It came up during the Alan Pardew’s news conference yesterday, that there was a photo going around of Pope Francis, who is an avid supporter of San Lorenzo, holding a Sunderland shirt.
What?
Is this Sunderland’s new signing?
Alan hadn’t seen the photo (shown above), but said that he would need to talk to Coloccini, who had met the Pope last summer, when the head of the Catholic Church was introduced to the Argentina side.
Just a thought – does this mean God is on Sunderland’s side tomorrow?
Hope not. 😀
And news a day or two ago that the Pope is starting a cricket team in the Vatican, as he shows he is a real sports fan.
Pope Francis seems like a terrific person, and so humble and he’s always talking about the poor and destitute, just like his namesake St. Francis of Assisi.
But I’ll have to stop there, since I’m getting into religion – wonder if the Pope will watch the game on TV tomorrow?
Comments welcome.

Comment #1The Pope is supposedly an intelligent man – in which case there is no possible way he would be a mackem supporter.
