Newcastle Draw Manchester City At Home In League Cup

Well, would you believe it we got a home draw, but it’s against Manchester City in the round of the last 16 in the Capital One Cup.

Its not a good draw for Newcastle given there are still Championship teams like Burnley, Birmingham and Leicester left in the competition, but once again Newcastle draw a top side in the Capital One Cup, a side we never do well against.

But there will be a huge crowd at St. James’ Park for this game, and we’re sure our lads will go for it – and on the positive side of things – it’s time we beat City – we’re due a win against them. 😀

Here is the full draw:

Manchester United v Norwich City
Newcastle United v Manchester City
West Bromwich Albion / Arsenal v Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur v Hull City
Burnley v West Ham United
Birmingham City v Stoke City
Sunderland v Southampton
Leicester City v Fulham

Not trying to be negative, but it wouldn’t matter who we get. We don’t want to win a cup, and we will not win a cup in the foreseeable future.

as for our team well it might be the worst one but i will just wait and see when it kicks off.

    1 we are at home
2 Cardiff beat city 3-2 this year
3 wigan won it last year against these in the final
4 the have got cska Moscow and Chelsea A which are two games with much more importance

Surely we’d have a dip if we somehow found ourselves in the quarters of one.

Anyhoo, City at home’s a good game. Can’t put out a weak side and risk getting lumped seven shades a shite at home. Surely even Ash wouldn’t have that.

Is it just me but since this competition changed its name to the Capital One Cup, or COC for short, it has become less attractive.
Much prefer the “The League Cup”

I have little faith in our fringe players, Obertan, Williamson, Gosling, simply are not good enough. Very few of our younger players are making the grade either.

We should have a stronger squad, but we don’t, and as such, it is seen, not along by me, but by the club as well that we would be under relegation threat if we tried to attack the cups.

This isn’t my opinion, this is the opinion of the club. So what you should be asking is, does the club rate our fringe and younger players?

    Manx

I wasn’t commenting on the game itself, I was commenting on the general state of our squad. One game doesn’t make our poor players good.
