This Newcastle Player Is Fantastic – Absolutely Fantastic

Two of Newcastle’s best players this season have been Yohan Cabaye and his best friend Mathieu Debuchy, who has become a much better player since arriving on Tyneside a year ago, and he has now served his three match ban for that red card against West Brom, and so will return to the side at Norwich City on Tuesday night.

Yohan Cabaye – fantastic player – absolutely fantastic

And once again Yohan Cabaye has been courted by some top clubs, and we are still waiting to see if PSG will come in with a massive bid for him before the end of the January transfer window.

There’s conflicting news on Cabaye, and one is that he is reluctant to move to PSG, where he will face enormous competition for his midfield place, and maybe would not be a regular at the now very rich French club.

But PSG manager Laurent Blanc again confirmed yesterday that Cabaye is wanted by PSG this month, and we could at least see a bid for him in the next six days.

Cabaye was simply brilliant at West Ham, and the two goals he scored showed the immense skill this player possesses, and Tim Krul the Newcastle goalkeeper, who returned with the squad from Abu Dhabi on Thursday, is a big big fan:

“Yohan is a fantastic player, absolutely fantastic,”  “He works so hard, even when we are not in a match, he will hit the training ground when we have finished to practice his free-kicks.”

“People might not see that about him. That’s what separates the top players, they want to be better every day.”  “He does not want to be chilling or relaxing every day. He wants to get better and better. He deserves every credit he gets.”

That’s something fans don’t see – the fact that Yohan works so hard on those free kicks in practice, and he’s a big big player for Newcastle.

Yohan takes the free kicks and corners, and now he’s starting to score goals regularly, with five goals in his last seven games for the Magpies – playing in the withdrawn striker position just behind Remy.

It would be something if we can get this lad to stay on Tyneside on a new long term deal, but we have our doubts.

But you never know.

What do you think?

    Re Cisse

No point hanging onto him hoping to get a higher price. If a player is unhappy or disruptive it’s best to get rid of him and go for someone to wants to be here.

Someone said in a previous article that they thought that the writing was on the wall when he embarrassed the club with his futile attempt to refuse to wear the shirt with the sponsors name on it even though other Muslims at the club had no problem with wearing the shirt. It wouldn’t surprise if there is an element of truth in this.

Personally I think we just need to let this go, there is a week left of the window and if Cabs goes there is nothing we can do about it.

…this is like the fourth article about Cabaye in a few days!

I have sympathy for Cabaye as he clearly wants to play at the very highest level but probably knows that at the very top clubs there is no guarantee of a regular first team spot whereas with us he is probably number one on the team sheet selection.

The other thing about Cabaye is that the formation that Pardew plays with Tiote and Anita behind him allows him to demonstrate his all-round skill and ability. In another team he might not have that and his performance may suffer accordingly.

I would say alot of Cabaye’s form is also down to the work rate of Tiote, him being back in form is probably the most marked improvement in my eyes from last year
