There’s a danger that under Mike Ashley’s strategy. Newcastle will never become a big club to go up against the top six clubs in England, and that’s because Mike just doesn’t seem willing to spend the money required to make Newcastle into a top team.
Mike Ashley – not ambitious enough for Newcastle fans
That’s not to say we haven’t brought in some very good players while Ashley has been the owner, but there have been too many times that we haven’t gone for it.
And we’ve failed to get our targets because of say a million pounds or even less than that, and we may have been too stubborn in refusing to pay a little bit more for a top target.
But we now have a decent squad, and it will be even stronger if we can nail down a certain Loic Remy to a permanent contract in January, although in our poll pm this, 63% don’t think we will be successful in signing this top striker.
Maybe the solution is to somehow persuade Mike Ashley to spend all of Newcastle profits on the club. in terms of new players, and investing into the training facilities. the Youth Academy and the Scouting Network, which to be fair has become a lot stronger than it used to be.
And we know there are groups who want Ashley out – but he will simply not sell – and be careful for what you ask for – and he already knows he’s not popular with Newcastle fans, and probably never will be.
Vincent Tan – Cardiff owner
After all. we could get a new owner like as one example – Cardiff City owner – Malaysian Vincent Tan – who took over earlier in the year.
And he immediately changed the famous blue strips of the Bluebirds to red – which is a popular color in Asia, and the new owner wants to call them the Dragons (can they still be called the Bluebirds?) – and he thinks the reason Cardiff were promoted was because of the lucky red strip he introduced.
If we get an owner from Asia – as one example – maybe he’ll change the strips to red and white stripes. and call us the Red Devils, and that sounds almost as bad as the Black Cats.
Then what would we do? 😀
Let’s hope the lads can shock us on Saturday and beat Liverpool, we are still positive that Newcastle can do well this season.
What do you think?
Comments welcome.

Comment #2Maybe, just maybe, if people could be arsed to walk a few hundred yards in a dignified protest, instead of taking cheap shots at the man’s shape, he might see something in us he can respect?

Nope, totally wrong – we’ll be the best at being mediocre!
Now there’s ambition, we’ll show the so-called top six!!

Comment #4I would not say the players are mediocre but the management and infrastructure we have in place are definately mediocre at best. 5 year plan-mediocre. Buying young talent to sell for a profit- mediocre. Being reduced to signing loan players rather than buying players- definately 100% mediocre

Comment #5Fine, take the high road BandB. And here’s me trying to set you up with a lovely lad to go out with. And the pop-out preventers will not ruin the lines of the new sports thong at all mates. You get the same magnificent view ladies.

Comment #6It’s an selfish act to tell others to back and support Mike Ashley. The young fans understood there’s still a big chance to see the team finally win a cup someday in their life, but they ignore the fact that the old one probably don’t have many years left to see this happening, especially under the current owner.
Face it, if you’re at the age of 70+ and have been supporting the team in your entire life, Mike Ashley is one owner you wouldn’t want to see anywhere near your club. No stability, no ambition, no investment, mistakes after mistakes and treat fans like fool.
Fans is the biggest asset of the club.

Comment #7Chubby Checker Ashley is a waste of space, he loves to be mentioned in the press.
he creates issue’s so he is mentioned, any press is good press, thats his business man mentality, he feels anytime he is mentioned SD is not far behind in a mention, free publicity, much like the free Publicity he gets from taring SD all over St James’, yes we all know apparently that is ‘Free’ space he is using so he does not pay.
Mr Miagy (yes he cut have a striking ressemblance) on the other hand is just about as Crazy as a box of Frogs, this guy changed their strips, badge and is looking to name them the cadiff city Dragon’s? bloody hell. he thinks he’s Playing Sensible Soccer

Comment #8mediocre is exactly what Ashley wants us to be. Ambition costs money and all he wants is a premiership club where he can advertise his company on the tele and in the ground.
I was at the newcastle academy on Sunday watching my nephew play and even there where the average crowd on a sunday is about 200 parents watching three games, all you can see is sports direct and Wonga advertising hoardings right round the facility.
That’s all he wants…free TV advertising and ground advertising for his business’…he’s not interested in being successful

Comment #9I think now would be an appropriate time to think of our beloved owner. Mike has just had a serious clothing malfunction on a first date. I think we should now take a moment to reflect on this and how he might feel….Ahem…..Is everyone reflecting?

Comment #11I think if some of you on here would approach our discussions with the same level of seriosity as I do then we would make far more progress. Those of you with frivolous attitudes should now be thinking about it. You know who you are Ibiza. Take another moment to reflect. There now, what do you have to say for yourself?

Ahhhh….. who are we playing again? Oh yes Liverpool. We will crush them between our collective toes. Like French grapes in wine making season. They don’t stand a chance.

Comment #18In a way it’s fitting that the club have local lad Stevie Taylor seen as some sort of local hero of the club, there both very similar
Both he and the club had the potential to really go to the top, but through ego and a sense of self entitlement both are merely stagnating have failed to reach the potential because they would rather believe there own hype than give that extra 10% to really push on….

Comment #19tads @18 that’s very true. I’ve been disappointed with Saylor’s lack of progress for some time now. I wonder what Pardew makes of it? Perhaps his sports thong is too tight? jimBOB I’m still watching you.

Comment #22you think Padew would be able to get the best out of people like Taylor, I mean he is one of the guy’s he can actually have a coversation with.
I think when it comes to Taylor he wants to be a hard man, he will never be a hard man because well……….he isnt hard. he gets caught out to much,
I still think he is capable of pulling off an oustanding performance now and again. he just lets it get to his head.

Comment #28Mr Tuff – You have no need to contemplate justifying your actions as your name was not mentioned or listed by anyone. You were sucked in by the mischief makers. The period of your posts to me were always provoking and enjoyable- like claiming that maybe you should give the missus a run out to see Lincoln.
Everything is relative particularly when considering the Andrew Mitchell stitch up-. LOL

Comment #29I would be happy to change the strip, everything changes. What’s the alternative sail along with Ashley watching a mediocre team win the odd game in 4. I’d take a reckless spender and win something over this current shambles.
I’m not much of a traditionalist, ill roll with the changes if it means winning the premiership.

Comment #31We’re a small step above a championship side with about 4 players with enough quality to keep us up. In fact if it wasn’t for Remy and his goals we would be in the bottom three and be probably relegated come the end of the season.
People expect to much from our squad. Mash can’t understand what’s going on because he hasn’t got a f…ing clue.
Our aim is to stay in the premier league. Not alot to be excited about to be honest it’s just a bonus when we win a game.

Comment #35Off subject but I wonder if anybody else saw the quote from Pardew- “We looked at taking Townsend on loan but decided he was no improvement on what we already had”.
I hope the stupid man has watched the last two England games and realised what a useless waste of space he is comimg out with comments like that.
More likely too thick to realise it
