Newcastle Winger – I Came To Play – I Will Give 100%

Yoan Gouffran is a good player who was a signed for around £2M in January, and he scored Newcastle’s second goal in the 2-0 win at home to Leeds United last night in the Capital One Cup.

Yoan Gouffran – played well last night

Yoan was a regular starter last season, but he has been on the bench most of the time so far this season, but that hasn’t stopped him from scoring two good goals for Newcastle, and he has looked good again this term.

This is what the 27 year-old former French U21 International had to say today:

“We want to get out there and try to win some silverware,” “That’s what we’ll do – we want to get as far as we can.”  “I’m very happy – it was a nice goal to score.”

“It was my first home goal at St James’s Park, so I’m really chuffed. It was an important goal.”  “That’s why I’m here – I came to play,”   “Last season I started every match.”

“This season it’s been a bit more difficult, but I’m not giving up.”  “I will go out and give 100%.”

Yoan has so far played 22 times for Newcastle with 5 goals, and when younger he played 22 times for the France U21 side, and if he can get back to starting for this Newcastle side, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he could even be called up for the full France squad.

But fist things first, and the former Caen and Bordeaux player wants to get a starting place again for Newcastle United, and given what Yoan has looked like this season – we wouldn’t put it past him.

What do you think?

Since when was Gouffran a winger like Ed 🙂 ? .

The only striker we currently have that I would play on the wing is Remy as he actually has skills and can beat a man with skill not just pace . Gouffran waylays played through the middle for Bordeaux .

    Thanks mate.

I really don’t get the JFK thing. I get that MA wanted someone he can trust, but he has needed a senior person at the club who understands how to run a football club since he bought it! JFK isn’t that man!

I think Ashley us an arrogant t*ssp*t but at least he’s done some good things at the club.

The problem is, I can’t see him selling soon and I can’t see a small group of fans calming down either. Good results will make things better but sadly I think there will always be friction while Ashley is owner.

There are always areas to improve. IMO we have a better than average squad, an average PL manager, slightly better than average infrastructure and a frugal owner.

We all know that we want more for the club, the question is the best way to get it.

This is speculation but i watch the matches with my dad and this bloke always joins us. I dont even no his name but he knows alot about newcastle. Anyway his son is in the acadamy as a gk and hes been asking coaches about the board and the coaches said an american firm is interested in buying us but ashley is holding out for his asking price. But i would assume this to b false although i would love it to b true. But im waiting to get called a lier off other bloggers but im prepared LOL

I’m not calling you a liar but it’s a bit like “my friends girlfriend’s cousins’s plumber said…” Even if true, of course Ashley is going to hold out for the asking price, why shouldn’t he?

Our players and our club will be sold if MA gets the right offer. Otherwise, there’s no reason to sell.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more reports on Mike’s romance and his lifelong battle with nipple chafing. It’s serious. I thought I had better re-post this as it is a chronic condition with Mike.

A full first team for me against Man City in the cup. No stand-ins. Let’s take it seriously and see how we do. An attacking formation from the start. Good passing football, no hoofball, and no dithering in our own half.
