Big Decisions To Be Made By This Newcastle Player

Steven Taylor has had an almost non-existent season at Newcastle, as far as first team appearances go, and after starting at the Etihad Stadium in the first game of the season, Steven managed to get himself sent off just before half time, to make a bad situation even worse, and he hasn’t played in the first team since then, and over the last six games or so, cannot even make the bench.

Steven Taylor – some big decisions to make

Along with Shola Ameobi, Steven has been one of two local players who came though the Youth Academy, and have played regularly for Newcastle over the last ten years or so.

And there’s news that Joe Kinnear is offering a new contract to the player he always rated highly, when he managed Newcastle back in our promotion season.

And last season Taylor was playing so well that he was called up to the England squad, but didn’t get his first cap,  but now Steven is considering where he stands at his local club, and may even go out on loan next month, and Harry Redknapp of QPR is already interested.

The news is that the 27 year-old is talking to Newcastle about his future, and there has even been talk of a permanent move away from Newcastle, but we’d be surprised if that happens next month.

It’s better that he get some first team football for the rest of the season elsewhere, and then come back in pre-season and fight for his place.

And at that time if things look as bleak as they seem to look at the moment, that may be the time to think of leaving his home town club to get first team football elsewhere.

But rash decisions shouldn’t be made next month.

Never mind this talk of a loan, tell him to pull his socks up and wait for his chance !

He should take a look at Willo and how he has dug in and faught for his place in the team.

If we could get the S Taylor back from 2 years ago, when he suddenly stopped the rash challenges and the ‘rush keeper’ handballs, then I would be delighted to see him walk straight back into the team. Meanwhile in the real world, I totally agree with pigeon @ post 2.

The reason he wants a loan now is because he actually think that he has a chance of going to the WC… Well Saylor, I love your passion for this club, but I am afraid that boat sailed a looooooong time ago.

In my opinion, if someone have to go, I rather it be colo, coz it is obvious that he have repeatedly state that he wanted to leave the team.

I don’t see Saylor going out on loan
unless we sign a new CB in January.

Otherwise, one injury and we would
be too short at the back.

Taylor is an average defender and 55k per week is ridiculous. Could easily get someone better in on that sort of wage. I reckon that kinnear is offering a new contract on the basis of ‘your not going to be first team here so we will give you a new contract on 30k per week, take it or leave it’
