    @TDS

    Fair point but also what I was getting at, you just can’t afford to give away possession to a counter like that. Along with Dzeko.

    But of course City’s backline was superb and the pressed well at times. I’m proud that we didn’t lie down vs one of the best teams in Europe but I’m also immensely annoyed that we once again didn’t capitalize on our chances to actually get a result, ref considered.

    @Cyprus? 2 reds? maby cabaye but please do not tell me that you think mbiwa should have been sent off. Because that was a yellow every day of the week when it happend I was screaming at my tv get up you wimp and stop trying to get him send off…And besides that’s the least the ref could have done for us…You remember de jong broke ben arfas leg and the ref then didn’t even stop the game for him never mind give a fk or red card.

    Don’t be daft. Some days we get the decisions, others we don’t. No need to suggest that the ref was being paid off!

    Ref doesn’t usually call the offsides and Saylor shanked his shot anyway. The Tiote decision was woeful that’s for sure but nothing to do with being bribed…

  • 4 Ted Bundy // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:42 PM

    Why can’t Pardew get the team fired up? Why does it always take a flagrant wrongdoing from the officials and the crowd, to get them fired up.

    Ashley out, Pardew out, JFK to be hung.

  • 5 Ted Bundy // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:43 PM

    ToonDarnSarf is a happy clapping loser. Exactly the type of fans this club doesn’t need.

    toonking

    you are an absolute idiot. guys like myself saying we only won at stoke because of the red card?

    I didn’t even watch the match. I was in Rome and the pub i went to weren’t showing the match after I’d called and had been told they were. I watched swansea v chelsea and followed via live updates

    absolute tripe you’re spouting

  • 7 89Norcal // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:44 PM

    @Ted

    There’s few things in the game that can incense a crowd like a terrible refereeing decision.

    Our scouts were present at Bordeaux vs Tolouse.

    TDS

    I’m still convinced you work for the club. The frequency of your posts and vehement, unwavering defence of all things status quo is astounding. Even bills-son can dish out criticism when he sees fit. nothing is ever wrong or sub-par to you

  • 10 kevymartins // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:45 PM

    @Tds some days decisions go our way some days they don’t well don’t you think it’s quite odd that every single time we play city at st.James they get them?

  • 11 lesh // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:46 PM

    Talk Sport interviewed Mark Halsey, a 4th official and in his view, Tiote’s goal should have stood, according to game’s laws. He also reckoned we played so well, we should’ve got something crpk the game;

    And just to put salt in the wound, the bindippers’ve gone 2-0 up over Stoke!

  • 12 cyprus // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:46 PM

    Didn’t say they were reds, they could’ ve been given. That’s different. The ref was carrying a guilt trip after that cancelled goal. Maybe I’m wrong, but if we had been in a dodgy pen position we would’ve got it.

  • 13 NUFCarter // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:47 PM

    West Ham is a must win game! Lets go all out for it. They’re lacking in defense and attack. Its a great chance to get our first in of 2014

  • 14 theartfuldodger // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:47 PM

    Dissapointed by the result.
    We need a stronger striker. Someone who can play with his back to goal.

  • 15 ToonDarnSarf // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:47 PM

    Harley

    Finishing is a pretty big part of the game. I think we played really well and showed more passion and put in more energy that City but their class really showed at times.

    You could say that we edged it but with black and white tinted glasses it’s easy to see why our fans would say we dominated! :-)

    Definitely robbed for the Tiote goal!

    manxpie // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:44 PM

    norcal our final balls this season are shocking and sissoko anita n cabeye really need to work on that
    but the fact we scored a cracking goal (feel so sorry for tiote!)
    plus we hammered arsenal in the last 10 means we need more attacking options
    which i keep on saying for the people who say “this is the best squad ever!”
    pardew hasn’t got much options for attackers to change a game!
    so both de jong brothers would do us nicely!!?

  • 17 mag // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:49 PM

    Saylor Benny Anita and Santon absolute crap on the other hand Mr T was awesome. No service to the strikers as per usual. Sack Pardew and get a manager in!

  • 18 ToonDarnSarf // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:50 PM

    89Norcal

    If we’d have equalised, then City just have so much class and experience, they could still have come back and scored again. They’re immense.

    No need to be annoyed. We beat Spurs, Chelsea and Utd when they should be odds on favourites to beat us. Should be proud of the performance.

  • 19 Sazzer // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:51 PM

    Nothing wrong with putting Cisse on but we shouldn’t have changed our formation. Overall great performance, we conceded the first goal because we gave their fullbacks too much space in the beginning trying to keep it tight in the middle. We got it right after that and were the better team because of it.

    S.Taylor had decent game especially offensively. More dangerous than Colo in that regard for sure.

  • 20 kevymartins // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:51 PM

    @Cyprus dodgey my arse no guilt trip….You see him giving saylor offside when he was on? Different story if that 1 hada went in there would have been a riot. He maby let us off with 1 or 2 bookings but there is no way he would have gave a pen or anything as he proved with saylor offside an was on. Also anyone see Williamson getting bumped in the box first half? could have been a pen. He just looked like he didn’t want us to score.

  • 21 mattyNUFC // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:52 PM

    anyone else find it curious why tiote didn’t even acknowledge pardew after he scored. ran straight by him and onto JC

  • 22 ToonDarnSarf // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:52 PM

    mattyNUFC

    You’re convinced I work for the club? Yet you probably also think the club doesn’t care about the fans? Yet you think they have appointed me to post on a blog…yeah..that seems likely…

    Unless you’ve read every single one of my posts, I don’t think you’re qualified to comment on my views.

  • 23 NUFCarter // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:52 PM

    Mag
    Anita was not crap. He was my motm after Tiote. Many times during the match he would pick up the ball in midfield and play a ball to the attack. He was very good at that today

  • 24 kevymartins // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:53 PM

    Also @cyprus to show how cold hearted the bas***d was he gave Tiote a yellow after for a nothing challenge.

  • 25 89Norcal // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:53 PM

    @manx

    Yes perhaps a target man but IMO we need a really solid out and out winger. Bless Gouffran but he isn’t quite it, and moving Remy there means we are somewhat stunted in terms of strikers.

    But maybe a striker is priority with Remy almost surely jumping ship come summer.

    Dont think you guys can slag TDS too much. There’s certainly some positives today even if we still lost.

  • 26 Ted Bundy // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:53 PM

    We only played well after the disallowed goal because our team went banzai and did away with any negative thoughts imbued by the slithering one, about containing them and ‘respecting’ them. Get rid of the small fry manager, chunky chip Ashley and mashed brain JFK, oh and plastics like TDS.

  • 27 ToonDarnSarf // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:53 PM

    kevymartins

    I think you’re looking at things with black and white tinted glasses mate…and I bet there are fans of other clubs who would say the same thing about Newcastle. Surely you’re just having banter, not seriously suggesting that the ref has been bribed???

  • 28 mag // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:54 PM

    @23 Is that why he subbed him?

  • 29 89Norcal // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:54 PM

    mind you alot of people predicted a 3-4 goal loss today.

    @TDS
    Yes but I would have betted on us getting a result today after seeing our effort and the crowd.

  • 30 Graeme // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:54 PM

    and Stoke pull it back to 2-2

  • 31 cyprus // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:55 PM

    Stoke back from 2-0, justifiably!

  • 32 NUFCarter // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:55 PM

    2-2 what a goal!!!! Charlie Adam

  • 33 Ted Bundy // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:55 PM

    Rapist Remy is going all shy isn’t he? His ball control is that of a worried man whose mind is elsewhere. As bad as Cisse.

  • 34 clinath@ed // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:56 PM

    Bloggers.on here are obsessed with individual performances and completely MISS how well the the team performs.
    We have just bossed and bullied one of the best teams in Europe, and some still find something to bitch about.

  • 35 mag // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:57 PM

    @34 and lost 2-0

  • 36 kevymartins // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:58 PM

    @Tds obviously i’m not serious about the ref being bribed although it could be possible the way the game went….Maby Sissoko should have actually punched him in the face this time instead of his hand slipping after helping someone up.

  • 37 manxpie // Jan 12, 2014 at 4:59 PM

    adam and crouch should be celebrating like fusk
    that club shitted on them as not not good enough!
    i’d rub there noses init

  • 38 Harley // Jan 12, 2014 at 5:00 PM

    Tds

    Agree they had the clynical edge on us and yes, unfortunately that’s what wins games.

    We need to take that performance level down to west ham and we’ll win for sure.

    I still believe its all to play for.

    A narrow defeat to the league leaders, a narrow defeat to the probable champions, a narrow away defeat when down to 10 men and an an awful defeat in the cup.

    Lets hope it’s just a blip and we can put a nice run together now.

  • 39 theartfuldodger // Jan 12, 2014 at 5:00 PM

    We build up too slow. Thers no pace in the team(not even on wings). A slow build up accompanied by a non physical striker. Thats what we get.
    Add to that a lack of flair players.

  • 40 jimiley // Jan 12, 2014 at 5:00 PM

    JFK has stated in today’s programme that we will only buy one player per season because we have a strong squad. How do you run a club like that? It is pathetic. And how much is he being paid to sign one player a season?Probably on loan!!!!!. A strong squad which includes the Ambler, the ambler’s brother, Cisse and Gosling!!!!! The club is dead from the neck up. A club with no purpose and no soul.

    JFK and Pardew are being paid to do the owner’s bidding. Not to compete in Cups because we could end up in Europe and to stay well clear of 5th spot. The purpose of the club is survival in the league. We are not competing to win anything. If you are not trying to win something, what is the point of playing?
