Work Rate, Commitment, Spirit And Togetherness Were Great

Alan Pardew was interviewed immediately after the game and maybe we saw some emotion form Alan Pardew after the game, as he talked warmly about his players and how they deserved massive credit for the way they were massively criticized after the Sunderland game, but came back today to play a great game and get a memorable win, one we’ll remember for a long long time.

And it stopped a Chelsea’s six game winning streak, and it was the first time this season in the league that Chelsea have conceded more than one goal,  and the Newcastle players even received compliments from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho after the game for their commitment and drive, which his players lacked, especially in that second half.

Here’s some of what Alan told nufcTV immediately after the game:

“It was huge for us because you know we’ve put in a real shift today and shown quality and that’s what our fans want to see, they want to see us play with heart and second half we did that and won the game.”

“Our work rate, our commitment, our spirit, our togetherness was great and I really think it’s a privilege for the players and they deserve a lot of credit today because they took a lot of criticism this week, and it’s not easy for players to get the criticism they get here – so fair play to them.”

The players deserve great credit for their fantastic commitment today, there’s no doubt about that.

Now if we can only keep up that kind of form and drive, we could even do well this season.

Comments welcome.

We played superbly well, we beat a very good Chelski side.

The proof that this wasn’t / isnt a flash in the pan is to play just as well against Spuds. The result doesnt matter – if ToooN play as well as they did today, put the work and the effort in and lose; There is no shame in that, shit happens.

If they turn up and play like they did against Hull, or scum or Everton first half, then todays win becomes meaningless as there is NO progress.

Oh how I’m praying for a repeat of today. Bring it on.

Yes, CH, always a Gentleman, was really hurting after that – lesser men would send out their assistants after a 7-0 trouncing. Hopefully he will get the time to turn it round, but, this is the most unforgiving league there is. God $ rules.

Dossena’s tackle was shocking like, he deserves a 10 game ban the dirty barstuard.

And Cattermole is just a scumbag I would love to throw a beating. Heard he acts like a total pr1ck when he is out with his mates as well.

    Right !

Where are all the Doom and Gloom merchants who are normally on here if we lose?

Truth is we did,nt play well against the Scum, but we were heading to get a deserved point and lost to a good goal in the last five minutes of the game.
While i was,nt happy, i stayed out of all the negativity and comments bandied around on here.

I was,nt expecting us to beat Shitty in the League cup but from what i saw in reports on here, we played well against them and they needed extra time to beat us.
My comment was i believe, after the derby, that we are talking about the same players who battled for a point against Liverfool !
So, after a well deserved win yesterday against one of the Champion candidates the question remains!

Where are all you Doom and Gloom merchants now?
