An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #42JB – whatever it is -it manifests itself on the pitch. in all truthfulness he has probably been given more chances to try to regain his scoring than any other forward in the PL.
Obviously Percy must think one day he’ll re-kindle his scoring -which is good backing from a manager but in reality giving Cisse “practice time” in PL games on the off chance he scores seems more like hope instead of belief -and in the long run must cost us points/games.
It highlights the need to get another forward in who can hold up the play and bully defences. Shola has tried his best – but for a season in the PL it is not good enough. Tubbs needs to get the cheque book out.

Comment #45I’m fairly sure some people get players mixed up. Someone near me thought cisse missed that open goal.
Anita was poor from where I was sitting. Tiote was better but gave the ball away more than recently.
And in my own opinion man of the match was one of Coloccini or Debuchy.

Comment #46Next Mike Williamson are you joking? Our passing play lead to the best move of our season in the first half.
Their midfield links beautifully with their attack and with our 2 defensive mids doing a shift to stop them, we desperately lacked a Cabaye second half to utilise an attacking ball from deep. We missed having a midfield outlet for Remy, Sissoko and Gouffran – can’t be helped.
I agree we shouldn’t give Shola another year also but to criticise the bloke is silly. He is old and injury ravaged, but with a number of our players giving his best to get to the world cup. He had minimal impact today but you never know with playing him if he will lead to a flick on or knocl down for a goal. His recent form warranted a start and he got subbed anyway!

His confidence was shot to pieces last season by Pardew’s breath taking decision to change the winning formula that gave us fifth place simply to appease Ba. No doubt his time spent out on the right wing did nothing to hep the lad either.
Personally I think he wanted away in the summer and was either stopped from leaving or there was not enough interest in the lad. Either way I think he’s lost belief in the manager

Came with a game plan and it worked frustrate the TOON with niggly tackles and got away with all game.
Ok thought goal was offside seems like I was wrong but the linesman was miles behind play most of the game.
Should of been 3 up before half time if we had a bit more composure in front of goal.
My MOM was Anita closely followed by Debuchy

Comment #49Can’t criticise Mike Williamson at the moment. He hasn’t made many mistakes and was far worse when Simpson was in the team. We still need a centre back though as Coloccini may leave and Saylor and Willo aren’t great.
Toby Alderweireld may leave as he hasn’t been given a chance yet.

Comment #50Cantbuyye – if you could answer why or anybody else why Cisse’s form has changed so much it would be incredible. We all know he is a poacher as opposed to someone who makes his own chances. Whatever it is any remedies appear not to be working. so perhaps time to move on. The frustrating thing is -if we had another 3 quality players -fro the positions we are deficient in -we would be quite a few place higher up the table. To be so near -yet so far away – is frustrating.

Now that we’re nit picking other peoples opinions, Cisse came on at 61 mins and from an attacking perspective does he really look like influencing a game?
Benny game on at 73 mins and I just feel he should have been on earlier.
When an opposing team bring 2 quality attacking players on it is normal practice to react to that pretty sharpish by either a tactical formation change or subs. Just my opinion on what i thought was a great chance at 3 points pal.
As for Sissoko and Goofy doin the old swaparoony he gets them doin that all the time in most games i’ve witnessed which is a canny ploy i must admit.

Comment #52jack well it shows wat people are really looking for?
and tsunki but why is the main hatred for pardew the hatred really should only be aimed at the mistakes by the players!
hatred is the wrong word there but thats wat pardew gets

Comment #53The only gripe with cisse is that even when it isn’t happening for him he struts round like shola putting minimal effort in. He also tends to get some of the basics wrong like ball control, movement and anticipation (especially when it comes to knock-ons and being offside).
It’s no good in the modern game just being a finisher and having nothing else to your game. Look at how redundant Bent has become now he’s lost his pace.

Comment #54Manxpie I know there’s hatred for Pardew buy I am not really in that camp, I am just not a believer in him long term. He has good points but some of his bad ones, like reacting to change are pretty bad imho.

Comment #55uncertain well why don’t ya print the ammount of times they’ve swapped this season as ya nit picking because i’ve only seen it recently i.e the last few games
and how would you have changed the team?
would you have made it more defensive or bring on arfa and risk it
either way pardew would have got slated unless arfa changed the game which we already know is a 50-50 gamble

Comment #56toonking aye well we will probably never know mate but some of his performances on the pitch certainly ain’t in the pardew way of playing in the prem
tsunki that was my point really and as you said it was a small niggle by you i was more aiming at the people who blamed this game on pardew where as if the players did there jobs we should have scored 4

Comment #58I believe Pardew got his tactics wrong. He should have stuck with his 4-2-3-1 formation we did last week.

Comment #60shadow how many chances did we create last week?
i’m pretty sure we created more clear cut ones today just in the 1st half!
and isn’t that a defensive formation?
pardew would have got slated if he did that certainly if we’d lost and even if we got the same result

Comment #62It was a great game today and a fair result. We could have clinched it with Remy but somehow he missed a golden chance alone in the box.
What was really pleasing to see was our team lay for the whole 90 minutes. We ran our socks off today and again looked the better team.
Great performance from Tiote, Gouffran, Sissoko and especially Anita. What a game he had. I knew he was good and a slick passer of the ball but what about those dancing feet when closed down by 3 or 4 opponents! Very impressive and he did that without breaking a sweat which was all the more pleasing.
I expect much better things from this lad and Cabaye had better keep being on his game or else this little lad will definitely take his spot.

I would not have brought Cisse on as we needed to go a five man midfield as Lallana changed the game for Southampton but Pardew brought on a striker and left our midfield change until the 73 minute.

I’ve seen goofy and sissoko swap quite a few times mate, but, alas, I do not have the DVD’s to answer your query! Apologies for that!
I would have liked to see an attempt to shove it right up them from the off in the 2nd half mate so probably benny on first. Try and put the game to bed then cisse on when we’re in a comfortable position and get him up and running.
Obviously that is an ideal situation and I appreciate they don’t come along very often for us!
I reckon he brought Santon off coz he’s not doin as he’s told and ultimately ends up dropping a bollock.
Not sure what Remy was trying to do, top corner for the crowd maybe! why didn’t he just bladder it? I’d have him straight in the office watching shearer videos!
Certainly there was blame all over the manor today and I except it wasn’t all down to Pardew. I was only making an observation on our reaction to their subs.
2 points lost for me today mate.

Comment #65jack we were playing 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 by the end of the the 1st half with remy on the left so we had that extra man anyways infact it showed pardew clearly showing that on the screen
we conceded by a terrible ball by a defender that is it!
we deserved to win it by the actual chances we created, as in good play creating them chances
tell me the chances that southampton deserved to score from good play?

Comment #67i agree totally on 2 points lost mate and as i said i was just pointing out that pardew changed it in the 1st half where we scored and took a good hold of the game
and imo on arfa its a 50-50 with him and that is the reason for me why he has never reached his true potential
and at the end of the day its pardew who see’s cisse every day in training and he’s been lawding him up
but he reminded me today of when i got my 1st game for the “bigger boys” team i was so nervous i ran on with my coat still on lol
he just looks lost and nervous
a good point the commentator made is that at the minute our players are so confident that they want the ball
such a contrast to last season
and btw we’ve actuallly moved up to 6th! so hope for a liverpool, villa wins tomorra
