Newcastle Star Prefers The Physical English League

One of the men of the moment at Newcastle – Mathieu Debuchy – has been interviewed in the local press today, and of course Mathieu will miss the game against Norwich City this afternoon through suspension.

Mathieu Debuchy – wont let up on his physical play

And Mathieu is fresh from yet another good game for France, after he helped them overcome a 2-0 deficit to Ukraine in Wolrd Cup qualifying and register a magnificent second leg 3-0 win, to qualify for the finals in Brazil next summer.

And Mathieu has no intention of letting up on his game, because of the five yellow cards he has quickly picked up:

“This happened to me in France as well.” “Bookings are something you have to be careful about.”

“At the same time, my style of game is to go in for tackles, so it’s a balance, and there’s a huge difference between the French and English leagues.”

“The English one is much more physical, but personally, I prefer that.”

Mathieu is now becoming the player we thought we had signed in January, and his style of play is perfectly suited to the Premier League, and the 28 year-old has looked a very good player for Newcastle, and a very good player for France, in these last couple of months.

And it seems Mathieu is now the number one right back for France, and he has ousted Bacary Sagna out of that starting position in the National side, and he took full advantage of the Arsenal player’s injuries over the last year or so.

Mathieu is fast becoming one of the best right backs in the Premier League, and he’s also a big favorite with the Newcastle fans, because not only is he a good player, but he works his socks off in every game and in training too.

This lad gets better every game, fast becoming one of our best and most consistent players with the ability to become one if the best RB’s in the league

Debuchy is doing well at the minute, helps getting that extra bit of cover. Given he is our only genuine right back , it goes without saying he will be missed today.

On Shola, great lad. Has played when injured and put his international career on hold numerous times for the sake of this club. Unfair to judge the lad on his goals to appearances record, given the number of times he has featured as a sub, but goals to actual minutes played is a reasonably respectable 1 in 275, roughly 1 in 3 full games. Yeah, he isn’t Alan Shearer, but a very good servant to the club, and has done well last few games.

Missing the match today, it isn’t on over here sadly. Plus I have the excitement of an afternoon at the Goat races. Not sure how you read form when it comes to goat racing mind!!
