PSG Reported To Be Keen ON Newcastle’s Ben Arfa

There is a report in Mundo Deportivo today that PSG have taken note of French International Ben Arfa’s lack of playing time at Newcastle, and may be considering a bid for the 26 year-old Newcastle winger.

ben arfa fulham goal

Ben Arfa – PSG interested?

The Frenchmen was born in Clamart, which is a community in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, and in the past the 26 year-old has said he would like at some time to join his home town club.

The French report concentrates on Ben Arfa’s lack of playing time at Newcastle, and that it may be a good move by PSG to try to get the Frenchman back to France.

The report suggest a move could be made in January, but that has to be high;ly unlikely, but we think Newcastle may have a busy transfer window in the summer, with players both leaving and coming into the club.

Our view is that Ben Arfa is a match-winner, and we hope he is happy at Newcastle, and that given he’s not starting he will get chances as a substitute – because this lad has skills galore and can make the difference in a close game.

The report is stretching it a little bit on news that Hatem Ben Arfa wants to join PSG, and they quote the Frenchman saying he would one day like to join PSG, but that was after we were hammered 6-0 at home to Liverpool at the end of April.

But things have changed for Newcastle since that time, and we have beaten Manchester United away (for the first time since 1972 at Old Trafford), Tottenham away and Chelsea at home, and could be on track for another top six finish within two years.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

    repost from 3 mins ago….

posted this yesterday to no interest which might explain. my pal met kinnear at jesmond dene house last week. told me he was generally mouthing off as usual but one thing he did say was that him and pards both want rid of cisse and hba as none of the rest of the squad like them. Sounds weird but trust what he says. Also seems to fit with this story (and last one). feel free to ignore it though

That is interesting. If true, i wonder why they arw not liked? It explains both players poor form, but surely pro footballers should try to be civil even if they dont like their team mates.

Tiote said he was best friends with Cisse at one point. Mentioned that he always beat him in pool or something like that.

Whether a player is liked or disliked by team-mates is immaterial, Roy Keane was never liked at Man Utd, and Craig Bellamy was never liked here, or anywhere for that matter, but they were always wanted by their team-mates because they new how good they were, this is professional football and not a school yard !

if PSG offered 30 mil for Cabaye and Ben Arfa would you take it? I’m going on 25 mil for Cabaye and 5 for Ben Arfa…would like to think we could get a bit more than that for HBA mind

Somebody earlier mentioned the Remy saga. If he is charged by the cops/CPS when he responds to his bail next month it’s going to drag the process out for months. Typically if someone is charged with an indictable offence (triable only at the Crown Court) it will take 6 -9 months at least before the case is heard. This will probably therefore extend beyond the summer window -this will again have the effect that no-one will be daft enough to sign him and he could end up in jail.
If no further action is taken against him when he respond to his bail -then clubs will be certain of the future and therefore he could be transferred.

as you know that is a dangerous game as some will swear blind that what you say as a theory will be portrayed as fact as you see it and hence, you will be hung drawn and quartered, beware the lynch mob will be lurking lol

…..which is basically what i was getting at. However on he other hand, they are still human, and are therefore subject to emotions. Unpopularity has an effect. There can be no doubt.

Oh, just had a dream…if PSG offered 40 mil for HBA, Cabaye, Obertan and Marveaux…I’d personally give them Obertan and Marveaux for free as part of the deal actually, just to free up some wages as I’m sure Marveaux’s on a substantial contract is he not?

beddersmag @3 I trust your mate but not JFK. I can’t imagine even he would be so indiscreet as to reveal stuff like that knowing it will go straight on Twitter etc. He might be cleverer than we think and let slip false stories to throw people off the scent but then again he might just be a drunk with a big mouth 😉

I know why you would take it, its a bloody good offer, the problem I have though is that it is only a good offer if we can use the cash to replace them, if the cash goes into the back pocket as the Andy Carroll cash did then to me it is a lousy offer which we should not take as it is unarguable that we would be a weaker side without them.

not just PSG I here, SD are also reporting the PSG link with HBA, Apparently Montpellier president want him going the other way if we sign Cabella, all speculation but if we apparently want rid of one why not use him to OUR advantage. just saying

Speaking of Marveaux, did he not used to be in the France squad? Or close to it? Must be gutting for him seeing Cabaye and Remy doing so well, defo going to the World Cup, and he’s just rotting away and played very little football in the past couple of seasons. Would be amazing for him if a decent French club made an offer for him now, even on loan til end of season, Marseille, Monaco, Lyon, Lille, etc…perhaps it would give him an outside chance of making the World Cup? That’d shock everyone know doubt 🙂

    Hey guys!

Seems we are linked with more than a few players again with Ligue 1 again. Excluding Cabella we are interested in Zouma, Wagué, Djordjevic, Deaux. Now I dont know about Zouma as it seems it will not be possible when the likes of Chelsea are trying a get a deal in, but maybe we could offer him a guranteed bench place or the replacement for Coloccini?

These do look like possible recruits, as our scouts been out abroad, most importantly being Graham Carr, and its from a reliable source Julien Laurens reputable French journalist.

Looking to hear back from you lads!

    I don’t think I’m twisting stats

I think that Gus has cam in and got them organised and playing football
please remember that he came into a team bottom of the league , with no confidence, he has had to pick them up and get them believing ,

couple that with the fact his team is crap, not many of them are top half players let alone prem std

    tads

he is new to management , he took a lower league team and did wonders with them, beating us in the prem 2 times,

it’s not twisting stats , stating facts is what it is

A would get rid of Ben Arfa if someone bid 10mil like where far better team with out him.
A wish people would stop going on about Marveaux hes done nothing for us since he joined except pick up a good wage on the treatment table, cant think of 5 good games hes played for us.

I would take Djordjevic, not really seen any of the others, get Djordjevic in and Vukic will have someone to learn from as thats the type of player I would like him to turn into. gets it done for his country aswell. big lad aswell.

Massive fan of HBA, think he needs a run of games rather than being made a scapegoat when we concede a few goals or play badly, its always him getting the blame and its not always him making the errors. Not saying he’s world class but I do think he should be starting, we’ll regret letting him go. Saying that if we had a bid of anywhere above £15m I would accept it.

We need to give hatem a run of games to show he can perform for us consistently before we ship him out. We have nobody else in the squad who can turn games the way he can. Match winners don’t come cheap, we need to build around our best players not sell them.
