Mathieu Debuchy The Only Change For Newcastle

On a day when Newcastle United have announced exciting new plans for a stunning new state of the art training complex at Benton, Alan Pardew has announced the team for the West Brom game this afternoon, and as expected, there is just one change from the team that beat Norwich last week, and Mathieu Debuchy returns at right-back with Yanga-Mbiwa dropping to the bench

And Newcastle’s bench is very strong – Rob Elliot, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Vurnon Anita, Sammy Ameobi, Gabriel Obertan, Hatem Ben Arfa and Papiss Cisse – but still no room for the fit again local lads, Steven Taylor or Paul Dummett.

As expected,  Shane Long starts up front for the opposition, and this will be a tough game for Newcastle, but a fourth win in a row could see us climb that table even further by tonight.

Phil Dowd is the referee today.

I knew it. Man will never learn. If we lose this one it is because of AP. MYM NEEDED to play.

Whilst it’s not what I would have went for due to Shane Longs pace, wait and judge the formation after the match.

    Colocinni in the team? wth..

  • 10 toonarmydownsouth // Nov 30, 2013 at 4:38 PM

Well let’s hope colo has a better game

Gutted for MYM, bought in as a replacement for a player who’s got one foot out the door, plays better than him then gets dropped

Could be another glaring tactical bad gamble by Pards this one. Colo might play well but what id=f Willo has a bad day? Will Pardycakes realise he might have got the combo wrong? The answer is No btw.

Cant say I am surprised at the team maybe Colo will finally raise his game? Its a weird one for ages I was worried about Williamson being on the team sheet now I am quite relieved he is playing!! Times change !

West Broms defence is pretty slow Sissoko , Gouffran and Remy should be able to blast them with their pace ! Hard fought 2 – 1 win for me

Dropping a playing in form to bring back a player who doesn’t even want to be here……………………and people wonder why Pardew is derided

Gosling and Tavernier have just scored – not that anyone really cares

I cannot complain, I think Pardew has earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to selecting the team.

Personally, I would have opted for Ben Arfa instead of Ameobi, but I will be happy for Ameobi to prove me wrong.

TB – only proves they are now in their natural environment.

Shane Long is on fire and is very quick. I hope Colocinni intelligence will make him get the better of his speed.

One good thing atm is look who good the bench is makes a nice change to have a very strong bench going into games.

Come on coach! Why two slow CB’s? It’s either one or the other man

  • 21 Ibizatoon // Nov 30, 2013 at 4:48 PM

That Carlton Cole might be worth checking out…

We are worrying about Long but WBA have got Shola, Remy and Goofy to worry about.

    I’m going for 5.0 to us :-)

I guess I was correct to question giving the captaincy back to colo last week.

perhaps it is just jonas is out injured at the minute maybe he will be returning and place back into the starting 11.

does pardew ever look at why England have such a mess in defence at the minute, colo is wanting to leave, mbiwa and willo have both shown what looks a very good partnership but what happens it gets messed up.

this means just 1 thing I will not accept anything but a win and I want a clean sheet otherwise I will be a bit disappointed with pardew myself.
