Michael Laudrup – This Newcastle Player Has Everything

9:33 am, Wednesday, December 4th, 2013 by Ed Harrison · 4 Comments

There will probably be a scramble for Loic Remy in the summer, when his season long loan deal at Newcastle ends, and Swansea could be one of the clubs in for the French International striker.

Loic Remy – Newcastle are number one
Or is that “I’m number one”?

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has revealed that Newcastle striker Loic Remy was a Swansea target in the summer, when Newcastle skilfully wrapped up the loan signing of the Frenchman for the season, and if  Remy hadn’t had that rape trial coming up – he would have been signed permanently by Newcastle in August.

But now with this excellent form – Loic’s scored eight Premier league goals so far this season – bigger clubs will be coming in for him this summer – with Arsenal and other big European clubs likely to be interested.

This is what Laudrup – the former great Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid midfielder, who was capped 104 times by Denmark – had to say about Loic:

“He’s really a player. I like him a lot,”  “He was one of the players I was interested in last summer. There’s no doubt about that. “He is a player that I like. He has everything. He has speed, individual quality and goals.”

Loic seemed a bit off form on Saturday in the 2-1 win against West Brom, and he could even be rested tonight, with Papiss Cisse maybe getting a run-out.

But with Loic in such good goal-scoring form, it would be a risk the Newcastle manager would be taking if he is not in the starting line-up for tonight’s game at the Liberty Stadium.

We need those goals to win the game tonight.

not being negative but i would like to concentrate on remy’s weak points to soften the blow when he leaves us as i dont think we will get close to signing him tbh !

he is a very greedy out for himself striker (like cisse but a lot lot better) and not really a team player and erm…….argh thats pretty much his only down side :-(

i want demba ba back :-(aswell as signing remy ^^ imagine our team then :-)

    Ed

Its I am the only one NUFC who has PL goals to his name.

Cisse has become the new Ameobi.

Tough match tonight but we have enough to beat them they are struggling with the European games despite what Laudrup says and they have nothing up front without Michu

Not a game for Williamson this one intelligent defenders not strength Swamsea play on the deck and have no height which will expose Mike imo Mbiwa would do a fine job against that. Anita would aswell but Tiote/cabs/Sissoko are dominating the midfield

Also think HBA or Cisse could come in for Shola who must be shattered

Everyone is so negative on this blog. Were not only winning matches were playing extremely well along with it, why not just enjoy it?

You have to give Pardew some credit for the way were playing.
Everything is a conspiracy theory, now I am not mashleys biggest fan. But surely he does want CL as it brings A LOT of revenue with it.

Remy is a cracking player, but it’s not just him that’s got us the 4 wins on the trot, if the rest of the lads play like they are….he CAN be replaced
