It Could Be The End Of The Road For This Manager

With France going down 2-0 in Kyiv last night to Ukraine, its’ going to be very difficult for them to now qualify for next summer’s World Cup in Brazil, although not impossible.

Didier Deschamps 1

Didier Deschamps – could be curtains for French manager

The second leg is next Tuesday night in Paris, and you can bet the French team will go all out for an early goal, but that could be difficult against a Ukraine side that manager Mikhail Fomenko has transformed since he took them over at the start of the year.

In the eleven games Mikhail has been manager,  Ukraine are unbeaten having won nine of them and drawn two – one against England, and they have conceded only two goals and none in the last eight games.

So that makes it difficult for France to score at least two goals in Paris next Tuesday night, if they are to have any chance of qualifying for Brazil next summer.

Contrast that record to that of France manager Didier Deschamps, who looked to be bringing France back after three successive wins, but since he took over after the European Championships last year from Laurent Blanc, his record id not a good one.

And f France don’t qualify for the finals fit will be the first tome since 1994, when Didier Deschamps was in the French team that failed to qualify for the Finals in the US, and Didier could well be fired.

His record as the France manager is played 17, won 7 drawn four and lost six for a win percentage of 41.8 and a loss percentage of 35, which for a French manager is not good.

That compares to Blanc’s record at France of played 27 won 16 drawn seven and lost four for a win percentage of almost 60% and a loss percentage of 15.

We hope France can get through for the sake of our French players, but it’s going to be really difficult against a strong and resourceful Ukraine side next Tuesday night.

What do you think?

I’d say tie remy down to a four year deal. Luuk de jong on loan for assessment. Have a summer plan b in mind. Sign one or two cbs mike and yanga are working well colo should go he’s not at the races. Saylor as back up and shop around. Plus get ince and move obertan on.

On the one side it will be disappointing for our French contingent if France don,t qualify for next year !

But on the other, it may work to our advantage, if they are not there? Other clubs will not come sniffing around to buy our French players if they are not in the shop window next year?

As far as regards the French team, it will be down to the French Trainer if they don,t make it and not the players.
From what ive heard and read the wrong tactics were used by their trainer and Ukraine caught them om the counter twice ?

The game broadcast here in Holland last evening was Portugal- Sweden with the main attention focused on Zlatan and Ronaldo. The rest i did,nt get the chance to see ?

Watched the match last night, Dechamps is the most arrogant manager I have ever seen, even worse than Jol (at least by facial expressions).
France are so ne dimensional under him – its a case of give the ball to Ribery, I know hesa good footballer and all that – but the likes of Remy never got a decent ball all night, as for Cabaye not starting, – enough said, mind you the way the referee was he might just have got sent off.
Still hope they do go to Brazil, but doubtful

Are players are always in the shop window, we talk about it all the time

If France qualify, every French player has that extra incentive, it would also have near on been a guarantee that we could of kept the squad together during jan as no player would really risk not settling at a new club mid season before a WC, if they don’t qualify we’re more susceptible to lose some of our better players come jan

Suppose there would be negatives and also positives linked with wether le Frans made it to Brazil or not !
At the moment though, its not looking likely but their trainer is a Plonker, of that i,m sure?

And your right, i do suppose that as far as shop windows and transfers go then they are all Transfer Targets if they are playing well, even fo us?
Can see France binning Deschamps if they don,t get a result this coming Tuesday?

if the right offer comes in – World Cup or no World Cup for France – our best players would consider it!

…everything else is just subjective argumentation 😉 Some see it one way and others see it another way!

    Both points are valid!
