Newcastle Transfer Business This Year Paying Off

Yohan Cabaye had another good game for Newcastle this afternoon at Crystal Palace, scored the first goal, and is leading our poll for Newcastle’s best player with 41% of the vote.

Yohan Cabaye – after scoring Newcastle’s crucial first goal
Newcastle played well throughout this game, although Crystal Palace tried to raise their game in the second half, and were successful to a small extent.

But after Ben Arfa came on with just over 10 minutes to play, the French International must have created four chances, and it seemed the Frenchman had something to prove and he made another great cameo appearance for the side today.

Yohan Cabaye has enormous skill and he was the star man for Newcastle today, and he was interviewed after the game on the Newcastle web-site:

“Moussa and Mathieu are in great shape at the moment,” “We have to enjoy them when they are playing together like this.” “We have done very well down that side, especially today.”

“The way they were together, their passing and crossing, was brilliant.”  “A lot of our attacks came from that side and that helped us win the game, but everyone was excellent all over the pitch.”

“It is always difficult to play against a team who fighting relegation,”  “We knew this place would be hard, with a small pitch and a good atmosphere, but we had a good mentality.”

“To win, score three goals and keep a clean sheet was perfect before two home games.”  “It helps us stay high in the league, where we want to be.”

There were five Frenchmen who started this game for Newcastle and four of them – Mathieu Debuchy, Moussa Sissoko, Yoan Gouffran and Loic Remy – were signed this year by Newcastle.

That shows just how well Newcastle have done in the transfer market this year, even though the summer was a big disappointment for Newcastle fans, and why we are 3 points better of than we were two years ago – and Newcastle are flying high at the moment.

We should have brought more players in during last summer, but the players we have brought in this year, have been first class signings for the club.

It’s really hard to argue with that.

It is good to see you back on the blog but I would be sorry if you really choose not to pass on what titbits you may glean along the way.
By contrast I had rather hoped that Ciaran/Ruddy’s recent absence indicated that Ed had banned him. No such luck it would seem.
I’m sure that I am not the only person who rarely posts but reads each day and is fed up by his tedious and studied offensiveness toward posters such as you. Yes his comment about ITKs was directed at you, consistent with his attack on Nov 24th.
The daft thing is that he can write well and make good points. But whilst he is noxious to posters here and towards Ed himself I, for one, am ignoring his blog.
I suspect that in the end he is driven by the green eyed monster – he doesn’t like the obvious esteem that others hold you in and is determined to drag you down.
Post what you like in January.
