Well unfortunately this place will always have people complaining. But many times they are off-base anyways.

We hardly sat back and defended all 2nd half. Remy could have set up a third had he played it to Cisse, but he was quite selfish this game

Fers goal was brilliant, maybe Remy could have thrown himself at it but oh well can’t slate him. Norwich did not deserve that goal.

stuart has ya wife ever told ya to shut up might be the best advice ya ever get!
for people to say that its pardews fault for the TEAM to sit back is laughable because in the second half we really could have scored another 3-4 goals
so norwich who had to show more desire and did is pardews fault!!?
take a break neggers because we’ve just won 3 in a row and 2 of em were against chelsea n spurs!

and tds why do you always play devils advocate? even when there’s just an honest opinion!
you dig a hole for yaself everytime
you’d be better off on a politics blog

I’m happy for Shola to be having a (good) influence on games now.

I know he’s in his early 30s but if he could just get his sharpness and finishing up a bit he would be a huge asset this season.

There are a few players in the team that i really want to see scoring. Yanga, Williamson, Cisse, sissoko, shola and tiote. Would have made the win so much better if say Williamson had scored a third

I did follow the game though and I know what happened.

Newcastle might have sat back in the second half but we were 2-0 ahead at half time and so the opposing team become a lot of physical at the back diving in for the balls because their most of their players are further up the field.
so the Norwich players will just fowl players that are on the attack.

TDS – No I don’t use other blogs, my friend. I post quite rarely now as the continual negativity does get to me. So I read every day, but post quite sporadically.

How are you, sir? Keeping well?

Norcal – I agree. Having players on international duty mid week in a tough game would’ve taken its toll. And that’s just the French lads. We aren’t a team full Of world class players, or lads worth hundreds of million pounds. We are a team in transition, this time last season, languishing in big trouble.

We are in much better shape. Still not reached the peak performance I feel we are capable of, yet we’ve just taken 9 points off Chelsea, spurs and a resilient Norwich side.

If we were talking about any other club, we would all say that playing “badly” and winning is the sign of a good team, but apparently that doesn’t count for the toon!?

I don’t DO negativity mate. Last season was the exception. Very happy Geordie today! 🙂

a win is a win so we are happy, but pointing out wrongs doesn’t mean that we are downbeat, I happen to like Pardew and believe that he is a good manager but at the same time he does on a regular basis send his team out to defend a lead where going for a 2nd or 3rd goal to kill off teams would be for the best, look at our goal difference, and think back to our goal difference when we came 5th, it is very poor and thats because we never kill teams off and try to defend our lead, this is wrong, but like I say, pointing out errors is not being downbeat, its trying to make what is good even better.

loads of numpties on here as normal

pardew is a shit manager, full stop , accept it

regardless who we play, we always shut up shop, this can not be the players, if it was , pardew has had 3 yeard to teach them not to do it,

we should have won by at least 4, but where let off because there such a poor team,

if anyone thinks its the players, please go and look at nearly every match we take the lead in, same every time

in the end , another lucky 3 points

Never mind the (heavy) weather…as long as we’re together… I think an old song goes.

Well its another 3 points but I feel that hanging on for most of the second half against a poor outfit at home makes me worry for team standards next time a decent team faces us. Im not sure I go with Pards tactics 2nd half, they were there for the killing but he got the lads over-worried about a 2nd half opening 15 minute onslaught that never really happened. That meant we allowed them far more possession than they deserved. Subs made far too late, Hatem & Cisse early 2nd half and we would have got a couple more.

Oh and good as Tim was last time, he was as bad this game, one of his worst displays. Sissoko was busy though which looked good.

We won and most are happy, but that doesn’t stop people talking about the things that we should have done better or different as in all honesty we are lucky to have come away with three points as we had our backs to the wall for nearly the entire second half.

But thats three wins on the bounce and it leaves us nicely placed in the league going into the game with WBA but Pardew still needs to deal with the glaring error’s that we can see if we are to sustain our winning form or even push on from where we are now.

I’m good mate. However it’s a bit of a shame how this blog has devolved. I don’t get up to Newcastle very often so it’s good to get a vibe from fellow fans from this site. I’m guessing the suicide rate has risen in Newcastle in the last year…

Im not being negative, just observant. We were overly conservative 2nd half and maybe afforded a poor opponent the luxury of grabbing an undeserved point.

A guy who doesn’t even watch or listen to the match makes himself centre of attention on this blog on a daily basis, seems a strange way to go on.

As I said earlier, great 3 points but can’t help think Pardew’s way out of his depth as NUFC manager. No balls to stand up to Ashley and none to go for the jugular against a lack lustre Norwich team at SJP. We, imho, were lucky in the end to come away with all the points.
Reminds me a little of our 5th finish season, stumbling over the finishing line time after time.

so catchy how did this ultra crap manager manage to win 3 games in a row against chelsea spurs n norwich or was that just the team!!!??
because it can’t work both ways!!

    NUFCarter,

If Pardew’s tactic WAS to defend the lead it worked 🙂

As you say though, so many on here want to put a negative spin even on a win. Imo Norwich played some good football, never let their heads drop and worked hard for 98 minutes. Just the type of team we often lose points to. But we won, and thats all that matters.

    Torq,
I hear you and guessed as much. I am in a similar vein – too many supporters are driven away from the blog by those that can see only one side of an opinion and lambast those that don’t comply.
Still, as they know the game better than tha manager, owner and every play what right do we have to question them?
BTW -I always look for your posts as they are always educated and based on logic.

The break is yet another factor but apparently some on here expect top drawer stuff regardless.

A little of sharpening up and we could be a reliable top 8 side. Now that our defense is more solid, we are probably a striker and winger away from being in the top 6.

    @catchy
calling people numpties, then stonewalling with your weak argument. You are brilliant man,and by brilliant I mean ridiculous and exceptionally ignorant.
