Newcastle Linked With Dutch International

Newcastle need to bring in a striker in this January’s transfer window and maybe the two top favorites are Gomis, who we were after last summer, and now comes a t a reduced fee, and Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason, who would cost around £5M.

Luuk de Jong – 23 year-old former Newcastle target

But a former target, Dutchman Luuk de Jong is being made available by his new club Borussia Monchengladbach, and since he moved there in preference to Newcastle eighteen months ago, he’s had a rough time of it.

The German club paid around £12M for the striker in June of last year, but he’s not had a successful time of it in Germany, and could be available for about half that price next summer, but it seems that his German club would like to loan him out next month.

The Mirror is reporting today that Stoke City are also looking at a January move for the 23-year-old 7 times capped Dutch International.

It’s difficult to know who Newcastle have as their number one striker target next month, but it would seem reasonable that it would still be Bafe Gomis, who is six months older and about £5M cheaper than he was when we were after him last summer.

What do you think?

Couldn’t see the words last six months of his contract, I think we’ll forget about Fingbosson.

    Repost;
I’m still on Ibiza’s fence when it comes to Ashley – I can see good and bad things he has done. However I think we can all agree that the January transfer window will surely show the true extent of his ambition. If we don’t buy anybody then surely that shows mid-table mediocrity is his target but if we do buy then maybe he does have higher targets!

Himanshu – why would you heap more misery on ManU? They have enough problems.

    martoon,
Ibiza doesn’t occupy a fence anymore concerning Mike Ashley, he has realised he is a very bad man who makes Walter White look very humane.

For me the good things that ashley has been done have been either desperate acts or accidents.

    Just my thoughts.

    Jail,

Just seen ypur reply which is typical.

All you do is focus on any negatives you can find and ignore the fact that 99% of the pre-season hysteria was just that. Hysteria.

    Mr Tuff

I’ve also been to Paulliac – sailed up La Gironde (used to do yacht deliveries) and the Rothcschild vineyard is between a chemical works and a timber yard – opposite a nuclear power station from what I can remember. Medoc wines are superb though – and possibly more enjoyable than Wolfshead’s acid 🙂
