PSG Interest In This Newcastle Player Seems Unlikely

12:41 pm, Friday, January 10th, 2014 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 18 Comments

The 30 year-old PSG French right back Christophe Jallet has been injured and only recently he has undergone surgery for his hernia injury.

Christophe Jallet

Christophe Jallet – undergone hernia surgery

And we’d hazard a guess that some journalist put two and two together, got five, and said that because of Christophe’s injury the Paris club are therefore now after Mathieu Debuchy, the Newcastle and French International starting right-back, and maybe even on a loan move.

The whole thing sounded a little bit unreal, and there’s no way Newcastle would allow Debuchy to leave the club, except for a huge transfer fee, which is probably true for any good player currently at the club.

So it’s hardly surprising that PSG manager Laurent Blanc has tried to distance himself from the news

“It’s a little too early to be speaking of a replacement,” “Honestly, it’s not that I do not want to answer, but Christophe had surgery yesterday morning. We wish him a speedy recovery.”

“He will be analysed by the medical staff, and they will tell us what needs to be done.”

It’s probably true that Blanc is still interested in signing Debuchy’s best friend - Yohan Cabaye – but it seems the former French National manager is not interested in trying to sign the play-maker in January.

Both Debuchy and Cabaye have been two of Newcastle’s best players this season, and we want to see them both at the club come September, never mind February.

I have worked it out scientifically

there are 48.6 places in our league per one position in the prem. so 119th puts you approx 2/3 Man C / Chelsea

410th Catchy puts you 8/9 Newcastle / Southampton

624 for me is 12/13 Stoke / Swansea

(my guesses were pretty good weren’t they!?)

    Ourtoon is 5/6 Spurs / man u

Martoon is West Brom / Norwich

i was slightly out with those last 2

If i were PSG id be straight in for debuchy! Hes really impressed me this season and i never rated him at lille!
I think PSG can buy better than Cabaye as players will go for the money alone and I think cabaye would be better suited to staying in england anyway, man utd are crying out for a player like him!

No one seems interested in Cabaye apart from the southern press.
