Hull City was a missed opportunity for three safe points. Everton are a decent side and Cardiff are grafters. I reckon the results of these games will have a bearing on Pardew’s future !

I reckon if we get beat off Everton and Cardiff that might send alarm bells ringing and Pardew might get sacked

well we can see sunderland going down themselves with the manager merry go round the boro are in the championship. it will be lonely for us with this stability.
might as well get a manager merry go round going ourselves since that got us relegated last time and JFK is ready and waiting to take that job and well their is PDC ready for a new juob so could be his assistant.

Did any 1 else see pards reaction to Debs coming off he talked to him for about 3 mins I hope he has said that was your last chance we will look to replace you in Jan with Byram lol. I hope Pards wakes up and gives the kids a chance to show what they can do Dummet, Tavs if fit, Streete, Bigi, Campbell amd also Obertan on the left his pace will cause loads of problems might even prove they r ready to step up my team for Everton would be

    GK Krul
    RB Anita,Tavs if fit
    CB Colo/Taylor
    CB Mbiwa
    LB Santon/Dummet
    DM Sissoko
    DM Tiote/Bigi
    ACM Cabs if fit/Marv
LFW Remy/Goofy/Obertan his pace with remy is scary?
CF Remy/Goofy/Campbell if he plays well at leeds?
    RFW Ben-Arfa/Goofy/Obertan?

Cisse and debs don’t deserve to to be in the first team don’t know why cisse has changed so much since his first 14 games but he is really annoying to watch I dreamt all my life to wear the shirt and play infront of the best fans and he is waisting his chance no effort at all as for Debs he might have been a good RB if we signed him 2-3yrs ago but he has lost his pace and can’t keep up with the english game normally id give them 1-2 seasons to settle but I dont see any improvement since joining us we need a new RB plus give Tavs a chance he is 21-22 now and sign Byram or someone else of that age?

I like your front 3 for the game against everton

HBA/remy/obatan/Sammy could be the perfect set up

it could even be that we play all 4 and they have anita and tiote or bigi as the other two CM who’s main focus could be the defence because we do have a very weak defence at the minute.

toonking That was what I was thinking we need to give the def more support we need 2 holding players to break up play and start the move forward Tiote needs more games to get back to his best him and Sissoko would mix it up good allowing our creative players to concentrate on scoring and creating chances

I did post an article ealier today which proves even the players themselves are not suited to this league.

sissoko himself said that this league is a much more fast and threating league that the French one.

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/8931824/moussa-sissoko-thinks-the-premier-league-is-more-tactical-and-exciting-than-ligue-1

the amount of times I think pardew was blamed for the teams performances being good one half and a poor half was more likely down to the players themselves the second half of last season 5 of our starting 11 were from that league not sure if tiote or cisse were also from it.

Debuchey and Santon obviously have to pick their moments to bomb on, but equally the others have to slot in and maintain the shape of the side when they do. I think Debuchey was badly let down by others yesterday, and not just Benny, as much as his own poor decision making.

Even so, last thing we want is to now go back into our shell. We have the players to play this more expansive, attacking style. We need to keep working on it, but I hope we don’t rein it in too much. If we had attacked as a tighter unit we could well have won 3-2 in a thrilling game, not lost it. Which really is what football should be all about to me, goals at either end, entertainment and victories for the Toon.

toonking Tiote was from Twente in holland and Cisse Frieberg Germany m8 both seemed to settle quickly but have struggled to keep up there performances over a season even our great Benny stuggles to play well every game it needs to be looked at if its the players then replace them with UK talent ie Ince, Rhodes, Hanley, Maguire, Byram, Hughes, Cresswell, all will move on if we pay the right price and r all young and will only get better

I think Debs is not realising that he gets targeted or that he is simply being lazy in jumping back to position after we counter. Similar to Santon over the past 2 seasons. Debs has played like this for a long time, obviously Pards still has work to do with him. But in saying that Debs is a full international with CL experience, obviously there is either miscommunication, arrogance or all of the above!
Agree on Byram, Pards will get a real good look at him in the upcoming cup game, perhaps he will play Santon at LB. If he does we are definitely either interested or worried about him.
Agree on Obertan, we need to see him take on the opposition players but with not even making the bench recently, his confidence would be at an all time low though and he is a confidence player. It would have been very difficult to move him on in the Summer.

Sydney Toon I think Obertan needs a pat on his back when he plays well or a lollipop ie he is a big kid needs a cuddle and he will come good his pace will get him in behind defences lots of times he plays best on the left like in europe cisse needs a kick in backside drop him and play Remy through the middle and we score more goals
