The challenge for Newcastle from now on this season is to be consistent and to make sure that we turn up for every game and put in a solid performance, something the lads have done essentially since that terrible first half against Everton at Goodison Park when we were 3-0 down at half time – and maybe the only exception to that was the first half at Sunderland.
Alan Pardew – we’ve been good entertainment
With Newcastle coming off their best display and best result of the season, the 2-0 home win over Chelsea, Alan Pardew will be hoping we can continue on our ways and pick something up at White Hart Lane tomorrow.
This is what Alan said today in the local press:
“The most important thing is the group, and there’s a good spirit amongst the group.” “I think the performance levels after the first half at Everton have been strong.”
“I think we’ve been good entertainment value. We’ve not always had the results, but they will come, and we proved that against Chelsea.”
“That wasn’t just something I was talking about – you can’t pull that out of the air.” “You can’t beat a team in form like they were – six wins on the trot in all competitions – unless you’ve got something going on, and we have.”
Certainly the team spirit is good at the moment, and both Vurnon Anita and Moussa Sissoko talked about that yestyerday.
Now we have to turn that good team spirit into good results on the pitch, and it would be great if we can take something out of what will be a tough game for the lads tomorrow in London.
What do you think?
