All Of Alan Shearer’s 206 Goals For Newcastle – Video

5:56 pm, Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013 by Ed Harrison · 7 Comments

We had some quotes from Alan Shearer this morning about the upcoming derby game against Sunderland, and maybe some of the younger fans don’t know just how good (make that great – no make that fantastic) a player Alan Shearer was for for both Newcastle United and England, after he joined us from Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2006 for £15M – cheap at the price.

If you have a short 26 minutes to spare – look at all the goals Alan scored for the Magpies – there’s some really fantastic goals this man scored, and he’s one player who really earned his big wages on Tyneside, and if  nothing else you can keep this video for when Newcastle lose a game – and you can cheer yourself up. :D

obsessed with stats…sounds like sky these days

talking about passes, distance ran, pass % , all this rubbish….

like somebody tweeted into sky a couple years ago when chelsea beat barca 1-0…”barca had 80% of the possession but chelsea had 100% of the goals”….made my night

That’s the beauty with football. The best team doesn’t always win, possession doesn’t mean shots, shots don’t mean on target and on target shots don’t mean goals. What counts is goals and only goals.

It’s frustrating talking about a ‘fair’ result but I’d rather do that than talk about stats…

so lets talk about stats… 100% of the time, stats tell you 50% of the story :)

i like it when pundits use one or two stats to say a side dominated when they don’t look at the closely

possesion in final third is much more important than own third for example

also some places have different stats somehow…remember one of our games last year where bbc had us down as 60% possession and sky had 50%….how does that happen.

It’s great when stats can back up your point, but annoying when they are your whole point…

Football is about goals and goals can come from a variety of ways. American Football is all about analysing the stats to decide the plays to gain the yards to provide the opportunity for a touchdown. Basketball is all about everyone doing their job to accumulate the points. Baseball is about everyone doing their specific job and the battle between pitcher and hitter.

I like that the left back can hit a screamer from 30 yards to win a game or the manager can bring on a 17 years old kid up front who scores the winning goal.

Anyone else think that they just witnessed an exorbitant amount of penalties? We certainly don’t get those anymore.
