This Unlikely Lad Is Our Man Of The Match At West Brom

Mike Williamson is our Man of the Match for yesterday’s game at the Hawthorns, when we suffered our second successive 1-0 defeat after Mathieu Debuchy had been sent off after 62 minutes for a two footed challenge, and West Brom won the game with a late penalty – their first win in 11 games – when they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 on November 2nd. 🙁

Mike Williamson – having his best season ever at Newcastle

Mike had another steady and stalwart game at the back for Newcastle, and with Coloccini now out injured for maybe over a month, Mike will continue to be an important player for Newcastle.

He has 43% of the vote and he’s followed by Cheick Tiote in second place with  14%, and Cheick will likely take over the Newcastle captaincy in Colo’s absence.

And it’s interesting that Debuchy – who was sent off yesterday and will now miss the next three games – is still third in our poll with 7% of the vote.

Who Was Newcastle's Best Player At West Brom?

Our best player so far this season if you ask me, Its between him and Debuchy, but the suspensions have swung my opinion in Iron Mike’s favour.

For me there are a lot of players I would sell before considering off-loading Cisse. I would trade him if it get us someone better though.

We should get rid off all or few of Obertan, Marveux, Jonas, Shola, Colo and S.Taylor in this window and try to get players can make us challenge for the big money.

I’m not worried about letting so much experience go now since we are in such good position in table that we can a survive worst case scenario.

If we fail get into money we might have to sell World-cup inflated player for big money in the summer.

Mike has been an unbelievable asset this season and really showed his commitment in games of late?

The forward line however need replacing ASAP and we can challenge for almost everything put in front of wor!

Hope we have a successful transfer window both in’s & out’s.

Our defensive players should be seeing more effect from our offensive play with a better margin of goals.

Need us back challenging foe Europa & More 🙂

I’d say top ten is nailed on this season, really can’t see us bringing anyone in, people say we bought Cisse when we were fifth but he was a year late.

    Jail,

The best way for Ashley to give JK a shred of credibility would be to sanction a decent signing or two.

Not saying it will happen but I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

JFK won’t sanction transfers. His job is to arrange them, he’s just a facilitator.

Ashley will have set the budget and from what we’ve seen so far, will also have the final say.

Let’s hope JFK can arrange a few goo uns and Ashley doesn’t say no.

Repost from previous thread but it seems relevant to recent posts on this one:

It’d have been good if we could have announced signings instead of reading of speculation and rumour.

Kinnear’s been with the club since June and we’ve yet to see any evidence to justify him.

What is he for? What has he done that’s of any value? Where’re the signings he’s asked to be judged on?

Looking qt the pics you posted, it looks as though the Cabella story’s got legs after all. Kinnear’s clearly done his best to evade the French media!

I think it’s a big chance that Marveaux will go in the other direction if they are prepared to sell Cabella since his brother plays for Montpellier.

    Sazzer,
I think that’s the only way we’ll manage to offload Obertan and Marv in a swap and cash otherwise the two of them are nailed on to see their contracts out, I can imagine Marv is on decent wedge on account of him being a free.

Don’t think anyone is any doubt over who controls the purse strings

But i think there’s plenty of understandable doubt over exactly just what it is that JFK is currently doing to justify a wage!
In his words judge him by his signings, so far that’s one loan player

Granted the window is literally just open but i certainly fully expect to see 1-2 signings, MA may not want to or see the need to make those signings given league position but it’s JFK’s job as our man with the “football knowledge” to convince why it is so very very important we add these few players and shift out some dead wood if were to maintain our current form and in there words continue to challenge

I have major doubts the JFK is up to the job tbh

Yeah they aren’t easy to sell because of their wages. We could probably get teams to pay a transfer fee for them but not sure they would be prepared to drop their wages.

Marv might be willing to drop some more, to play with his brother.

Would def love to see that done as business! Get Marv and Obertan off the books and get in one quality player who actually makes the matchday squad

Someone earlier said about using Gosling as part of a deal for Ince, but why would Blackpool do that when they can get him for nout in the summer? In fact why did we even let him go out on loan why not just say £1 mil he’s yours instead of letting him run down his contract elsewhere?

To be fair on Kinnear not signing anybody and bring Remy on loan is not that bad if you compare it buying couple of shit players on high wages just to sign somebody to prove he is up to something.

He addressed those issue he saw when he came lack of goals and lack of fitness.

Pardew probably did his best to convince him to give certain players a chance and wait until Christmas.

We missed few good deals in summer but a lot of them was bullets dodged.

I agree. But notwithstanding JFK’s bizarre outbursts, I’ve got no reason to believe that he can’t do the job.

1 or 2 signings to keep things fresh, that would work for me too. And yes, we will judge JFK on his signings, just as he asked us.

True mate shame we couldn’t do the same Obertan and Marvuex!

    Sazzer
He didn’t do much to address the lack of natural width which was the number one problem he identified
Remy was a deal that let’s be honest can’t of been that hard to do, we’d already had a deal in place once before and there were absolutely tonnes of people claiming a loan deal was essentially done before season even ended when it was painfully clear which way QPR were going
Faye Downey was appointed before kinnear so i don’t think he can be credited with addressing the squad fitness either as that was identified the previous season and something Pardew had said he wanted addressed
I don’t think he’s justified his position in any way shape or form

We probably wasn’t sure what to do with Gosling in the summer so loaning him out to see how he developed, was probably the plan and then extend his contract if he became as success.

In terms of the Ince deal. I agree it doesn’t make sense anymore.

Anybody think we’ll bring anyone in? Remy seems to have faded a bit and really doesn’t show much interest in staying with us past next summer. He wants a Champs League club which we aren’t. We seem to be quite a streaky club in fact and we’re in a losing streak right now unless we play brilliantly against Man City. It feels good to be back on the blog. A hello to everyone. I think a decent striker is in order with Shola in his thirties, Remy not interested in staying and only Gouffy and Cabaye to pot goals now and then otherwise. Surely we can afford one new player?
