I Really Want To Win This One – But It Could Be Difficult

The big challenge for Newcastle this Saturday is to forget about what happened at Old Trafford last Saturday, and be ready for a tough game against Southampton, who are a very good side this season, and do all that’s necessary to get a home win against a team that is just below us in the league table.

Newcastle United v Chelsea- Barclays Premier League

Alan Pardew – the most important game is the next one

Alan has talked about the next game in his press conference today:

“The most important game is always the next one.”  “We’ve lost Yohan for the next game and that’s a blow to us.”  “But the way we have played has given me confidence to put any type of game plan in front of this group.”

“And they will do it to the best of their ability.”  “What we have to do is build on this now. We are in a great position.”  “We have a good side coming here against my old team, and I really want to win that – trust me!”

“We will be up for that one. Let’s hope we get a couple of breaks and get a win then too.”

Of course Alan Pardew was manager of Southampton when he was sacked in August three years ago, and in a short four months he found himself manager of Newcastle United, and apart form a disastrous season last season when we were in the Europa League and in danger of relegation, he has done well at Newcastle.

A win is what we need on Saturday, and with Southampton not being one of the top six sides in England – that could be difficult.

What do you think?

We will never have a better chance against Soton than this game on Saturday, they have hit a brick wall after having a really good start to the season and they have a huge injury list as well, complacency could be our downfall, we really do need to be on top of our game because even an out of form injury ridlded Soton could still beat us as they are still a decent side, concentration and professionalism should see us through.

On Saturday we need to play on the front foot and not be exposed to a counter, so a solid defensive unit is also required. They have plenty of injuries but still have dangerous individuals, so if we keep them in their own half that is half the job done. I would like to see the same formation as against ManU as it needs a bit more bedding in , but also presents the best balance between defense and attack, with the ability to control possession.

Get over it, you’re boring everyone. Also Mister Tuff was referencing my joke about Bill and Ted, which was a cartoon in the 90s and was made into a film, but of course that reference was over your head.

I think we should change as little as possible which to me means flip anitas switch to cabaye mode and put shola back in. its sort of 4-3-3/ 4-4-2. its basically the team that beat spurs, chelsea, norwich and west brom except anita is playing as a replacement cabaye isn’t it.
