Alan Pardew has had to defend his fourth embarrassing exit from the FA Cup, since becoming the Newcastle manager in December of 2010.
Alan Pardew – 3 defeats in a row – all in six days 🙁
The first time was a 3-1 defeat at Stevenage almost exactly three yeas ago, and the next season we actually won a game 2-1 against Blackburn in the 3rd round, but that’s the only FA Cup victory Alan has had in five attempts as Newcastle manager.
But then in the next round in 2012, we went out ignominiously at Brighton by 1-0, and then last year we were defeated by Brighton again, but this time in the 3rd round.
Given our once glorious exploits in the FA Cup in the 1950s, these defeats are hard to take – very hard to take – make that extremely very hard to take.
This time we lost at home to Cardiff City, who had won just one game in their last 10, and were 4th bottom of the league and a full 15 points behind Newcastle after 20 games played and had just fired their manager.
And we even got the important first goal today, but we still managed to lose.
The FA Cup is important to Newcastle United, and so are the derby games with Sunderland.
And we wont even mention that Sunderland, who are bottom of the league right now and finished 4th bottom last season, beat us in succession last year for the first time in 46 years.
And we have to play Sunderland in early February. 🙁
Those records in the FA Cup and against Sunderland are things that Alan Pardew needs to improve big time.
Maybe the plans the powers that be put together at Newcastle should contain a line item as follows:
“Try to win a trophy to end the embarrassing 45 year drought at this club.”
It will not happen this year – that’s for sure.
And to make up for these three defeats in six days – maybe we can hammer Manchester City a week tomorrow a St. James’ Park?
Maybe – maybe not.

Marv is a bit player who almost certainly would not earn a starting place in any top ten Premiership side.

You obviously haven’t read any books on the French foreign legion to describe our players as legionnaires.
Their motto is:
‘Honour and fidelity ‘

The words ”we contained them for the half” made me feel sick to my stomach
SAF’s autobiography tagline ” I never played for a draw”
Solksjaer was a great shout but with our clowns he was never going to come here. He’s a winner after all.
The most hilarious line of all was pardew saying he (pardew) was a winner !!!!!!!!!

When Houghton was replaced the word from the club was that is was due to Chis being a yes man and not having his own ideas.
Whilst I appreciate your enthusiasm it really doesn’t help when bloggers start rumors like this to suit their own agenda.

So Hughton got sacked for being a yes man? So Pardew got a 8 year contract for forming his own opinions 100% of the time?
Yeah, makes sense.

So now you’re attacking the integrity of our French players now? I’m not sure what your point is other than to find something else to moan about.

Oh really
nearly relegating 3 different clubs
record losing streaks at 2 different clubs
record number of goals conceded in a season
worst domestic cup record of any NUFC manager
Only 1 top 6th finish in nearly 20 years.
it’s ok though cos it’s always someone else’s fault.

At the last reckoning we were 20th richest in the world never mind Europe, does that not suggest we should be aiming a bit higher than what we’re led to believe we should be.

Comment #58Do people not realise that without Ashley, Pardew would not even be a consideration because he, and the rest of the cockney mafia and PR ‘gurus’, liars, and crooks, would be high-tailing it out of our great club?

Comment #60Will all the so called supporters on this blog who keep moaning about the last three results get a life. I mean every team lose, correct me if I am wrong but didn’t we beat Cardiff not so long ago.
Look at Liverpool they lost Norwich at home and where are Liverpool now. You think because we lost our last 3 games we have got a rubbish squad.

I was thinking if Pardew started to wear black leather gloves. tucked his black jumper into his trousers and pulled the trousers up to his armpits, we might just get past the 3rd round next year. Would you agree ?

Comment #64Ole has been a winner all his life as a player and manager.
he has a creditable CV, pardew does not. Only took him 24 hours with the players to suss Pardew. must have taken lessons form Poyet and others.

I think if he grew the sides of his hair really long and fluffed it out a bit, shaved
the middle bit and bought some NHS glasses a couple of test tubes and a white overcoat, he might be able to master the science of the FA cup.

Comment #79If Cabella and other attacking players read this blog to read up on the club;
Do not join us. Wait until Pardew is sacked.
Under Pardew your job will only be to help out in defence and perhaps give it a go IF the counter looks promising. Really promising, but only then!
Pardew is an average muppet hired by a selfish clown.
