Cheick Tiote in action this afternoon
Newcastle drew their home game with Southampton 1-1 today, after Yoan Gouffran had scored his sixth goal of the season in the first half, but then Rodriguez equalized after 66 minutes with an excellent finish for the Saints, who looked a good side today.

Comment #1what a rubbish display from Remy & Tiote, Remy missed a sitter and Tiote could of played the ball through to Debuchy on the right who wasn’t being marked but instead he blasts it
MOM Anita followed by Sissoko, Gouffran, Debuchy

Comment #5Well fellow fans – that is a lesson in how to give away two precious points.
Which forward has arguably been in the worst form for the last year – who offers nothing to teamwork – and his one attribute of scoring spectaculars has been lost. Yes it’s Cisse. Why the hell bring him on to replace Shola. should have been Benny. There were a few applauding this decision on here. Boys you need to change your game in all seriousness. Two easily lost points.

Comment #7Anita and Marveaux would be great in the same team. We can’t kill teams off. We need more strikers and a playmaker plus a centre back.

Comment #9Missed opportunity. Frustrating.
Santon at fault for their goal and that changed the course of the game. Could have gone either way in the end.
Cissee is useless and the sooner we’re shot the better. HBA isn’t doing enough from the bench, despite flashes of skill they lead to nothing, when we have genuine chances and it’s on him to make the critical pass selection, he still fuffs his lines and makes the wrong decision all too often. Remy extremely poor and we can’t have him misfiring too, his missed chance is one for the gaffs dvds.
MOTM – Debuchy – true winner we have there, determination personified, could play for any team in the league..

Comment #11Still we need 7-9 points from the next 4 games to say we ended 2013 with a really good record. The next two games we must win. We have everything to lose there. Then get a draw at least against Arsenal at home. WBA also a winnable game. 8 to 9 points will be good. 10 and above will be amazing. under 7 will be very bad.

In all fairness Benny p1ssed away possession and was shocking in front if goal, neither had a positive impact

Southampton did us with the subs at half time. I think it was pretty obvious they were going to change it.
We were to slow to react to that again! Pardew struggles to react or is to slow in reacting unfortunately.

Comment #15I dont think that was a real “mistake” from Santon. How could he have predicted that sequence of events.
When remy missed that chance from the keeper error , it looked like it wasnt going to be our day.
So now we have Remy,Ameobi and Cisse all goal shy ?? Hmmm..

Comment #18It was 2 points thrown away – absolutely no need for it. As the home team, why do we allow them the vast majority of the possession?? Its sheer lunacy – if you dont have the ball, you cant score goals and if you dont score more than the oposition, you go nowhere.

Comment #19Not to moan at pardew as I think he’s doing a good job but HBA deserves a place 10 times more than cisse. HBA looked the only one capable of getting us the winner today.
Tiote and debuchy for me today.
Debuchy is the best right back I’ve ever seen at Newcastle.

Comment #21Yet more rubbish this time about HBA some of you are watching different matches I swear. When him and Haidara came on we were all over them, Hatem won several corners and importantly lost very few balls. How can Cisse’s be rubbish in that space of time? Did Shola or Remy score? No in fact Remy should have had 2.

Comment #22It was a mistake, he jeopardised the team shape and contingency by thrusting forward and conceding possession cheaply, when he simply should have recycled it. He took an unnecessary gamble and then gave the ball away – a mistake.

Comment #23Sissoko for me. I was going to vote Anita, but he seemed to run out of gas in the last 15 minutes. Willo and Debuchy were solid, too.

it’s not that pardew is slow to react. the real problem is remy was at the start of the season our only goal scoring forward and the last few games he has go silent and is now missing sitters.
the problem for pardew is who does he have on the bench that he is confident will score.
the answer you see is non.
cisse just doesn’t know how to remain on side
HBA a total show off and never looks for them passes
now our main threats are cabaye who was suspended and cabaye.
pardew’s mistake was taking off shola and goufran because it’s them two who help the greedy players like HBA and remy score but without them defenders will be constantly closing them down.

Just because people saw it different to you doesn’t make it rubbish does it?
He won a couple of corners then had one played short and made completely the wrong choice, Southampton broke
He had an equally as great of a chance as Remy, who was very poor today, and took an in needed touch and the chance had gone
He then went into Benny mode and started trying to take the team on and I just didn’t work
He, along with Cisse and Remy were extremely wasteful and ineffectual up top today

Comment #34Why is Obertan on the bench he has done nothing, Marveaux should be because well he is GOOD. He has ability and good skill. Obertan is apparently “quick” is he? Well because he has done next to nothing with “his pace.”
