Thats was painful to watch, if we lose then lets at least lose fighting for everything

  • 2 Lilongwe Geordie // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:53 PM

    TDS,
Howay man, if you try to argue Shelvey is a forward then you are obviously only on this blog to try and start arguments with people!!

  • 3 Norlinsen // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:54 PM

The only player that performed today and looked up for it was Debuchy

  • 4 NUFCarter // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:55 PM

    I absolutely hate Michael Owen!

  • 5 Big Pappa Cissé // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:55 PM

Debuchy one of my fave NUFC players. Only one that seems to give a toss when we are up against it .

  • 6 Himanshu Dhingra // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:57 PM

Ameobi! No PL goal since 20th Dec 2012.

    Ball Onion Bag!

  • 7 Lilongwe Geordie // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:57 PM

    Jesper,
Given the injuries Laudrup has, he doesn’t have the option of “using his squad better”. I don’t have a problem with the line up he put out, but we seemed to sit deeper from the off. At Spurs we got straight in amongst it and pressed high. I don’t put it down to tiredness, just as I didn’t for last year.

Pardew said everyone was in great shape and everyone has been praising Faye Downey (on here) this week saying we look fitter, and now it is we were tired and Pards got selection wrong. Both can’t be true in this scenario.

If Pards got something wrong it was his overly defensive tactics, something which has been an issue for a while.

  • 8 Mister Tuff // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:58 PM

yo -yo -wrong team using the wrong tactics. if he has used Saturdays team and instructed them to get at the Swans from the off – I would say reasonable tactics. The power and energy of our recent wins has been evident – just sitting back and inviting pressure with our players is not good. Can you not see that?

  • 9 Ted Bundy // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:58 PM

Debuchy. Wish they all had the same grit and will as him.

  • 10 John Tudor // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:59 PM

webb needs demoting right ffin poser blind to boot where is the justice

  • 11 croftus5678 // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:59 PM

robbed ,robbed and robbed some more :-(

first goal dyer dived yet again for the fk before krul flapped it for no reason.

2nd goal ^^ i mean wth goofy got ran through by williamson and to start with ffs.

then another pen turned down for ourselves when it was a clear handball yay thx ref your doing a sterling job !!!

then deb’s should have hit the floor from shelvy’s head but the 12th swansea player deemed it to be fair ^^

    and hey presto 3-0 >.<

ref needs the sack and i'm sure this will be a downer for our players now thx you &*(^^%^*(&^&*(*^&*((*&

  • 12 Big Pappa Cissé // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:59 PM

Pardew already making excuses for Man U .

  • 13 Yohan Kebab // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:01 PM

should be counterattacking against man utd not swansea who love to play keep ball, they have no recognised strikers i said we should have just gone balls out attack on them rather than sitting back

sometimes we can be rock solid with coloccini, but notice when he is in the team we are always prone to capitulation

  • 14 Charlie in the Gallowgate // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:01 PM

Debuchy my man of the match gave everything
    unlucky with second goal
    Luck ran out tonight
Kept his head when that DICK shitarse Shelvey ‘nutted him’
    BUT
    Did not understand substitutions
Krul should of tipped ball over bar for corner for first goal
AND – Howard Fuckin Webb call himself referee absolute arsehole
two stone wall penalties, Shelvey should of seen red
first goal never a foul – could of gone either way just Swansea know how to jump higher and squeel the loudest when tackled.
My anger tonight is aimed at that DICK WEBB

  • 15 JackButler // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:02 PM

We should have switched to a five man midfield as we were being easily overrun with Anita coming on for Shola

Bringing on TWO DEFENDERS and Obertan make’s no sense at all when we were losing the game.

It seems that Pardew is incapable of changing things when our back are against the wall

  • 16 Himanshu Dhingra // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:02 PM

    Colo Should be dropped!

Yet other CBs have been hauled off made to look scapegoats

Bad Management by our so called Manager.

    manxpie // Dec 4, 2013 at 9:52 PM

wow what absolute shit by shelvey no headbutt by debuchy it was only u fella!!
he was just trying to walk away!!!
and they still give him man of the match!

  • 18 croftus5678 // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:03 PM

aint going to call pards or his tactics (even though i would have had mbiwa in collo’s place and would have never bough ober on in a million years) i think what we did should have won the game if they didnt have there 12th man.

  • 19 NUFCarter // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:03 PM

1 positive: we went down by one place.
Negatives: No fight, Poor tactics, no change of tactics, no fight by many of our players, poor substitutions, only 1 real effort at goal that troubled Vorm, No clean sheet, Conceded 3 to a mid table team who have played their 3rd game in 6 days and have 3 of their main strikers injured, sat back, no pressure and no one played Well. How can we be so poor after winning four on the bounce?

  • 20 Big Pappa Cissé // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:04 PM

Yes we should have had a penalty and they should have been down to 10 men, but we didn’t deserve to win because we hardly created anything .

From what I can remember Remy’s header in the first half and his blocked effort in the second that hit a hand are the only significant chances we created .

    Not good enough .

  • 21 NUFC FOR SALE // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:04 PM

    No excuses we were garbage.

Yes we’ve won 4 games on the trot but in all those games did we play decent football?????? NO

Pardew take a good long look at Swansea and see how the modern game should be played.

The lack of movement on the ball is unbelievable in our team.

And if Collicini wants driving to Argentina I’ll do it for him no problem….the sooner he f##ks off the better.

Destroyed the defence by bringing him back into the team……his sell buy date is well past so just let him go for free.

Defence against Man Utd for me has to be Santon RB Willaimson MBiwa Haidara LB

And if Anita can’t get a game from the bench after watching that shower of #### today I don’t know what the kid has to do.

  • 22 nico // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:05 PM

Anyone know why Arfa wasn’t on the bench and Cisse was supposed to be on the bench but then wasn’t?

  • 23 John Tudor // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:05 PM

    @18 no positives

  • 24 matias // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:06 PM

Pardew very reasonable and diplomatic again. Would be fun to see how SAF would have reacted on the handballs and headbutting incidents.

Couple of extra strikers would have been nice tonight.

  • 25 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:06 PM

Lilongwe…I don’t put it down to tiredness in the sense of the word (though they looked leg-tired), but down to cleverness and tactics!

…in modern football you need to use the whole squad when it goes bad and even when it goes great.

You need to be clever and the the possibilities in the diverse team selection you have. Not just stick to a “winning formula”.

This has been my problem before this game and still is.

  • 26 Malta Mag // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:06 PM

Negativity appears again as soon as we slip up. Should have had a penalty and if Shelvey isn’t banned for his head butt then it’s a disgrace. Plenty of fighting spirit throughout but sometimes you just have to take it on the chin.
Surprising substitutions but I’m sure Pardew had his reasons. Still think Obertan has a future and like Hadeira every time I see him.
Don’t lose the faith because I wouldn’t be surprised if we go to Old Trafford and put one over them.
    Howay the lads…………

  • 27 veto // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:07 PM

one of pardews tactics that never seems to go right for him .
he seems to lose his bottle and sets us out to soak up pressure and counter .
never works, always concede and are on the backfoot for the second half .
can understand games where we need todo this , but not with teams that can play some decent football .

  • 28 JackButler // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:07 PM

nico – HBA has flu and Cisse injured his heel in the warm up

  • 29 nico // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:08 PM

Pardew will just come out and say ‘We were tired tonight and didn’t get the rub of the green’. I’m now sick of this statement. Why can’t we put teams like Norwich to bed and win by 3, 4 or 5. It would make these 3-0 losses easier to take. It really winds me up looking at our goals difference.

  • 30 John Tudor // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:09 PM

why no striker on the bench you can take your squad to games if late injuries or upset tummies you can draft others in bad preparation from you know who

  • 31 Yohan Kebab // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:09 PM

For all this pardew is a good man manager malarkey

is it good man management to drop a defender at the top of his game off the back of two clean sheets for a player who has just declared again that he wants to leave??

good management to say you will reward good performances and then when anita literally cant do any more still leaving him benched

    i dont know

when alls good its very good, but apart from chelsea we havent looked convincing all season

pardew cant cope without 442, and has no plan b

  • 32 nico // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:09 PM

who deserved to be dropped today?

  • 34 Charlie in the Gallowgate // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:09 PM

    today our luck ran out
could still be playing and would not score.
Debuchy my man of the match

for being unlucky with swanshits second goal and not reacting to Shelveys ‘headbutt’

    Could not understand substitutions
Krul should of tipped ball out for first goal

BUT MY ANNOYANCE IS FOR THAT P**CK WEBB

If he is a ref I’ll show my backside in Fenwick’s window.

    Two stonewall penalties
    shelvey should of seen Red
Foul for first goal never a foul
If Swanshit squeeled when tackled he give thema Free kick

Hope Pardew speaks his mind and give him grief

  • 35 JP...from The Rock // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:09 PM

We we’re robbed big time tonight. Awful refereeing by Howard Webb, is he blind!? He cost us the match. But I must say what odd substitutions Pardew made. What was the point of bringing on Mbiwa?

    Cabaye went missing all match.

Debuchy m.o.m the only player apart from Gouff that showed some desire to win.

Shame we didn’t win or draw as this result has dented our confidence somewhat.

  • 36 NUFCarter // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:09 PM

And if hes gonna bring on Yanga it had to be for the ‘past it’ colocinni.

  • 37 Big Pappa Cissé // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:09 PM

Pardew hasn’t got a clue when we go a goal down and just stands on the touchline like a deer in the headlights .

I lost count of how many times Swansea passed around us in triangles yet Pardew did nothing .

Unless we are playing 4-4-2 at home and score first Pardew is useless .

  • 38 jimiley // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:10 PM

The lads were tired after 4 great wins in a row. A top 4 place is still nailed on. We can win at Manure and kick on from there. Sir Alan is doing a great job. We should be proud of him and the team. I have not been so proud of the team since the Keegan days. Sir Alan can rightly compare himself with that era.

  • 39 JackButler // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:10 PM

btw even laudrup said it should have been a red!

  • 42 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:10 PM

    It’s called constructive criticism:

“it’s the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments”

    Negativity is something entirely different!

  • 43 nico // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:11 PM

Shelvey never made contact at Debuchy, just moved his head forward. Debuchy did something similar so I don’t understand why people are saying he should be sent off. He was the best player on the park. Wish he was playing for us.

  • 44 stuart no9 // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:12 PM

the less said about the first half the better.
Pardew cant set his team out every week to defend from the off . If you dont attack , you wont score goals., however , beaten by a team who has played 3 games in 6 days. Oh and 1 of them was in europe mr pardew.

  • 45 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:12 PM

manxpie…just stop with this crap and try to grasp what I am saying or leave it be! Either way is fine with me!

  • 46 Jamesthefirst // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:13 PM

Only HBA (ill) and Cisse (injured) could have changed the game. We didn’t invest in the summer so Pardew had no proper players to bring on.

If someone had said we would be 7th and above Man Utd with a few weeks to go until Christmas, I would take it.

After the HUGE decisions that went against us, and Rooney suspended for the game on Sat, we will be well fired up to beat them.

  • 47 John Tudor // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:13 PM

@37 sorry jim not with him in charge
even he said its pie in the sky

  • 48 nico // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:14 PM

We desperately need a centre forward in Jan. We won’t get one and won’t sign Remy. He will then go somewhere else next season.

  • 49 70TWO // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:14 PM

A little perspective is needed, midweek late night match away is always going to be a match that we would have to grind out a result. So to all those that say counter attack or sitting deep was wrong, did they score from tiki-taki/putting pressure on us? NO.
Santon for Hiadara, slightly left field but he does offer more going forward.
    Mbiwa for Willo, more pace?
Obertan for Shola, c#ck up! Tiki-taki wears down the midfield, Pardew should have put Anita. Unfortunately he did look slightly out of sorts last Saturday, but still we needed fresh legs in midfield!!!!

  • 50 John Tudor // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:15 PM

nico two pros are not wrong its the intent

  • 51 jimiley // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:15 PM

WE are better than Everton and they won at Manure. We can win there. Keep the faith in Sir Alan to get us 4th. Great season and a top team.

  • 52 Ted Bundy // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:15 PM

See the footballing savant TDS has vanished, after everyone called him out on his claim that Shelvey is a ST.

A tosser, speaking above his station, that likes to be contrarian for the sake of it.

  • 54 JP...from The Rock // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:15 PM

Why don’t we ever go for players like Shelvey and the like- good, hard working players that are a threat to the opposition?

  • 55 70TWO // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:16 PM

This game was a mirror image of the thumping at spurs last year ,if you sit back and invite good footballers on to you you will get a beating every now and again.
We beat spurs when we were fortunate but the luck ran out tonight had remys first half header gone in who knows
I hate these tactics but we are stuck with them while parsnip is in charge

  • 57 JackButler // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:17 PM

Yes it should have been a red but even if the ref had given it, it would not have changed the result.

The pen was not a pen according to the pundits.

Tonight has nothing to do with poor decisions by the Ref, bad luck or any other excuse people can dream up………………………we were simply poor, very, very poor.

We were overrun in midfield for 90 minutes and failed to do anything about it, if plan A doesn’t work we are knackered as we simply do not have a plan B or a manager capable of thinking on his feet

  • 58 croftus5678 // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:17 PM

debuchy and hairdryer where absolutely brilliant for us.

    krul was *&^%
williamson was decent but collo cant hack it.
cabaye played too deep and didnt effect the game really.
sissoko had a good game forthe majority of it.
goofy was avg same as tiote.
shola didnt really effect the game and remy was greedy as ever but then again i think i can forgive him for that seeing as he scores the majority of our goals.
obertan just needs shooting i’m afraid and santon did ok but not great.

in all swansea are hard to break down and with there main strikers injured should not have been a great goal threat hence hitting them on the break when they are weakest was a good tactic imo (but ofc i dont have the experiance i’m sure those with different opinions have)

  • 59 jimiley // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:17 PM

We will sell Krul and Cabaye and Remi will move on . Does it matter. We will sign other great players for peanuts. Top 4 is nailed on.

  • 60 yo-yo // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:17 PM

    Mr T

It takes two to tango and Swans just played their pressing possession game. The lads didn’t deliver – how do you really know they were told to sit back ? Were they really up for this game ? I don’t think so. They tend to get complacent after winning runs. Happens every time. Down to earth. You have nothing to support your opinion other than your prejudice against Pardew.
Trouble is Manure will be desperate Saturday and will be well up for it – we’ll need to play as motivated as Spuds and Chelski combined to get anything from that. I think most the problem tonight was they were lacking that edge, that motivation.

  • 61 lesh // Dec 4, 2013 at 10:18 PM

    Oh oh.

Four wins, one defeat and would you believe it, it’s sack Pardew time.

Get a grip, four wins, one possin’……. and it’s shake the cornflakes time!
