Newcastle Fringe Players Leave Newcastle On Loan

Two Newcastle fringe players have gone out on loan until the new year, and they are 22 year-old James Tavernier and 21 year-old Haris Vuckic, who have both joined Rotherham.

This will be the sixth time James, who has just turned 22, will have been out on loan to get first team experience, and the Bradford-born player has so far played 10 times for the Newcastle first team.

21 year-old Slovenian International Vuckic has suffered a number of injuries since he arrived on Tyneside as a 16 year-old back in January, 2009, and he went on loan to Cardiff  City last year, where he played 5 times with one goal.

Harris has so far played 17 times for the Newcastle first team with one goal, and it will be good that he gets some first team games at Rotherham.

James has played a total of 62 first team games for various clubs, and he had this to say about Rotherham:

“Hopefully I can learn something new coming here and I’m really looking forward to it.”  “My gaffer at Newcastle says it`s a short-term loan to get games under my belt and I’ll take every game as it comes and see what happens at the end of it.”

“I found out that Rotherham were interested in me and straight away I thought it would be a good idea to come and get some games under my belt.”

“I’ve had a good welcome from everyone and I’ve got a really good feeling about this and I can’t wait to get on the pitch on Saturday.”

“Rotherham are on a great run at the minute and in a great position and hopefully I can help push them higher up the league and get them in with a chance of getting promoted.”

Haris Vuckic – off to Rotherham

Haris Vuckic has enormous potential as a footballer, but that potential has yet to be realized, mainly because of all the injuries he’s picked up, but Rotherham manager Steve Evans seems to know all about the 21 year-old Slovenian:

“This is a fantastic player and we are looking forward to working with him.:  ”He certainly adds a lot of quality to an already talented squad.”

We hope both Haris and James get some games at Rotherham, and who knows what may happen in the new year, if they do well they could even be at Rotherham through the end of the season.

It would be a nightmare if Vuckic was allowed to leave, especially with Cabaye possibly leaving at the end of the season. Vuckic is certainly what you could call an unpolished diamond.
