Who Was Newcastle’s Best Player In 2-1 Win At Cardiff?

Newcastle went some way to getting back on track in the league with a very good 2-1 win at Cardiff City Stadium this afternoon, and it was two brilliant goals from – you guessed it – Loic Remy in that first half that gave Newcastle all three points.

Cardiff City v Newcastle United - Premier League

Loic Remy scores his first for Newcastle after 30 minutes

Newcastle were dominant in the first 45 minutes, but we missed three or four gilt edged chances before Remy scored, but in the second half Cardiff came back and Peter Odemwingie scored a simple goal after 58 minutes, but the lads held out for the win, and we had a good appeal for a penalty turned down in the seocnd half.

But it’s exactly what the Doctor ordered for Newcastle as we go to 10 points from 7 games =- not too bad.

Note to Joe Kinnear – get Remy signed up as soon as possible.

shades of reading there, goes defensive halfway through the second half taking our best player off.
a desperately needed win that i think will make a difference come the end of the season.
we still need a game where we score freely because the goal difference is still poor, unfortunately we have liverpool, sunderland, man city and chelsea. i predict 1 point and an early cup exit.

Remy. He made the first and finished a difficult chance with the second. Both great goals.

    Cabaye a close 2nd though.

didnt see that but certainly saw him hobbling off the pitch and for 10 minutes before he was subbed. Gee he must have been faking it.

Have to say Remy – at last – very cool finisher
Quite happy with that, battered them quite a lot of the game – and at least Cisse is in the right areas of pitch to have a go . .

the late rally was to be expected. I stand by my assertion that Colocinni is a liability in central defence but I’m really impressed with our performance today.

some can’t stand it when their negative opinion of Pardew is challenged.

Now to watch ManU waste Sunderland.

    Next games:

    Liverpool (H)
    Sunderland (A)
    Man City (H) (League Cup)
    Chelsea (H)
    Tottenham (A)

I predict 1/2 points (Sunderland/Chelsea) and -8 to the goal difference.

Cabaye was my motm, did very little wrong him and tiote paired up together well for the first time in ages. Remy was good but with Cabaye’s vision that second goal never existed.

actually I said that. Of course some booed, they didn’t see it.

I clearly saw him grimacing on one of Cardiff’s corner kicks and limping in the penalty area. Sorry if that upsets you.

@Ameobi that second goal was on Remy’s back not cabayes you fool, he followed it up to finish it.Most players would have walked away and the ball would have just went to a defender he didn’t stop.

5 points clear of the relegation zone and 3 points behind CL qualification. Yet some people still complain.

Time to get behind the team. Also time to appreciate we do have some depth.

willo a close second for me ok he misjudged there goal but he shouldn’t even have been out there and nearly stopped it in the end but wat a change it is to see someone attack a ball in the air
with mbwia n collo we are very easy to attack imo

Pardew is to be congratulated on picking a brave team, choosing brave substitutions, and bravely going for a win at a difficult place to win. I thought we would lose, and once again was wrong. But in the end my feeling was that we didn’t have the players to win more convincingly. It all started to go wrong when we took off Remy and it got worse once Cabaye went off, and that is surely the problem at our club. Pardew knows our best team, he knows when to deploy our most talented playmaker, and when the players who are left are knackered or injured or suspended he is short of options. That’s not his fault.

he just got a call up, was on a hat trick, then got injured. Get it through your head man. Even if he wanted that hat trick more than anything he was INJURED. Pards had every right to sub him.

Though I would have preferred Sammy or Hatem to come on I will say that. How Jonas can get the nod over Sammy I just don’t know.
