Things At Newcastle Going From Strength To Strength

Yoan Gouffran scored a great goal last Saturday for Newcastle in the 2-0 win against Chelsea and he was also on target last season at White Hart Lane when we were a little unlucky to lose that game 2-1 in February.

Yoan Gouffran – after scoring against Chelsea last week

Yoan has been talking to nufcTV and has said the French players have been settling in well now, and they are even learning to speak English.

This is what the former Bordeaux striker/winger had to say:

“We’ve been here quite a long time now and I think we’re feeling well settled in.”  “Things are going from strength to strength and I think that’s showing itself on the pitch in our performances as well.”

“Although it’s quite early in the season, we’re doing a lot better than we were last season.” “We’re making an effort off the pitch – we’re all talking English a lot – and we’re doing really well.”

“It’s given us a really good confidence boost,” “It’s really important to have got that win for the confidence so we move forward on the basis of that.”

“We’ve moved out of the negative mindset we had from losing a couple of matches, and we’re going to go there with fresh legs and do as well as we possibly can.”

Newcastle have been an up and down team this season, and that’s putting it mildly, and we are hoping for some consistency today, and the biggest threat in this game is that we don’t start this game quickly, and lose one or two goals early on.

If Newcastle can stay in this game in the first half, then we must have a decent chance of taking something out of the game, but we’ll need to be near our best, especially in the first half.

It’s an early kick off at 12 noon too, so we hope our lads are awake. 😀

we probably are one striker and one winger away from being a really good team..even Pardew the donkey breeder can do wonders with us if we signed the above
