Newcastle Player Now Wanted By Top German Club

There is news coming out of Germany that Newcastle’s Tim Krul is on the short-list of Borussia Monchengladbach, when their current 21 year-old goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen  leaves the club in the summer to join Barcelona and replace the departing Victor Valdes.

Tim Krul – wanted by Borussia Monchengladbach

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has refused to sign a new contract at the German club, as he is being lined up by Spanish giants Barcelona, and this lad is a top up and coming goalkeeper in Germany.

He’s played for all the German youth sides from U16 through U21, and has three full caps for the full German National side, and is expected to challenge Germany number one goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for the goalkeeping position, and Manuel is probably the best goalkeeper in the world right now.

Borussia Monchengladbach Sporting Director Max Eberl has resigned himself to losing his top young goalkeeper in the summer, when his contract runs out:

“Marc has informed us that he won’t accept our offer and therefore will not extend his contract with us.” “It’s a great shame from our point of view and we must accept it.”  “We suspect that he will join the club about which there has been a lot of speculation.”

That club around which there has been speculation is Barcelona.

Tim Krul is always being linked with other top clubs these days, so it;s not too surprising that Borussia would be interested,  and AC Milan are also said to be keeping tabs on the 25 year-old Newcastle goalkeeper, since they will need a new number one in the summer also.

But we know the score at Newcastle – if a club comes in and meets Mike Ashley’s (high) valuation of any player at the club – they will be sold.

It’s really as simple as that, and maybe a £15M bid would be what would be required for Newcastle to sell Tim in the summer.

And maybe that’s why Newcastle are being linked with a number of goalkeepers over the last six months or so?

What do you think?

He won’t be off with the guaranteed games he gets under his belt at the Toon

As long as we can convince him we preparing ourselves to be competitors for CL & Cups he in right place.

UNLESS we get a huge 40mill offer come in then that’s a game of a different half

Bigger clubs than Borussia Monchengladbach have expressed an interest in Krul and he’s repeatedly said he’s happy here. Honestly think it would take a Bayern Munich, Barca, Chelsea, Real or Juve for him to consider leaving us.

Ok I’ve looked it up and here’s what it says.

3.b. If A Europa league winner is not qualified for UCL, Europa league winner auotmatically qualifies for Europa
3.c. If FA cup winner is not in top 7 of PL FA Cup winner will go through Europa League
3.d. If FA cup winner is qualified for UCL then FA Cup runner up qualifies for Europa League
3.e If League cup winner is not qualified for UCL then League Cup winner gets the place for Europa League.

Nothing in there about a league cup runner up.

tads — a gross suggestion. Glad I had my breakfast an hour ago. My initial thoughts (thinking about the original suspects)was how could a nice looking lass like her get seduced by yours truly. But the thought of Susan Boyle -my God a horrendous thought – even beer goggles could not afford a believable excuse.

Don’t think he’ll go to them. If he was available other clubs would come in
