Newcastle In Talks For English Winger

There hasn’t been too much news on Tom Ince in this transfer window, and Newcastle have been linked with this player since the summer, and his contract at Blackpool runs out in June, when he will become a free agent.

Tom Ince – may not move in January
And it seems that at least two other clubs, Tottenham and Swansea are also interested in the 21 year-old England U21 International.

But there is also interest from abroad and Italian club Udinese are keen to take the youngster, but they want him when (if?) he becomes a free agent in the summer.

It seems that Newcastle would be willing to pay £4M for him now, and that to us seems a really good fee for Blackpool to get – given the lad only has six months of his contract to run at the Seasiders.

Bu we suppose ultimately it’s up to Tom what he wants to do, and there’s a chance he could wait until the summer, where the chances are high that he would be able to get a much better deal for himself.

And it seems that when he becomes a free agent foreign clubs would be better positioned than English clubs, because FIFA have rules that mean that Ince can join a foreign club for a cut-price fee of around £300K, if he becomes a free agent.

Blackpool are due some compensation from English clubs, even if they sell him as a free agent in the summer, and that would be a lot bigger than £300K.

However, it seems that Liverpool were wide awake when they sold their youngster to Blackpool in the summer of 20011, and they put a clause in the contract that means they would get a 50% sell-on fee when he is transferred.

That means that any profit they make on selling Ince would be halved, as 50% would be due to Liverpool.

We think Tom would be a good signing for Newcastle, if the club can pull it off, and Tom has made 107 appearances for Blackpool with a good 37 goals.

What do you think?

So the title said we are in talks, but the article just says we might be interested. Which is it?

It is clear that we are not creating enough chances going forward.
Wether that is Pardews fault or not I’m not sure.
Ince would be a great signing as would cabella. Those two plus a striker and I’d be happy.
still can’t see any signings coming though.
Come on mike prove me wrong!

i never like to complain about this site as it is free to use, my choice to come or not but the headlines are becoming more sensationalist, like tacky red top papers and the amount of ads that pop up and divert you elsewhere have prevented me being able to use it on my phone and i’m sure are a big reason the amount of comments have gone down compared to when i joined her 2 years ago

I think Ince & Cabella would be worth twice as much as they are now by the end of a season or two

British born players that will potentially be in squad next season:
    Rob Elliot
    Mike Williamson
    Steven Taylor
    James Tavernier
    Paul Dummett
    Sammy Ameobi

That means we will be requiring 2 more, the possibilities that get mentioned from the Championship are:
    Tom Ince
    Jordan Rhodes
    Danny Ings
    Alex Mcarthy

But they will all come at a price. Personally £4M and Marvauex or Obertan to Blackpool would probably be worth it. If only so Swansea don’t get him instead, but if you were Ince which manager would you rather play for?

Gael Bigirimana has played for England U20, does that mean he is classed as a domestic player?
If so it would mean we only require one more, this may be why Shane Long gets banded about.

Looking at it from his point of view Swansea would be the best option. Would get more games then at spurs, or us probably. Better football at Swansea than we play.

Oh gosh Ed, stop trying to fill the usual transfer window emptiness with even emptier rubbish!

There are NO talks, there is nothing to report.
    He’s going to Swansea anyway.

Mate I love your blog, but this article sucks.

He will probably end up in Spurs as they are quick to deals unlike us that are as fast as snails when it comes to signings. We just go from meeting to meeting and no incomjng players, so depressing :/
