Newcastle Interested In Top Juventus Striker

Newcastle need to bring in a striker this January, and we have been linked today with 30 year old Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic.

Mirko Vucinic – Juventus strike interesting Newcastle

Mirko joined Juventus from AS Roma in the summer of 2011, and his age immediately puts some doubt on the authenticity of the reports, which are coming out of Italy.

The fact that he has played in only three league game for Juventus this season, make him surplus to requirements at the top Italian club.

Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente have forced Vucinic on the bench this season, but we’d be very surprised if Newcastle have any interest in this 39 times capped (15 goals) Montenegro International.

His four-year contract at Juventus runs until June of 2015, and he’s also on £70K/week, so his age coupled with his high wages would seem to rule out any move to Newcastle.

Mike Ashley has an unwritten rule in place at the club that Newcastle sign players 26 years old or under, so signing Vucinic would go right against that strategy, and the owner doesn’t like to pay big money out to players who are past their best either.

We’d be very surprised if Newcastle have any interest in Vucinic.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

Being tied to one of his advertising boards, being hung drawn and quartered and being dragged around the SD Arena is too good for Ashley.

Nile is apparently over in Toronto helping mayor Rob Ford dispose of his excess crack cocaine. A very thoughtful lad.

    Bills,
I never said anyone would be coming or going, I sat quietly on the fence over that subject so I didn’t have to explain myself for my short sightedness.

    Bills,
There were a few posters that were adamant that Cabaye, Tiote and Krul would be off in the summer and we all know they would have been if the right offer comes in, sign of a good owner because he never sold cheap, wait until they’re in the final years of their contracts because he won’t pay them the going rate to stay, you can cite the few that have signed extensions, but they were all before the wool was pulled over their eyes two summers ago.

As usual we’re interested in all players in the world but after all we will buy only a new pacemaker for JFK.

    Ed. God love ya man.
But please stop writing pointless articles which grab my attention “newcastle interested in striker” which are then contradicted midway through tue article “we’d be very surprised if newcastle make any move for xxxx”. You could write this about alot of players. Theres nothing special unique or interesting about this guy.
Makes me so annoyed when I read something I think might be exciting and click on the link om Facebook to then realise its a complete none article. Pretty sure this blog never used be like this back in the day (about 4 years ago…) when every article was in some way relevant.

If Ashley didn’t have Carr providing these more than cabale players for little outlay, we’d be relegated already.

Pardew’s limited skill cracks couldn’t be papered over by lesser players who don’t have the ability to score wonder goals, therefore he’d break even more poor records.

Little outlay on players and a lower league ‘jobs for the boys’ manager is the height of his ambition for his advertising vessel, Newcastle United. False hope and mediocrity are upon us and it isn’t good enough.

magpiedom – Ed is doing what he always does. He reads a lot of stories aout NUFC and then summarises them especially the transfer rumours. Then because it is Ed’s blog he then has the cheek to give his own opinion on the story – shocking!

let’s all just face facts and forget all this speculation.

We’ll bring nobody in for two reasons:

1 – there’s no ambition or desire to and

2 – Kinnear’ll be on the case and going through the motions.

On saying that, he’s no reason to do that because even if he did want a player, he’d make a hash of it anyway.

Then the articles headlines should be cleverer, satirical or interesting in some way.

Look this is just feedback to Ed who I actually very much admire for his efforts toward the toon cause. This is his blog and he can write what he wants but i just think its a very pointless article. Should be taken as constructive criticism 🙂

Age is not a problem so long as the fee for the player is low.

The reason for signing younger players is that they do not devalue over the course of a contract, due to age.

If you are paying little to nothing upfront for a player, you are not losing money. Simple.
