Dummett, Sammy Ameobi, Krul, Tiote And Gouffran Start

The team has just been announced for tonight’s game against Leeds United in the Capital One Cup.

There are as many as six changes from the side that was beaten by Hull City on Saturday, and Academy graduates Sammy Ameobi and Paul Dummett both get a start.

Coloccini will lead the team out tonight and he will be partnered in central defense by Mike Williamson, who will be making a rare start for the team.

Cheick Tiote also gets a start and it looks like the formation is a 4-2-3-1, and Papiss Cisse also gets a chance to get on the goal trail tonight for the first time this season.

Newcastle need a win tonight to advance to the last 16 of this competition, and that will  also set us up for a result next Monday night at Everton.

Howay The Lads!!

Newcastle United (4-2-3-1): Tim Krul; Mathieu Debuchy, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Paul Dummett; Vurnon Anita, Cheick Tiote; Sylvain Marveaux Yoan Gouffran, Sammy Ameobi; Papiss Cisse

Tiote is a player if he plays tonight needs to perform and set an example

He needs to dominate their midfield and not be a fanny and get sent off ! its about time he started performing to become “best DMF in the premiership” as so many people on here call him

If Cabaye is not match fit he should not start against Everton because thats going to be a battle

Thats actually a pretty good line up although I hope its Marveux in the no 10 role behind Cisse as opposed to on the wing in a 442 !

the line up today is 50-50

goods Sammy dummett and some seniours

bads cisse and remy not even on the bench

overall this has got to be the final straw for cisse and if he still doesn’t make much effort then it is a clear reason for remy to replace him if Sammy goufran or marvo show some decent play.

Cisse has had enough chances – last chance saloon before a bench period.

Hoping for a win but if Leeds are up for it we could have problems if our boys aren’t.

    maths is my subject

I was saying it where cisse was starting but remy is not even on the bench

so his last chance should be now because if he still doesn’t score he deserves to be dropped why else does pardew not even have remy benched.

A defeat would put Percy Parsnip under pressure again. Still, what is pressure when there is a 10 million pay off at the end of it? He is probably relishing the sack to escape the nonsense at our club.

The spotlight is well and truly on Tioté and Cisse to perform. If they don’t, there’s a beautiful spot on the bench just waiting for them.

What a disgrace of a club NUFC have become. Saying not bothered about Cups.

I guess with Pardew’s dismal record in cups this is the club backing him even more.

I’m actually surprised that Good isn’t in the starting lineup, Toon-Barmy; I thought he put a bloody good display on against Morcombe. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll be a step up for the lad but I’d like to see him tested against a club like Leeds.

NUFC have not become a disgrace! It’s just very disappointing that the owners don’t understand the glory of winning a trophy and are more focused on the club making money. Sad state of modern football and they’re not the only club to think like that…

NUFC is more than the owners and directors and always will be. You can be sure the manager, players, other staff and fans are bothered about winning a cup!
