Finally an English player scored for NUFC! Finally.

  • 4 NUFCarter // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:08 PM

Great performance! and did the world of good to our goal difference. Sissoko, Debuchy or Cabaye MOTM. i think the last time we won 3-0 was against Wigan at the DW when Figueroa got sent off!
    Ecstatic Once again :)

    Manxpie…..I’d forgotten about catchy…..lol

  • 6 NUFCarter // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:09 PM

I went for Sissoko. Assisted Cabaye and was an absolute beast down that right all game.

  • 7 NUFCarter // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:10 PM

Mike Williamson could have scored today, oh i dream of the day

  • 8 toonking // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:10 PM

    MOTM cabaye
debuchy and sissoko are very close second but the reason cabaye is my MOTM is he had done a great job in helping link up the defence and attack. sissoko might create the chances but they would have been nothing if cabaye was missing.

  • 9 kenzie // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:11 PM

@ Dhingra- er well gabbidon is welsh

  • 10 manxpie // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:12 PM

clinath sorry for reminding ya, ya just know he’ll be on at some point and say well it was only palace and we should have won 10-0 blah blah
but i will actually ignore him today!

  • 11 clinath@ed // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:13 PM

    Kenzie….brilliant.

  • 12 NUFCarter // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:13 PM

Shame Gabbidons Welsh. Guess its up to Williamson then.

  • 13 manxpie // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:14 PM

    carter he could’ve scored 2!!!
but i think the whole world would’ve imploded if that happened

  • 14 clinath@ed // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:14 PM

    Manxpie….hopefully he’ll hibernate for Christmas!

  • 15 Ted Bundy // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:15 PM

The placid blog of contentment – what I like to see.

  • 16 toonking // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:16 PM

@ 3 do you actually follow our games right through

if you saying gabbidon who is welsh can be accepted as a English played we have had an enlish one score already called paul dummett who himself is welsh.

  • 17 wolfshead@toon // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:16 PM

is it too early to worry about remy missing chances

  • 18 MosesNUFC // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:16 PM

    totally agree ted

  • 19 manxpie // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:17 PM

clinath nah i’m hoping the whole winter mate! :)

  • 20 ballerfan2 // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:19 PM

…… Whereas Dummet, scorer against Liverpool is English despite playing for Wales due to his family connection.

  • 21 OhSholaAmeobi // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:20 PM

    wolfshead

he didn’t get any chances today to miss!

  • 22 JaxtheMag // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:21 PM

great win. but I worry about santon, and krull does some daft things,

  • 23 USAGEORDIE // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:21 PM

I think we give remy a rest against Stoke. Run Gouffy at CF and Ben Arfa on the wing. I love the 4-3-3!

  • 24 theartfuldodger // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:22 PM

Win looked comfortable. Hardly any heart-in-the-mouth moments. I could eat as well while watching the second half.

  • 25 ToonDarnSarf // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:23 PM

2-0, 3-0, don’t care. 3 points today and 30 points at Christmas is excellent! 67% possession according to the BBC.

I’m still predicting 8th but it would be very nice to have a tilt at the European places!

  • 26 MosesNUFC // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:23 PM

As i didn’t watch it, overall did we really control the game and carried on attacking throughout?

  • 27 manxpie // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:23 PM

i think remy needs a rest tbh he really just doesn’t look that sharp at the mo
maybe cisse might see it as a chance and spur him on abit

  • 28 TorqToon // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:28 PM

Cracking result! But let’s not get over excited! Still a long way to go and we will lose the core of our squad in the January window, and then the rest in the summer.

Just thought the blog wasn’t the same without ridiculous negativity to thought I’d chip in! :-)

Excellent, text book win. Selection, substitutions and tactics were spot on yet again. Well done Pards!

  • 29 Tsunki // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:29 PM

Toonbothere about? No? Oh, shame. Thought he might repost his anti-Colo theory again. And btw that nugget jeff is a manure fan, outed himself by accident the other day when he revealed he was searching for his teams shirts. Numbnut ha ha :)

Great win, men v boys. We could and should have had 6. HBA has some impact mind, should be played a little further forward imo.

  • 30 santonthenewmaldini // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:30 PM

The most complete performance by our team this season could have easily been 4 , 5 ,6 nil and Palace could have had no complaints they were bullied by Sissoko , Tiote , Anita and Debuchy which allowed Cabaye to express himself and boy did he do just that he was everywhere in that 1st half and had so many good chances

Thought Santon and Remy looked pretty jaded and poor could possibly do with being rested or dropped for Arfa and Haidara

Arfa looked great in the sort of free role he had he should start against Stoke because I think he would be in the mood to destroy them could replace Remy with him and see how that goes

We need to play 3 in midfield because the trio we have is head and shoulders above most teams and we will dominate teams playing 2 means we lose possession a lot because we get out numbered

Great away day now spank Stoke on boxing day!

  • 31 clinath@ed // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:30 PM

We seem to have found a formation, with the right personnel that works for us. Today’s setup appears to be the blueprint for away games at least.

  • 32 OhSholaAmeobi // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:30 PM

    torq

haha, for the record, we lost carroll to a big deal, enrique and ba to agents/clauses and nolan because of a contract dispute/cabaye coming in. not as much of a ‘selling club’ as people seem to think.

  • 33 Tsunki // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:30 PM

Are we really only two wins away from top? :)

  • 34 toonking // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:32 PM

the next game against stoke I’m thinking would be a good one drop remy and give HBA a chance himself.

I am normally a critic and don’t like him starting but that is when it means dropping sissoko and gouffran who are 2 great wingers that do very good link up play with the FB’s, something HBA doesn’t do.

  • 35 Tsunki // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:32 PM

I think its a decent shout to bench Remy for HBA. Seems to be Pardews thing these days, drop those not producing the goods.

  • 36 clinath@ed // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:35 PM

The most pleasing aspect for me, was that the team was picked to win the game OUR way…and not a setup to nullify CP. No respect deserved and non shown.

  • 37 Mister Tuff // Dec 21, 2013 at 5:36 PM

Good result. I thought everyone on here was positive today -celebrating a decent result. Really don’t need our infrequent poster (matchday poster) to pop on and talk about ridiculous negativity. Don’t need it really.
