Nigeria Hold Italy – Shola Ameobi Stars – Video

Nigeria played a 2-2 draw with Italy tonight at Craven Cottage in a very entertaining game, and the African Champions showed they are a possible threat in the World Cup in Brazil next summer.

Shola Ameobi had a good game and made one and scored a beautiful second goal for Nigeria to put them 2-1 ahead, before Italy equalized.

More games like this from Shola, and he’ll be in the plane to Brazil next summer – here’s his opportunistic goal tonight.

Hold it right there – he struck that cleanly, with no aid by way of deflection into the net. Just going to drop my cat out the window to check a few universal laws are still in order.

    😆

To be fair, he does strike the ball very pure and powerfully these days, more times than not. I remember when, almost without fail, he would scuff or hit it like his feet were wet rags

He’ll be back to his usual self when he pulls on the black and white. Or are we to see this as an excuse as to why we do not need another striker.

Shola goes to World Cup and Pards will be telling us “we’re in great shape for strikers, with Cisse and Shola we have two internationals, we don’t need another one”

I’m sorry, was that too bereft of facts and logic?

As for the petty personal insults, it only serves to make you look like the spineless little man, but I am not going to stoop to such a level. You can prove that all by yourself.

Shola is world class. We are honoured to have him in our team. No wonder Papiss cannot get a look in. A great player who is showing his real ability now. He is capable of scoring 25 league goals a season.

Why do we need another striker when we have Shola? Papiss makes a great third choice striker. Ashley can keep his hands in his pocket. Something he is good at. Tight git.

Of course Ed can stop the ads, but they’re all revenue for him. Hmmm…trying to get more revenue despite that making customers unhappy…

It’s even more annoying on a mobile device. I have a pop-up blocker on my laptop.

We only need a few more wins before Xmas and Cashley will be able to sell either Ccabaye or Krul. Who knows, he might just sell them both. Happy days for Mr Cashley!!!! 40 million in your back pocket anybody? Not bad work if you can get it. Any moron think the bandit is still giving to the TOON. He will sell up in a couple of years after selling off all the silverware and buy Rangers for two bob. Champions league football guaranteed for minimum outlay and massive exposure for Spuds Direct. You all know its coming.

Can recommend Adblock too. I’m using Google Chrome on Windows with Adblock (free version) and I get no pop-ups. Adblock tells me that it has blocked 11 ad popups on this page alone so must be a nightmare without such a blocker.

Anyone know how to block the ads on an android device? I rarely come on here now as its beyond a joke now Ed has totally sold out. Lost all respect for the guy its so annoying on a touch screen phone.

Shola is the ultimate enigma. Will never get my true respect as he is simply far too lazy. No way a professional player from a family of athletes should move that slowly. And for a target man his main problem is he simply cannot head the ball. On the odd occassion he does win it he has literally no idea where it might go. Seen him score a couple of bullet headers in his career and both if them literally came off the top of his head. Nah sorry any fan on the terraces would out more graft in than him and its taken him until his career is nearly over to man up and start using his physical assets properly.

Personally i think Sammy will be twice the player in half the time

Way to make loads of money from a football club…run it alongside the son of a fantastic owner, pay yourself a high salary, saddle the club with debt that you loan it at a high interest rate, then sell the club to some mug and make a huge profit on the shares.

Aye the lad should be far quicker, I’m sure if you took any fan out the terraces, played them for a whole season when all other CF’s were injured despite the fact they needed a surgical procedure on there hips so played on with pain suppressing injections then yeah I’m sure they would move with bullet speed every week

As for not winning anything upfront…….aye okay, not as if he’s been holding the ball up and allowing us to get lads up the pitch to counter

Some seem to really hate seeing the classic scapegoats do well

Tads your skills as a mind reader are limited so quit with the assumptions. I have been calling for him to play more for years. However this has been due to limited options and doesnt make my statements less true. He is lazy and cant head a ball properly. He never moved quickly when he was young but its not flat out pace that is the problem its the fact he must cover less km than any other player. I have never seen any man walk so much on a pitch. On your toes? Not Shola.

Ok he holds the ball up, but sorry if i expect a target man to do a little more, like head the ball and maybe score more than a handful a season once in a career.

Yeah hes a real tough guy putting his body on the line. I played local football every week for nothing. Two knee ops, 3 ankles ops, 3 broken bones and walking with a slight limp later i can tell you in all honesty i put my body in worse places than he does, and i didnt get paid thousands a week. Seen loads of lads do the same, just for love of the game. For the money he was paid i would chop something off. And pain killing injections would be spoiling me.

Dont begrudge the lad his success he seems a good guy but lets not rewrite history, hes an average player and lucky to have been retained this long imo

    Mind reader?
What are you on about, you may well of played 3 times a week, good for you, I do to, but I can damn near guarantee playing 90 mins at whatever level you played at is nowhere near playing at top flight
And you say lucky to still be here?

He’s still here because he’s prepared to play when others aren’t, you know like ummmm Owen viduka martins all picking up there sick note cheques
He still here because manager/coach after manager/coach have deemed him good enough
The lad hasn’t had the most glamorous career but he’s always there when called on so why shouldn’t he reap the benefits
