There’s some concern in the Newcastle camp about Yohan Cabaye, and the injury he picked up on Wednesday is an Achilles injury, and as well as missing the game today in the FA Cup 3rd round tie against Cardiff City, it looks like he could also miss the next league game at home to Manchester City a week tomorrow.
Yohan Cabaye could miss next game too
Alan Pardew has admitted the injury to one of Newcastle’s best players is a concern, and this is what he had to say about the Frenchman’s injury:
“It’s his Achilles.” “It’s an injury in an area where you can’t afford to mess around.” “I have to really see how he’s going to improve before Man City, really, as that’s a delicate area.”
Achilles injuries can often be long term affairs, and as Alan says you have to be very careful with them, and with Mathieu Debuchy also out for the next three games, arguably our best two players this season are out of action at the moment.
And with Colo out today and goalkeeper Tim Krul also possibly missing the game, we’ve finally been hit with a string of injuries.
But it does show just how few injuries we’ve had so far this season, and there are only three league games left in January and only four in February, so the players will not miss too many games – hopefully.
And with Colo usually being a quick healer , we are hoping he’s back in four weeks, but it still looks unlikely that he will make the Sunderland game in early February – and that’s a game we just have to win.
And we’re sick of being beaten by what last year was one of the worst sides in the Premier League – fact!
Hopefully Yohan Cabaye will also make a quicker than expected recovery – and we can quickly get back to our winning ways.
