We will be without both Fabricio Coloccini and Mathieu Debuchy for the next few games, and Alan Pardew has reveled today that Newcastle have more injury woes with Yohan Cabaye out of the game, and Tim Krul doubtful for the FA Cup tie against Cardiff City tomorrow.
Yohan Cabaye – has picked up a knock and is out of tomorrow’s game
This is what the Newcastle manager said today:
“Cabaye picked up an injury on Wednesday at West Brom and I would have liked to sub him but I didn’t have any left.” “I am a little concerned about my goalkeeper who is doubtful.”
Maybe we just didn’t rotate the squad enough during those 4 games in 11 days and this will be the 5th game in 15 days tomorrow, and when players play too much, they tend to get injured as we found out last season, when we were decimated bu the Europa League games.
But it’s right to ensure Cabaye – a key player for Newcastle – fully recovers before he plays and after Saturday we only have three more league games in January, and the fourth round of the FA Cup if we can get past Cardiff tomorrow.
And the manager now has an opportunity to give some of the fringe players a game tomorrow, and they have had precious few chances so far this season, with Newcastle sustaining very few injuries so far this season.
We need a win tomorrow to get us back on track and it would be an absolute disaster if we were to lose, and wouldn’t be too much better if we can only draw the game against a side who are currently 4th bottom of the Premier League and have had only one win in their last 10 games.
We have to win this one.

Comment #4wolfshead – ref the “Avez-vous un cuppa” advert – it is a classic -I’ve posted it on here a few times -when I get the chance. Last used it when Percy,JFK and Carr flew to Nice for a meeting with Mr Tubbs -and then Percy went to Monaco for the F1 race. Still makes me laugh.
As for getting old – the twilight years are approaching.

Comment #5Think its going to be very interesting this january! The kind of personality joe kinnear is makes me think he ‘ll be desperate to prove hes doing something! No signings mean no credit for him and I think he’ll want to hone in on that!
Ince would be a no brainer for me! Looks like we ‘re letting them have Gosling on a free too, might be something in that!
Personally I like callum mcmanaman! Hated his horror challenge on haidara but weve had decent success with scousers in the past!
Asides from those 2, the 2 strikers at Burnley are looking very decent (ings and vokes)
Cabella is a fantasy player ! Fantastic if we get him though Nicollin has been openly critical of MYM degressing since he got to Newcastle and would make any deal difficult! Talk in france is he scuppered newcastles move for younes belhanda!
From France, lyons lacazette is a very decent player though lyon don’t do bargains! lorients Aboubakar is having a phenomenal season and has atrributes to be a success! Ive also always liked monacos Riviere , hes not on mega money either like his teammates! Though hes more of a Remy replacement, similar players!
The dark horse for me is a player at Nantes! Filip Djordevic! Out of contract in the summer and scoring goals in not a top team!
Due to this new tax law in france, expect to see ligue 1 players outside of PSG and monaco to flood the premier league in jan and the summer! Think ashley will be looking to take further advantage

Comment #9Id rest cabaye anyway hes ran his socks off the last few games! Not too fussed about Coloccini either as i think MYM is a better player! Would hope to see Haidara get some game time! Elliott is decent enough to cover Krul in the cup! Wouldn’t suprise me if he was being given the cup games anyway!
My line up would be a 4-4-1-1 or 4-3-3 of Elliott, Santon, Willo, MYM, Haidara, Sissoko, Anita, Tiote, Sammy, HBA and Cisse!
Think its definately important to start Cisse and HBA to keep them involved and Remy and Gouffran have ran them selves into the ground recently and deserve a break!

i agree with u,but the problem is european clubs won’t let their players leave in the middle of the season,it needs a lot of effort,it’ll be fantastic if we get cabella, isn’t he a striker by the way,or gomis,or zaha or muriel or..
one thing is certain ,a striker is a must no matter what

Be surprised if Ince went to Swansea as he turned down Cardiff in the summer stated he wanted to stay in the north !!
Hopefully bud there is something in the deal with gosling. I know he is on a free come end of the season but doesn’t necessarily mean that he will stay with blackpool.

Comment #15About Demba Ba. I would buy him back for the same money we received (not what Chelsea paid) as long as his agents get £ 0!
…I cannot stress how important the latter is 🙂

My opinion is we won’t get him for 6mil.
He’s already got enough being raved about him that I’d say he’d be at least 12mil plus.
I’d like to sign him though!

Comment #19@himanshu Ocampos is a hell of a prospect! They paid a bit for him though and hes a better player now and hes on a fair wedge of a contract! Think when he moves from monaco it ‘ll be to a valencia or athletico for biggish money!
Corrasco is decent prospect but Depends on who monaco bring in though, hes doing well there theres always a chance they ‘ll replace him with a big name! Personally prefer left footers left side whereas he is right footed and cuts in alot! Hes also quoted as wanting to play in spain at some point

Comment #20Can’t see us paying 6-12m for Morrison to be honest! He game up to Benton for talks a couple years ago and didn’t impress anyone with his attitude and we pulled out the deal! That was when the price was below 1m!

Comment #22Id take zaha for 8m though! Even 10m! That lad demolished the championship last year! Almost single handedly got palace up and teams double and triple marking him was the reason average strikers like murray had the space to score so many goals!
Id go as far as saying he was the best player that season to ever play in the championship!
Think the move to Man Utd was ill advised! Too big a move too early! Guessing his advisers expected him to be under ferguson but Moyes is poor at developing young players ! Never seems to trust them! Seem that with Ross Barkley this year, seen that lad play a year ago and he was ready for the premier league back then but moyes wouldn’t play him

Comment #24Kinnear wanting to prove us wrong with signings???? lol
this old piece of dog sh1t cant even hold a civil conversation and yet he has been assigned to sign players for our club. utter madness
its not a question of ambition or nous with kinnear rather rather it is his ability which we all know is lacking.
the most he deserves is to be in a retirement home somewhere waiting for weekly visits from his ugly wife, football dinosaur

Hmm don’t know, reckon once would jump at the chance of Swansea, not had as much interest from the PL as thought and the only confirmed interest he’s had is Swansea and Palace, he’s desperate to play in the prem so no point going to palace
Also how much do you really think Gosling would knock off of a fee seeing as he’s free at the end of the season 500k?
HD
Why would we go for Morrison? He started the season well but has been very poor since November and can’t see he offers anything we don’t have already, he’s basically and English Adel Taarabt!

Comment #26I think Zaha would bring something different to Newcastle, we dont really have the pacey winger who has a go at defenders, our defenders do more of that. its frustrating when we have players like debuchy and santon working both wings with no winger, can you imagine debuchy and Zaha on the right, it would be entertaining I give you that.

Comment #28Hmmm,are Cabaye and Krul really injured or being set up to leave in the January transfer window! Between them, there must be around 40+ million of sales income for Ashley….
