Just before half time and after a wonderful goal from Cheick Tiote had been chalked off by referee Mike Jones, and only he know why he didn’t allow the goal – Alan Pardew had a heated argument with City manager Manuel Pellegrini, and Alan could be in trouble with the FA because of the language he used.
Alan Pardew – could be in trouble with FA
Here is the video of the goal and you decide if Yoan Gouffran is interfering with the play, even though he is in an offside position.
The Newcastle manager was seen (if not heard) on camera shouting ‘f****** old c***’ at the Chilean manager, after the Tiote goal was chalked off.
But after the game the Newcastle manager did the right thing and he apologized for his outburst:
“I apologize for that – he had words with me first.” ‘It was normal words for managers to have which go unseen most of the time.” “We’re fine, I shook his hand at the end and I’ll see him before he goes.”
The FA can look at the video and take some action against Pardew – but before they do – they need to watch Tiote’s perfectly good goal being disallowed by referee Mike Jones – and give Alan some slack.
The very last thing we want is a touch-line ban for the Newcastle manager, with the next three games against teams in the bottom six in the league table, and hopefully we can get back on the winning track after losing four games on the trot.

Comment #48That reminds me of when I did a bit of refing. If you booked someone for foul and abusive language you had to put it in the the report verbatim.
Like, Wilson, Thistles number 9 came in late from behind in 39 th minute and responded to the subsequent free kick with. “F@ck of ref, you are right f@cken rotter you cun@! you know sh@t, ya f@cken twat…………, you’ve got ya head so far up ya f@cken arse ya can’t see ya self, ya f@cken……….”
And if you sent someone off, and they appealed, you’d have to stand up in front of a panel and their lot and read it out loud, as said, the whole blue streak, and sometimes they’d be like, ” yeah I said all that, but he is is a right plonker, it was never a ………”and on it would go, in a similar vein.

Comment #59Worst display of reffing for an awful long time, he almost lost his grip entirely first half. Shame he decided to let Citeh’s rough approach go so long and he wouldnt have had to flash the yellow so much.
Iffy early moments from Santon, Mbiwa and Saylor but they all pulled it together in a match we should at least have had a point out of. I like the way the commentary said that Man C. were on top for the first half then the 50% possession stats came up on the screen! I hope that snake Nasri is injured sufficiently to miss the world cup, a big favour to his French team mates considering what he did in the last one.
Good all round never say die performance today but no good breaks for us, even a rebound on Kruls save to make things really hard to take.

Somebody has to take on the role of blog pig-headed clot, once Ruddy relinquished the title. It’s funny, because both think that employing an uppity manner and presenting their opinions as the paragon of rationale, emphasis on ‘presenting’, somehow makes their point more valid.

Comment #65I thought Anita had a good game today. Cisse is a passenger. We need more fire power. Although we were on top for most of the game we could not score.

Comment #71can’t believe people are having a go at some of the players and pardew. Thought it was an immense performance and we were desperately unlucky not top get a point. We showed some great football passing and touches at time, it wasn’t just a fighting display.
As for the referee – well, I don’t want a touchline ban from Ed! Nobody touched the ball, nobody unsighted Hart (the whinge!) and our players were running away from goal when Tiote hit the screamer – (i was sitting right behind it – what a shot!) Ridiculous decision!
PS Loved the chant at Joe Hart in the second half (tune “Go West”) – ” You’re s**t, and you’ve got dandruff!

Comment #75I was at the game today and we definitely deserved a point, I think STaylor had a good game and even could have scored a couple.
Remy looks like a man who knows he’s going to jail for a long time and Cisse is just shot, bring Anita off for him was just subbing for the sake of subbing and just highlights how few options we have upfront.
I read Medie Joe’s programme notes and I actually think he wrote these ones, now that the squad has strdngth in depth ? we only need one or two players a calendar year(not window) and that any players we’re linked with not in their early to mid twenties is just poor journalism, he also said there’s a chance we won’t buy anybody.

Comment #77We played well today and should have had at least a point.
BUT we have to learn and improve. To wit: we were winning the midfield battle with Tiote, Anita and Cabs. What we were not doing was get behind the city defense. We had to score and it was obvious long before the subs came on that Hairada should be given a run at Zabeleta and that HBA at Kolorov, with H replacing either Santon or Mbiwa and HBA Gouff/Sissoko.
But what does Pardew do? Takes off Anita and immediately concedes the midfield battle. Quite predictably Cisse hardly touched the ball. He then delays the other moves until 81mins! In the little time available both H and HBA looked effective but it was much too late.
I can only conclude that AP is incapable of learning how to read the game. I cannot recall any occasion upon which he has made an unforced substitution effectively or in a timely manner.

Comment #78The difference between NUFC and Liverpool can be summed up in one player.
SUAREZ.
They double his wages to 200K a week to keep him and build a team around him.
I wonder what our fat bandit would do with him if we had him. Double his wages or sell him? Difficult one that. Liverpool are trying to win things – even the league- but we are trying to win nowt and will succeed. Thanks Ashers for taking out hope away.
