We suppose as long as Yohan Cabaye is at Newcastle and he is playing so well, there will always be speculation that other clubs are interested in him, and during the transfer windows there will be concerns that other clubs may come in and bid for him, which happened last August when Arsenal came in for him and offered around £11M.
Yohan Cabaye – not going to PSG in January
Yohan has talked about this and this is what he has said to BBC Radio Newcastle.
“For me to go to Paris or another club, there is nothing. I just want to be focused on the next game, Man City,” “Nothing is happening for me. When you know what you want, it is easier.”
“I think it’s hard for every player. It depends what the player wants — if he wants to leave or if he wants to stay.”
“There is every time speculation about the transfer, even in January, so it’s hard for the player, the club and the fans, for everybody.”
“It is not a good period for everybody. We just have to stay away from that speculation and stay focused on our job, and my job especially.”
The news that Alan Pardew gave in his news conference yesterday was positive about Yohan, and the midfielder is fit for tomorrow’s game against a very strong Manchester City side.
It’s good that Yohan has come out and made these comments, but all it really says is that he’s not moving anywhere in January – but why would he ever want to do that and join a new club, with the World Cup coming up in June, and Cabaye anxious to be in the French squad?
