Newcastle United are are reported to be interested in MK Dons’ highly-rated 17 year-old teenager Dele Alli (full name – Bamidele Jermaine Alli), who has already played 17 times for the Dons with four goals since making his debut as a sixteen year-old in November of 2012 for his home town club.
Dele Alli – MK Dons’ 6″2″ midfielder – Newcastle interested
Newcastle are always after good youngsters, and especially English players like Dele, since Alan Pardew has made a point of asking Joe Kinnear, the Director of Football, to get him more British based players.
But Dele has been hampered by a number of injuries, and he is currently out with a ruptured ankle ligament for up to eight weeks.
The 6’2″ youngster is still growing, and the news is that Joe Kinnear is interested in signing the England U17 International (9 caps) in the January transfer window.
Not surprisingly the MK Dons manager Karl Robinson speaks highly of the youngster:
“I’ve seen him do things in training that I’ve never seen before. He scores goals, he wins penalties, back heels, nutmegs, driving inside, winning headers and tackles,” “He’s got an air of arrogance and confidence about him. He’s one of the best young players in England – fact.”
The time to bring in top youngsters is when they are still undiscovered, , although there’ s always a risk they will not make it at Newcastle, and that’s happened too many times over the last six years, when top young players have been signed, but they just haven’t made it on Tyneside for one reason or another.
Newcastle could probably get this lad for about £250K, if we are really interested.
