Anita, Cabaye Start – Shola Ameobi On Bench

Crystal Palace .svgnufc emblem

Alan Pardew has just announced his side for the game this afternoon against Crystal Palace, and Vurnon Anita keeps his place in a  4-3-3 formation.

It seems that the Newcastle manager will attack Palace, and this is the same team that started in that great win at Old Trafford a couple of weeks ago.

And as expected Yohan Cabaye is back in the starting line-up as Alan Pardew had mentioned last week.

The front three are all Frenchmen with Sissoko, Remy and Gouffran, and we should see Ben Arfa in the second half, maybe in place of Gouffran at some point.

It should be a good game this afternoon, and it would be great if we can get all 3 points.

Howay The Lads!!

Crystal Palace: (4-3-3): Julian Speroni; Adrian Mariappa, Danny Gabbidon, Damien Delaney, Dean Moxey; Jason Puncheon, Joel Ward, Mile Jedinak, Barry Bannan; Marouane Chamakh, Cameron Jerome
Substitutes: Lewis Price, Jonathan Parr, Jose Campana, Jonathan Williams, Yannick Bolasie, Kevin Phillips, Dwight Gayle.

Newcastle (4-3-3): Tim Krul; Mathieu Debuchy, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Davide Santon; Vurnon Anita, Cheick Tiote, Yohan Cabaye; Moussa Sissoko, Loic Remy, Yoan Gouffran
Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Massadio Haidara, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Gabriel Obertan, Hatem Ben Arfa, Papiss Cisse, Shola Ameobi

Pace in attack the recipe of the day! Counter with Anita and Cabaye’s early releases. Hopefully we see a similar performance to that of the heralded one against West Brom in the 5th season..

With coloshitty in the starting line up we can kiss a clean sheet goodbye.
Look out for the following coloshittisms today:
    1. Ball watching .
    2. Being useless.
    3. Not contestng headers
    4. Diving into tackles unecessarily.
    5. Drifting away from central defence where he should be to “heroically” santon or debuchy.
    6. Being outmuscled by big centre forwards.
    7. Being outrun by little centreforwards.
    8. Being vulnerable be to simple diagonal long balls

Great team for an away day.

The trio of Cabaye, Tiote & Anita will boss the midfield and we will counter with the pace of Sissoko, Gouffran & Remy.

We should be far too strong for them today, 2-0 NUFC Gouffran & Remy .

    HWTL .

We will need Cabaye and Anita to get forward to support Remy. We should attack from the start instead of starting the game with a defensive mindset. Thats ok away to Man Utd but this is Palace

I was woondering if EPL games broadcast in the Indian Continental region are commented on by local homegrown (and not very weel informed) pundits? It might explain why posters from those places tend to have a skewed idea on certain players and football technicalities. Just saying, not generalising but it seems that posters from that far afield invariably latch onto certain players with an almost rabid pessimism, seems like an idea implanted by bad suggestion. Just a theory.

Sorry i meant Sissoko instead of HBA, I think its a good game for HBA as a starter. And to answer your question, tads, yes I will. Just check my name, I’m a newcastle fan since the end of the 80’s. I just think that HBAis our best player and he s losing his confidence. Ted bundy, fck off.

Can’t argue sissoko being in there he’s been terrorising FB’s since moving out wide
HBA may well be losing confidence but he seriously needs to improve his game to get in the team, even his attacking part, his decision making has been poor lately and in all honesty an impact sub looks his best role at this moment

not so sure why people want HBA in the side….we have been on a great run since he was dropped. Whether people like him or not, think he is our best or worst player, the team is doing very well without him, so long may his absence continue as it means we are winning games.

Afternoon chaps, gave the blog a wide berth for a few days and it would appear that it is still dying a slow death. Puts paid to the notion that it was my fault doesn’t it?

On the team, I would have went HBA instead of Sissoko today on RW but it doesn’t bother me that Pards has decided to leave HBA on the bench again.

Glad to see that we’re set up to keep the ball on the deck today, man for man, we should be much too good for Palace, but they are going through a mini resurgence under Pulis so it could be a tough one.

    I’ll go for a 1-1 draw.

I don’t mind people having opinions on certain players, everyone has a different idea of the game, not one set way for a team to be successful otherwise people would all manage the same, play the same etc

I just don’t think HBA does enough, doesn’t work hard enough in defence or attack. We aren’t a team like mardid, barca, bayern, etc who batter teams and can afford to leave players who don’t work hard enough.

I don’t rate HBA that highly, technically he is one of the best i’ve ever seen, especially the way he moves past people with ease. But the lad, at all of his clubs, including title winning teams in france, has never been the dominant player he should be.

Many have been crying out for a midfield 3 of Cabaye, Anita and Tiote. Will be interesting how Anita is deployed and whether they can compliment each other. With that much passing ability in our midfield we should be able to keep the ball and control the midfield.

    In theory, of course.

I think we should seriously consider getting a replacement for Colo as soon as possible. Whilst on the ball he is pretty good -cool/calm and decent distribution, however on the defensive side he is regressing – ball watches, misses the runner etc.
How in God’s Heaven can Obertan even get on the bench. He is absolutely useless – I can say that at the moment Percy is doing much better than I thought he would this season -however what again and again fuels that element of doubt about him is constantly backing Obertan. I understand it might be a bit of psychology but if Obertan was going to make it in the PL he would be producing the goods right now.
