The press seem to be after big Sam Allardyce, as West Ham continue to struggle and slipped to 3rd bottom in the league table, after yesterday’s 3-1 home loss to Newcastle, and there are even suggestion that Alan Pardew could return to his former club.
Sam Allardyce at yesterday’s game
But why would Alan Pardew want to leave Newcastle, after he had the team in 5th place in the league in 2o12, the highest we have finished since the great Sir Bobby Robson was managing the club in 2004.
Alan was also the first Newcastle manager ever to win the Premier League Manager of the Season and the LMA Manager of the Season after we finished in 5th place two years ago.
And why would Alan want to leave a Newcastle side who could be pushing for a second top five finish in two years if we have a good run-in, to manage a club who are fighting relegation?
It just doesn’t make too much sense to us, and that’s not to criticize West Ham United, who are a great club and have terrific fans.
And even if the Hammers were to offer Pardew a fantastic compensation package, and a big bonus if he were to keep them in the PL this season, we’d be surprised if Alan would be interested,
It seems the speculation is being fueled by Alan being close friends with David Gold, West Ham’s co-owner with David Sullivan , and of course Alan managed the club between 2003 and 2006
Of course, all this is assuming that Sam Allardyce will be fired, but the Hammers best chance for survival is to keep the experienced former Newcastle manager at the helm, and have the Board support him.
That would be their best chance of surviving this season.
What do you think?

Comment #201Not sure if anyone has already posted this? But we’re certainly not the worst in the league for bringing through academy players. However the whole of the prem is well behind any of the other top 5 leagues.

Comment #202The subs were a bit strange in my eyes, Anita who was fantastic should never have been taken off, when the team is under the cosh what we need is ball retention and no one is better at this than Anita…..if the opposition don’t have the ball then they can’t score!!
On the subject of youngsters, I don’t think some of them have been given a fair go, perfect example is Bentelab of spurs who is playing again today, this 18 year old played well against Southampton and hasn’t been dropped for a bigger name as his manager is rewarding him for doing a good job!! Can you imagine Percy doing that? Abide seems to living up to his hype in Greece amazing what a run of games does

Thanks for that little snippet @199. And because they’ve benefitted from Sam’s prowess, they’re still paying the price! That’ll teach ’em.

Comment #204Pardew’s half time talks are poor?
Does your stream include a microphone in the changing room?

IMO it has been a wasted opportunity not to move Santon over to RB and establish himself there, he obviously has a good right foot, but limited to his right foot in both tackling and offense. He has become to predictable going forward as cutting in should be the surprise move from a LB, not the consistent route.
All three fullbacks used yesterday struggled at times and Sissoko was their main assistance. It has been good for Mbiwa and Saylor to get game time to remove jitters, but with Debuchy back who should retain a starting place?

Remy not passing to Anita was ludicrously greedy. I’m not sure you would drop a Striker for backing himself nor would you HBA. It’s still frustrating having players take shots when they have such simple passes to team mates who are open.
I like Santon don’t get me wrong but there are times where he does some very odd things defensively. I would like to see which ever CB is next to him screaming at him and really helping him out with his positioning.
I would like to give Dummet a run in the team. You might be right we might all be saying get Santon back in there but I would like to see Dumment given a few games is all. Then bringing Santon back could help him play better who knows.

Comment #207Catchy – big Sam sets teams up better than Pardew!
That is a classic. I admit Pardew has his failings and they need to be addresses if we want to progress further, but so did KK and SBR yet that statement is an embarrassment. Your nothing but a windup merchant who should stop writing your utter drivel.
As for the get said he posts genuine comments. Where? Show me one.
We can all have opinions and I will agree with some and not with others but some people just post stuff to get a reaction. I have not seen a thoughtful and insightful dialogue one here for a long time. Someone please help me.
And before people chirp off that I’m in the USA and don’t know what it means to be a fan. Save your voice. I still have a season ticket with my dad in the Gallowgate and I am in year 27 of having that.
