We’ve Won A Lot Of Matches – The Spirit Is Very Good

As we mentioned earlier today Alan Pardew has said that Yohan Cabaye will return to the starting line-up against Crystal Palace on Saturday, because of his immense creativity in the middle of the park, and it’s now a question of who drops to the bench.

Vurnon Anita – the team spirit is very good

But it would well be Vurnon Anita, who had another good game in the heart of the Newcastle midfield alongside Cheick Tiote on Saturday against the Saints.

And whenever this lad has played this season, he’s always put in a good performance and he is a very tidy player – as you would expect from his Ajax background.

Vurnon has talked today about our opponents on Saturday, and Palace have improved quickly and are much more organized since former Stoke manager Tony Pulis took over as manager:

“We have won a lot of matches, and the spirit is very good,” “But we must keep it up, work hard and the next game, hopefully we win.”

“I think it will be tougher than this game because they need the points and so do we. It will be a hard game.”

Vurnon had a difficult season last season after he arrived from Ajax for £6.8M eighteen months ago, but he has now adjusted well to the Premier League, and he is one of a number of players pushing for a first team start on Tyneside.

The 5’6″ Dutch International has now played 52 times for the Magpies with one goal, and he is looking to be another very good acquisition for the Tyneside club.

He may stand only 5’6″ tall, but he could become an immense player for Newcastle in the season ahead.

What do you think?

Jesper the type of phone is important, if it’s an iPhone you are probably best leaving it in the toilet.

Good shout about not putting it in a bag of rice, should be pasta twists every time, preferably tricolore. If you are going to cook the pasta afterwards boil it really really well. Then throw it away what were you thinking? 🙁

On topic, nice to hear a player who is not guaranteed a start say the team spirit is good.

What are peoples opinions on krul taking basically all free kicks in our own half and hoofing into box? Bet vurnon gets so frustrated, but then again, creates a few goals. Doesn’t look pretty though.

    Jonny
Krul did my HEED in on Saturday.
Great shot-stopper and reflex keeper but his distribution was poor.
time and time again full backs and Centre backs came short and wide to receive the ball in space but instead of quickly rolling/throwing the ball to them he held on to the ball and to late they were closed down so he had to hoof it long then the ball becomes a fifty fifty ball.

Team for Saturday same as game against Man United with 5 man midfield

Krul needs to watch videos of Pepe Reina to improve his distribution .

Reina is one of the best I have seen in the PL at long & short range passing . His vision was brilliant for a keeper .

BPC, its been a really long time since the Toon fielded a keeper with good distribution. Probably the last one I saw would be Tommy the Barman, or McFaul, and neither of them was brilliant.

Can anyone really see the Mackems staying up this season?
Has anyone stayed up when planted well and truly on the bottom of the table at Xmas?

@13, I have a funny feeling they will survive, but it’s going to be close for them. There are a couple of mackems fans at work and they are convinced that they are going down, but I suspect they have the right man in Poyet, and he will pull them up in the nick of time.

Much as I would agree that seeing Sunderland relegated is a great source of joy to me, I want them to be in the Prem next season, purely so we can go to town on them next season at home, and put right the wrongs of this season. After that they can disappear to the Conference and beyond as far as I’m concerned.

The Toon do not want to be in Europa Cup (ask Pardew – as it makes us crap in the league) so this crap Cup is a waste of time. Good luck to the sad Mackems if they win it. It is bollocks. League status is everything. Top 8 finish is much better than a crap cup.

so avb’s got about 15mil + in 3 years for gettin sacked not bad at all
and yo yo what a stupid idea so a club invests 50 million in a player and then he goes of form and gets dropped, he can then instantly hand in his notice and that investment is worth potentially a 5th or less!
that guy seems to forget that these players still get payed there crazy wages even when there injured for a year or not playing (working)!
thats 2 frenchmen with crazy ideas recently with the platini sin bin idea! it shows how people who get to a certain level of power like to try and make there mark and god forbid if any of these crazy idea’s get through!
