Pardew Worried About Losing This Top Player

8:20 am, Sunday, January 19th, 2014 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 18 Comments

West Ham yesterday had nobody as good as Yohan Cabaye who scored his two goals through his fantastic skill and ball control, and he had a very good game as Newcastle got back to their winning ways by beating the Hammers 3-1 yesterday.

And it seems that Alan Pardew is still concerned that he could lose the French International this month – with just 12 days to go in the transfer window.

This is what Alan Pardew has said about the situation in the Daily Mail, when he was asked about Yohan possibly leaving this month:

“Like all Premier League clubs, everyone is for sale at some price,”  “We’re conscious that we have a good team and want to keep it together because we are not that far behind the guys that have been so dominant in the top seven this season.”

“I’m nervous in all transfer windows as manager of Newcastle and I’ll be nervous until it shuts. But we have a good financial position at the football club and I’m sure the owner will be pleased that we’ve got 36 points at this stage of the season.”

The two clubs said to still be interested in Cabaye are Arsenal and PSG, with the French club probably being the biggest threat to come in with an offer this month – that owner Mike Ashley cannot refuse.

And if the news is true that we are close to signing Remy Cabella from Montpellier for around £12M, Remy could be his replacement.

There was news yesterday that his father and agent Hector Cabella said a deal was close, and that his son would be joining Newcastle this month.

We really hope that news is true, and we also hope that Yohan stays, at least through the summer.

Cabaye showed yesterday just what a classy player he is for Newcastle.

What do you think?

    Who Shola?

We should terminate his contract anyways!

Cabella and Cabaye AREN’T like for like players! It’s not the natural choice of replacement for Cabaye.

Papiss Cisse’s proposed move to Qatari side Al-Rayyan has finally fallen through.

The Newcastle striker is understood to have been in two minds this week about whether to go.

But any deal is dead after the Qatar Stars League outfit failed to meet the Magpies’ £10million asking price.

Cisse, 28, was also linked with a swap deal involving Borussia Monchengladbach’s 23-year-old Holland striker Luuk de Jong.

But Cisse, a £9.5m signing from German side Freiburg two years ago, is not interested in a return to the Bundesliga. Instead, he faces a fight to revive his career on Tyneside
Just for the record mate !!

Thankyou! Been saying for weeks along with telling people he is NOT the same mould as HBA (lot of people saying that and no point in signing him as we have HBA) and he’s not a left winger!!!!

Just watched match of the day, why was everyone slating Shearer last night? He said we played well but then said what 99.9% of the fans said which is we’re not going to be relegated we’ve lost too much ground on Europe so it was infuriating to see us whimper out of the FA cup

Torq…we just need to send out Sammy, Bigi and who else we have sitting on the bench rotting!

Cabella may not be a cabaye type player but when he leaves Cabella will go in for him.

Can I say Anita’s inclusion is bringing the best out of Cabs?

I don’t care what the papers write mate. The pricetag is wrong.
    It was £8.2M.

Jazzyp…wasn’t Corchia a kid who was highly praised a long long time ago? Not sure if he is up to the hype?

    …maybe Torq knows:)

Let’s not go mad fella, Tav is a 22 year old on loan at a league one club and has never played above Championship level, the future he most certainly isn’t
League to the Prem is a huge difference and given how long players like Tav and Vuckic have been around the senior team they should be miles ahead of where they are
Abied and Campbell yeah have promise but that’s it out of loan lads, maybe Newton

Tads – he is nothing like HBA!? Where do people get these ideas from?

And as for last night’s quotes from the club, I’m not surprised! They don’t like us as a football club after we signed Yanga-Mbiwa for a bargain price last January.

People think the board and manager at THIS club are bad, try spending some time at montpellier, toulouse or the like. So unprofessional.

Are people still moaning about sissoko playing out wide? Because he has been nothing short of excellent out there this season. He, Yanga, tiote and Anita played very well yesterday. Dummett came off the bench to impress, HBA, cisse, shola. Finally some depth. Bring in 1-2 first XI players, keep our stars and it will be a good window.

How many disgraceful tackles can Wes Brown get away with? Him and Clattermole should be banned from the league!

I am obviously no football manager and just a die hard fan. But i cannot understand why our club keeps missing out on chances to sign players when we have momentum. Keegan era was full of momentum signings (hope this is making sense)
We have just beaten the hammers and are going into a short break (abu dhabi or similar)….. It would be perfect timing NOW to bring in one, two players (Cabella Luuk…) so that they can meet our team and train in a great environment ready for the next game.
If we improve and Cabaye sees potential who knows he may stay.
The other side of me thinks knowing the chairman he is doing a tottenham and is spending the Cabaye money already.
We genuinely could challenge for CL with a couple of signings and some rub of the green.
Ashley do not waste this chance !

Shola has made a career out hasn’t he?

  • 16 jazzyp // Jan 19, 2014 at 8:42 AM

Whatever mate,Im not getting into a stupid argument over what a player cost. I only put what is on every transfer figure cisse cost.If he only cost £8.2 so F@ckin what pal.I was only stating that £12 mill is a good figure to pay for cabella if we paid £9.5 for Cisse

  • 17 TorqToon // Jan 19, 2014 at 8:44 AM

    Jazzy – £12.3mil is a bargain mate!

  • 18 toonarmydownsouth // Jan 19, 2014 at 8:46 AM

Apparently every player who has a bit of flair is automatically written off as they must be a carbon copy of HBA there for no point in them coming as they will be “Pardewed”
This seems to ignore the fact that despite being immensely skilful with bags of pace Cabella also has a fantastic engine, comes deep, hassles the opposition midfield by pressuring them in the mould of Cabs/Tiote and had the ability to switch defence to attack in seconds!
A midfield trio of him Tiote and Cabaye would be fantastic!
HBA has only a fraction of these traits (not to mention HBA is a winger!)
