  • 2 89Norcal // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:03 PM

I actually want Scumderland to win today. Not as if they’re any threat to our position :)

Spurs on the other hand are still just 2 points behind us.

Derby day defeat all forgiven. This one of my happiest days following the Toon. I’m going to have good night tonight. I hate manure so much. This is so sweet.

    Jingle bells,
    Jingle bells,
    Jingle all the way,
    Oh what fun,
    It is to see,
    Newcastle win away!!!!!!!

Totally gutted missed the game as it was my lads birthday party but fcuk me what a result!!!!
Don’t know anything about the performance so if anyone has a link to some decent highlights it’s much appreciated!

Predicted a point, but always said Manure at Old Trafford were very doable
    Absolutely buzzing

Credit to Pardew for taking the blame for the Swansea result where he did get it wrong, we have a very good squad which makes results and performances like that against Swansea so damn frustrating.

He deserves to be slaughtered when he gets it wrong but deserves to be praised when he gets its right and he DID get it right today :D

    jack i totally agree
but on anita did you see my half time post?
i said he wasn’t in the game at all but with his presence there the team were playing well i.e tiote n cabeye ran the midfield ?

  • 7 Novocastrian66 // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:05 PM

    Norcal No way.

  • 8 John Tudor // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:07 PM

at work no access to the game absolutely delighted for the team who knows what the future will bring

  • 9 89Norcal // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:07 PM

Come on Novo, we can still settle the score with them in Feb.

But we are different class now. Not to get ahead of ourselves but we should keep momentum and aim higher. Just all about getting us to show up on derby day now.

Plz MA give us some belated xmas gifts…

  • 10 Ciaran // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:07 PM

Interesting to see a number of the more critical posters comment on how delighted they are with the victory today. Could it be that Mike Ashley’s critics actually do want to see the team do well? Well I never…

  • 11 MacToon // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:07 PM

Great win today, well done the Toon.

Clearly Man U have as poor a squad/team as I’ve seen in a long while and Moyles will need time to stamp his mark on the team but we can only beat what is put infront of us and we certainly deserved this win today.

Shame it’s taken so long to win at OT but hope we don’t wait another 40+ years for our next one.

Debuchy and Tiote pick of the team for me.

  • 12 JackButler // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:09 PM

    manxpie

Anita is the link that our midfield needs, he allows Cabaye to play further upfield and allows Tiote to concentrate on simply disrupting the opposition play.

It’s my biggest gripe with Pardew as we have the players he simply needs to use them.

    Cabaye – Tiote – Anita

    Sissoko – Remy – Gouffran

Is the formation we need to stick with.

    Chelsea losing to Stoke :D

  • 16 JackButler // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:12 PM

    Ciaran

For those (the both of us ;) ) who have slaughtered Pardew and Ashley have only done so as we want to see the best for the club that we all love, it’s not for the sake of being winging, miserable git’s, it’s because we love the club and always will :D

for the first time that I can remember under pardew. , he got the game right FOR90 mins,

normally he bottles it , and starts to defend , this time he went to win, so well done pardew on that,

I said before the game I don’t rate Man U , bunch of hyped up kids and over the hill players with a manager that I only just rate better than pardew,

many contenders for man of the match , I went for tiote, but could easly have been remy , cabaye Anita , debuchy and Williams , all had top games

again , well done pardew on a great 90 minutes

  • 18 Ciaran // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:14 PM

    Manx

Much need for the childish name calling? Bit playground don’t you think?

Anyway, work comes calling, I will bid you all farewell!

  • 19 manxpie // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:14 PM

    jack not any more :)
yeah but i asure u anita didn’t do anything in the 1st half i mean i’m not even sure if he touched the ball but for me his presence made tiote play like his 1st season so all good
maybe a defo for away games not so sure for home

  • 20 MacToon // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:15 PM

    Someone’s hacked Catchy’s account ;-)

  • 21 beddersmag // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:15 PM

Interesting conversation the other night with a guy who worked in a senior position for ashley for a number of years and after a few jars he spilled many a bean.

Cant remember everything and might not be quoting word for word but here goes….

Yes newcastle is simply business. He couldnt care less about the fans but thought he could make money. Closest club to his heart is chelsea. On england trips ashley used to use private jets to take bags of money and pay of top purchasing managers like nike etc in return for the best prices on his gear.

Told me in all seriousness not to mention any of his details to friends as ashley might have him killled

  • 22 89Norcal // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:16 PM

    catchy
    I can’t believe my eyes.

well you’re still clueless to think this is the only game he got tactics right i suppose.

  • 23 manxpie // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:17 PM

ruddy jesus and u called me sensetive lol again it was tongue in cheek no offence intended
i think ya in shock mate have a fizzy drink

  • 24 catchy in norway // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:17 PM

    mactoon

I said before the game , the only one who could fcuk it up would be pardew

was so happy to see shola not start and Anita to get his chance,

it was more attack minded from the off

  • 25 beddersmag // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:18 PM

He was a top squash player in his youth, think national champion hntil injury and won his first shop in a game of squash. Trouble was he only got the lease. But his dad gave him 10k for stock. He claims to be self made but this was quite an amount in around 1981.

Later he went on to sack his dad 3 times. I didnt get any detail why, or why he kept employing him again. But shows how ruthless he is.

  • 26 Ted Bundy // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:18 PM

It’s took Catchy since full-time to painstakingly type that, each excruciating key pressed with a wince.

  • 27 Novocastrian66 // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:18 PM

Norcal I know we’re better than them but give them nowt. Sooner they’re relegated the better hopefully they will stay down too.

  • 28 JackButler // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:19 PM

    manx

It’s having that extra body alongside them that allows Tiote and Cabaye to focus on what they do best instead of covering each other.

For me Anita is the one player that ties everything together and should be playing every game as when he plays we see the best from Cabaye and Tiote

  • 29 saxonfenken // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:22 PM

    What a load of rubbish

  • 30 MacToon // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:24 PM

I agree Catchy, it’s always a shame when Pardew seems to try and shut up shop when we look like we could go on and score more. Today we kept up the pressure and finished the stronger side.

  • 31 manxpie // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:28 PM

jack yeah but our form before that and tbh cabeye wasn’t on the ball as much as usual i’ll still say imo the reaction to the swansea game was well over the top
but i agree today as a full team we looked very strong but our attacking side that we seen in them 4 wins wasn’t there
as i said maybe a good tactical change for home and away games could see us well this season

  • 32 NEWEXPATMAGPIE // Dec 7, 2013 at 4:42 PM

Actually managed to see the game live today on Fox TV, who are the new Satelite company here in Holland !

The commentators in the Studio were on about how Moyes is trying to use the same tactics and bringing in the same players, trainers and staff that he had at Everton.

If that is so? No idea, but he has Fellaini, ex Everton, he also has Saha, also a former Everton player, And Rooney was also originally from? Oh yeh, Everton !

The game, well we rode our luck but Manure did,nt play as well as we all know that they can?

The Penalty which we should of had at Swansea?
Well Manure had a good call for a Penalty when Anita handled off the post in the second half, not given, but then we should of had a Penalty against the Swans and Shelvey should of had a Red when he had his run-in with Debuchy last week?
With a decent Ref, we can compete with the top four?

The loss mid week had everything to do with how Howard Webb officiated, and nothing to do with how the Swans played! wE did,nt have a fair playing field on wednesday, and Webb had a bad game, which Swansea took advantage of!

Today, the Ref had a good game, and what was really pleasing was seeing how the fourth official dared to give van Persie,s headed goal Off-side, Lord love her, what shall their fans have been calling her names from behind her?

Now we have Crystal Palace at home, Southampton away, and then Stoke at home and on paper anyways, should be able to accumulate some more points and who knows even go higher than we are now?
One game at a time, however, lets not get ahead of ouselves?

Enjoy the moment and a good win at Old Trafford, the first for more tha 40 yerars!

    Beddarsmag @ 21 & @ 25:

Sorry but i don,t believe you for one minute, now cue the insults and name calling?

Reading previous anti-Ashley blogs makes you wonder why he bothers with us, until the incident when so called Toon supporters actually threatened his family his daughter used to be at every game with him but not any more, dont think many parents would tolerate their family being threatend ,& this was just because the man wouldn’t shell out huge wads of his own money to buy players, he said from the beginning that the club would have to eventually have to finance its self .perhaps when the UEFA fair play rules come into effect next season we may see how clever Mike Ashley has really been
