Loic Remy is already a very popular player with Newcastle fans, and that’s not a surprise after the French International striker has looked great in the famous black and white stripes of Newcastle United, and he has already scored six goals this season so far.
Loic Remy – Newcastle is number one?
The mood in the Newcastle camp after the great Chelsea win last Saturday is very high, and we go into the game at Tottenham very confident.
But it could be a banana skin, because we remember back in February of 2012, when we finished 5th top in May, that we went down to White Hart (Hot?) Lane to attack Spurs, and we were 3-0 down after 20 minutes, 4-0 down after 34 minutes and eventually lost the game 5-0.
So that tells us we cannot get ahead of ourselves.
This is what Loic said today:
“I’m pleased to be back in the French squad again.” “The World Cup is obviously a dream for any player.” “But at the moment I’m just focusing on doing well for Newcastle.”
“I’m enjoying my football at the moment.” “Doing well for Newcastle is the main target, I have the chance to do that this season.”
“I’ve got six goals now.” “I’m very happy.” “I would like to keep going like this.” “I just want to score as many goals as I can.”
Certainly Loic Remy seems to love it at Newcastle, but he could still leave us in the summer for another club.
But if we can be successful and finish high up in the Premier League this season, that cold convince the 26 year-old to sign on permanently at Newcastle.
Here’s hoping both of those will happen. 😀

Comment #2The owner lacks ambition, which means the club in turn lacks ambition – until that changes, the future is far from rosey. The owner doesn’t want Europa as it tires the players out and last time out, it nearly got us relegated, because the squad was too small.
MA had to spend to bring in 5 players in the January to protect our status in the Premier League – he wont be taking that chance again anytime soon!!

Comment #4Just wish Cisse would get back to form because him and Remy would be deadly
If Cisse was on form you could play a 442 stroke 433 with Sissoko and Gouffran on the wings with Cabs and Tiote/Anita in the middle and still have Arfa to come on as well
I think Shola will start 2moro as we probably look to keep it tight the 1st half I think we could stun them if we came out and pressed them right away dont think they would like it as other teams sit back against them

Comment #5I can’t see Remy signing permanently for us, and not because of MA.
Remy is speaking alot how he s enjoying it here blah blah but has not once said he would actually like to stay.
We are just a decent stepping stone for him.

Comment #6Agree with that, sorry Shola-bashers but I would be shocked if Pards doesn’t start the big lad up front tomorrow. They have a tough defence and sometimes you need a big hammer to crack a nut. Make no mistake, there’s many a back line remembers their day against Ameobi Sr. 🙂
Well the blogs been quiet except for a few very staunch posters, quite a few uncommented articles are flying by I see. Is that NUFC’s fault or the fans? Could it be that Ashleys blog mole is startng to succeed in dividing and conquering?

Comment #8Who wants to bet that the club make a token bid of around 10 million pounds knowing that Remy won’t stay at the club, but so that the club can then spin it in some sort of PR spin saying “well we tried to bring him here permanently and that shows Mike Ashley’s ambition for the club”
I hate what Newcastle United has become.

Comment #9On topic (for a change) listen Loic, we really appreciate the pacatory fan-pleasing soundbite but lets have our cards on the table shall we?
Main Target = Get in France squad at all costs for upcoming World Cup.
Plan to reach Main Target –
1/ Get into PL Team and play well, if necessary swap boats to remin in PL, using loan team as lifeboat to showcase form. o not make mistake of trying to placate fans at stepping-stone club with suggestions of wanting to stay permanently.
2/ Once Main Target is achieved, use World Cup Stock increase to negotiate deal to top club for massive fee.

Comment #17On Remy; for me it is still quite simple as long as we do alright this season. Remy wants to to to the WC next summer and we want to sign him permenently – if he doesn’t play regulary he won’t go. We can either offer him that or take it away…just like that B-)
By the way it’s the Capt’n’s birthday today 😉

Comment #18Blog mole’s sent in by Ashley 🙂
How ridiculous can some of you Ashley haters get??
The contrast between the clear upbeat mood and good spirit among the players and the doom, gloom, crisis, no ambition drivel constantly spewed out by many on here is stark.
This blog is becoming a graveyard for neggers as witnessed by the massive decline in posters.

Comment #20Well the thing about Shola has gone back a long way, and mostly rests on his inconsistency, injuries and lack of actual er ahem er goals. But the lack of real depth in footballing knowledge exposes those on the blog who are quick to discount why he is still kept on by the club, manager after manager. If you take the word ‘striker’ off him for a moment, which is a curse as goals are the ONLY yardstick by which they are measured by the public at large, then think of him as a Utility Forward, there are few better in the game for doing what he does, and he has roved this n no less than CL. He disrupts and bullies defences. They know he has (albeit unpredictable) ball skills, and can pop up on the wrong side of you and score or play someone in or even make you make mistakes, so he is not ignored as some old lame hoofer, as some like to view him. Pards knows like every other guy who has managed our club, their are courses where only this particular horse is suited for.
Of course, such is the unpredictability of the one who is Sho, he might have a completely crap day, but hey, what are you going to do?

Comment #23I still cant believe Ashley under critisism whilst the Transfer Window is closed and the team look to be in a form we havent seen in a long time and Pardew still subject of a manhunt from so called fans and we have a massive match tomorrow that requires our support.
BRING ON THE PROZAC GUYS!
Any way we still having posts that Ashley only brought in 6 players in January because????? Because WHAT …
Weve got a team n front of us that needs our support.
AND if Cisse (the once saviour) had kept bangin them and we’d probably have been in a better position past season and now … Would Ashley have been the new Messiah to the Toon?
Im sure Ashley would love to be!
When does the spending stop for success???
We got a good bunch of players on that pitch that need us … Our family aint they?

Comment #25I have two daughters aged 5 & 7 and i take them to matches when i can and they really do lap up the atmosphere and add to it .. some of yous will have seen them in action no doubt.
They know nowt of football … I bore them with talking about players and cups and league position etc and they shake there head at me often .. BUT they still look forward to Match Day.
Anyway me rant is; part of me talking about identities, is for them to recognise the game as a whole.
When Pardew is on TV they know who he is, they know MA owns SD and everywhere we look we see his shops, Alans Mug in the papers and fans all over the place in our colours.
Its all positive … BUT when the slating n politics starts i have to cover there ears as if its a vulgar topic otherwise im gonna lose my little girls support!
Back to tomorrow .. HWTL

Comment #30I like Shola as a person – a model prof – he even seems very nice from what I have heard.
…I most admit though as a footballer if have never been my cup of tea – besides that has anyone else notices the past few season’s that both his physic has changed and so has his temper (he reminds of someone on steroids) – ill tempered!

Comment #32bishopblaize – it is excellent that you take your lasses to the games -budding future supporters – top job -absolutely .
There are many examples of persons following the teams that their parents supported. A trait that is probably greater in Newcastle -due to us being a one club city.
However, as with the trait of passing on the love of a specific football club it is a well established concept that other parental traits are passed down from parent to child. I am therefore not surprised when you confess your lasses know nowt about football.

Comment #33Jesper…So, in your opinion, is Shola a “luxury” we can or can’t afford to be playing? 😉

Comment #34Ibiza…maybe the memory is not that great after all…but then again looking almost 40 is not not good on your part either 😉
…Shola – a luxury we cannot afford? He is no luxury mate 😉 just someone who should have been moved on back in 2008 when was loaned out to Stoke!
But it seems to other club wants he so be try to build him up to something he’s not. Right now Cissé is not working and Pardew don’t know what to do with flair players, fans want everyone to track back (except Shola), so why not play him 😉

Comment #35bills – you mention “no ambition drivel”. A grand statement without any supporting “evidence”. Could you please enlighten me as to what the ambition should be of :-
1. An individual Premier League player.
2. A Premier League team.
3. A Premier League club.
Please relay you own views -and not those of the pro -footballing contacts you have bragged about in the past.

I’ll give you a simple answer,
Ambition is to try and win every game you play.
Are you telling me that Ashley, Pardew and any of the players go into any game wanting to lose?
Transfer Sage

That is one aspect ambition but you need to back it up, can’t just say you want to win if you don’t give yourself as much chance as possible.
I’m not saying Ashley does all bad but why does he not get the manager he backs the players he has been asking for for over 2 years now. (a big strong CB and a big strong CF).
Why does he not maximise club income, if we are to be self sufficient then surely you should get better people in to make more money to spend?
Praise is given for cheapest prem league ground to attend in the league, very very good, happy with that. He has also bought in some very good players for us as well, have a strong squad again after he oversaw the relegation with poor managerial appointments.
So it’s not all bad, most problems are the way a lot of fans feel like he doesn’t care for the club but mainly for the fans/city.
If a lot of fans feel that way, regardless of the positives he has done, then there must be something in it.

Come on man – let it out – you are not going to be sent to a Russian Goolag for giving an honest answer. Could I help you along here.
Players. Some will no doubt have their earnings as top priority, some may want to only play for their home town club, some may want to achieve a good tally of medals and cups, some may want to play in a team of outstanding players etc etc..
So what do you think should be the ambitions of a modern day footballer who plays in the PL.

Comment #40Has anyone ever thought I could be the Mole? You have to admit sometimes my random bletherings do disrupt the bog and stall the flow. Or could it be a game of double or even triple bluff?
Jokes aside, I am certain the blogs are scanned by some corporate operative and used as a means of estimating the life signs of the blog mass! the thought there ay be a mole who actually posts is intriguing, but I don’t think it would be a pro-Ashleyite, its likely more subtle than taht, a planter of seeds, a hint r suggestion here and there, breadcrumbs of decit wrapped in a web of subterfuge and…where in the name of Ronald Reagans Fridge am I going with this……
