Newcastle players celebrate Newcastle’s first goal yesterday

Here is the best video we have at the moment of the goals from yesterday’s 5-1 win, after Dailymotion deleted their highlights for whatever reason.

Newcastle remain in 6th place in the league, but gained 3 points on Everton who were beaten 1-0 at Sunderland.

Some of you guys are an absolute joke. Slagging the team off rotten in the first half and then making out that it was a tremendous performance in the second.

Fantastic result, great run for us, but beating 9 man Stoke at home is hardly deserving of that much praise.

Definitely an exciting time to be a Newcastle fan and we’re looking better and better for the top 8.

First off cracking result in the end.

But we seem to be getting carried away a bit. Even before today Stoke had one of the worst records for goals conceded away from home. We managed 4 in 45 minutes which sounds good, but taking into account their 9 men, isn’t anything that special. They are a very average side to start with.

In the first 45 we were second best. Outplayed, out passed and out fought. Once they had a player dismissed the complexion changed.

The saying goes you can only beat what is in front of you, and we did that comfortably, but the only part of the game worth looking at and analysing in terms of what we did well and what we did badly is the opening 40-45, which really doesn’t make us look good.

HBA looked great when they were down to 9, he is great at running at players and with all that extra space the game was made for him. Unlucky not to score.

Still, I agree with Blaydon on the changes for Arsenal Tiote in for HBA and Mbiwa for Santon.

Our performance 1st half was dreadful and much improved in the 2nd half. Obviously the 2 red cards have a hand in that but you cannot slate people for being happy with the way we attacked in the 2nd half. Get off your high horse.

Very poor first 45 but decent showing second half as you’d expect playing 9 man stoke at home. Nothing to get too carried away by but it showed good drive and commitment to continue scoring.!

A much needed boost to our goal difference and it’s about time we had a few decisions go our way as we must of had at least 4/5 pens not given before

Isn’t it funny how TDS always has an excuse to be slating someone or other. Either they are too negative about the owner/manager/team or they are too positive about a 2nd half performance in which we scored 4 goals.

He is right though, some ‘fans’ are a joke. A joke that he himself is a part of.

Great result but ridiculous how some people get carried away. 5-1 at home against 9 man Stoke is not an amazing achievement and a draw would not have been a disaster.

Today isn’t really relevant to where we are as a team.

Delighted to be where we are in the table though. But hoping that most fans will still be happy if we finish 8th.

Think a few people are being a bit harsh about the ref being our MOTM as well. You make your own luck as well sometimes. Great through ball for Remy and a great run from him, causing all sorts of bother and they get a man sent off. So the ref didn’t create that situation – NUFC did.

    my team for arsenal:

    Krul
    Debuchy Braziliamson Colo M’Biwa
    Cabaye Tiote Sissoko
    Ben Arfa Remy Gouffran

I don’t think we should drop benny as he would really provide us the attacking threat to score against arsenal. As pardew normally does against top teams, we really need to attack arsenal and get in their faces. Don’t really want benny’s confidence to be lowered if he’s dropped against arsenal.

But why not be optimistic, what ever team pardew puts out i’m going for 2-0 newcastle!!

Brilliant win today but we need to replace Shola in January. He offers far too little. If we had say Gomis for example he could hold the ball up just as well as Ameobi but be a goal threat also, something Strolla is not. We can’t keep on carrying him through matches.

If Remy gets injured we’re fcuked so we need a striker in the January window asap.

Glad to see Cisse score but he needs to up his game a bit more to be the player he was when he signed. First stay onside and then the goals will follow.

    TDsarf,
I for one am not getting carried away but will be disappointed if we don’t finish top six as I think an Ameobi upgrade will achieve that.
If Lpool win this I think they’ll win the league.

Second best until the first sending off.
Adams was running the show until then.
Then WHAM BAMB great result and for the goal difference.
Instead of Hughes lambasting the Ref. He should throw the book at the first guy – stupid!
Question: Why did they let Remy take the penalty.
My MOM – BEN ARFA for when were poor he looked like the only one trying.
Should of had two more penalties late on.
Got to play better than we did first half against Arsenal as we will get stuffed

I have to mention that Willo is doing us proud with his solid defending. He is really consistent and it will take a terrible performance from him to be dropped. Saylor you’d better get comfy on the bench.

PS… Man City have just equalised! Yes! 😀

You’re right. We really need a player like Shola but we also need that player to offer a goal threat.

I like Shola as he offers something different to our other forwards, but
I’ve said since the summer that we need someone better to push on.

Top 6 means finishing above at least 2 of Spurs, Everton and Man Utd. I really can’t see us finishing above the other 4 and to be honest I think they all have better squads overall.

It would be fantastic if we do but I really think we should see 8th as a good finish. Would be great if we could give it a go though!

About time we gave someone a good stuffing under Pardew (although they had 9 men for 50 minutes) .

Ben Arfa was great today and showed why he is too good for the bench . Stoke couldn’t handle him and he was being doubled up on even when they had 9 men . He also won a penalty as well . Was still greedy at times but everyone wanted to be on the score sheet today .

    Team for Arsenal :

    —————————–Krul—————————-

    –Debuchy——–Willo———Collo——–M’biwa–

    —Sissoko——–Cabaye——–Tiote———Gouff—

    ——————————-HBA————————–

    ——————————-Remy————————-

I would drop Santon for M’biwa to deal with Walcott and we have a real chance especially at home .

Stoke should have legitimately had two people sent off today. The first sending off was harsh and was undeserved, but the second was a last man – clean on goal situation in the box. Instant red. Shawcross should have been sent off.

If you find it possible to defend Santon after his abysmal performance today then that’s your prerogative. The man is not a defender.
