Reports Manchester United Considering Huge Cabaye Bid

Yohan Cabaye is a better central midfield player than Manchester United have at their club at the moment, so in that way if the Red Devils bid for the Newcastle star midfielder and were successful,  they would improve their current side – which seems surprisingly ordinary this season, and just one point better off than the Magpies.

Yohan Cabaye scores against ManU_3047906

Yohan Cabaye – Manchester United interested?

Of course the signing of Juan Mata from Chelsea for a massive £37M will help, and if they were to offer Mike Ashley something north of £25M for Cabaye, we think Newcastle would sell, although the fee may even need to be north of £25M.

Paris Saint-Germain have been interested in signing the Frenchman for over six months now, and manager Laurent Blanc often tells the French press he would like to have Cabaye in Paris, but maybe a better move for Yohan would be to move to the Red Devils, where he would have a regular starting position.

That’s not a given at PSG,  where the French club have a number of top central midfield players, and plan to sign more in the summer, and a starting position would not be guaranteed for the 26 times capped French International, with all those caps coming while he has been at Newcastle.

But Yohan will not leave Newcastle until a top bid comes in,  and if the bids are less than £20M, then owner Mike Ashley will keep Yohan at the club – at least until the summer – and that still has to be the probable outcome.

Yohan has played 93 times for Newcastle with 18 goals and 15 assists.

Pressure is on our board to buy some players. Sick of hearing about players leaving ie Cabaye, Krul, Taylor, Colo,Debz and Cisse. We are in no position to sell ATM. We are 3-4 player away from a top quality squad. I still remain optimistic for this window, I still believe we will bring in De Jong on loan with option to buy AND Cabella signing a pre contract to sign in the summer and I believe Cabaye will be here until after the World Cup. It just seems the board are doing all they can to lower fans expectations but that’s me being cynical lol. Fingers crossed.

He is the perfect replacement for Scholes, plus he can actually tackle.

I am praying Man Utd come in and get him, if that means we get Cabella this window, otherwise I can see him going in the summer, and we get nobody of note in this window or next.

I personally see us finishing above Man U. We still have to play them at SJP- in order to complete the double. A Europa finish this season and CL finish next. New contracts offered to existing top draw players and increased attraction for us to attract others as a prospective CL participant.

Man U need more than just Mata if they are to stand any chance of competing with the oil clubs. Man City can afford to have 7 players like that on the bench and another 10 in reserves just incase they get injuries. Every time I think they’re going to get beat or draw they bring on three world-class stars and win the game. How can anyone compete?

Does anyone know what happened to Platini trying to stop clubs spending beyond their means? Or did he just give up once a few French clubs got Russian and Qatari owners.

The next Mike Willo- Manchester City appear set to pass Uefa’s Financial Fair Play test – and avoid a Champions League ban – having increased revenues by £40m, according to figures in the Deloitte Football Money League report.

I also understand that the report also indicates that the European football world are still trying to discover if City’s results for 2012-13 – which the club are yet to disclose – reveal a big enough reduction in losses to see them comply with FFP.

The financial information published in the report creates the first real picture of how the club has fared. Not read fully but others have and apparently It reveals City’s revenues are up to £271m, which suggests there are expected losses of around the £60m mark, though some financial experts are confused by a key component of the claimed extra revenue. As Tsunki would say it’s all smoke and mirrors.

Who cares about the bloody fee! It could be a world record fee for all I care, it won’t go back into the squad!
Rather lose cabs in the summer for £15 million and see Cabella in than lose him in this window for £30 mil and hear “we tried but couldn’t get anyone over the line, it’s stunned to lose him this late in the window”

For me if Ashley flogs Cabs this window, there can be no doubt from anyone as to his ambitions for the club, selling cabs now would be the equivalent of him standing on the roof of SJP and p* ssing on them as they walk through the gates!

The Qataris are more corrupt than the Russians. No doubt they’ll just pay Blatter & Platini off.

I’d ban foreign ownership. That was another of Platini’s ideas. But now he is over the moon with Monaco & PSG

Football is going to get so predictable that fans will just start to watch rugby.

Mike Ashley is a wheeler dealer and knows all about money and I would imagine that he has weighed up how much money the club will get in for the position they end up in at the end of the season and how much the club will get for Cabaye.

If the amount of money he gets from the higher and achievable place in the table is greater than getting from the sale of Cabaye he may think it is worth keeping him till the end of the season.

Ian Toon @6….. Now that sort of ambition will not compute with Ashley and Kinnear at the helm.

If we had a strong and credible DoF then there may be a chance that he’d be able to convince Ashley that prudent investment in and nurturing the talent we have will reap dividends.

As ut stands, we have a footballing dinosaur who’s long past his best, however poor his best may have been, as DoF. Kinneat is totally out of touch with the game at a high standard and the business of football in 2014.

He’s as much use as a rubber crutch and the sooner Ashley sells up and takes Kinnear with him, the better – provided he sells to someone who bad some ambition and sees the marketing potential for Newcastle United. After all, we don’t own the freehold of SJP so any property developer types won’t be interested and that’s a good start.

As far a Cabsye to ManU goes, we shouldn’t even be thinking about selling to a club we’re in competition with. Yes Chelsea sold Mata to them but Mourinho, like Wenger will only sell when he knows he has a better player on the books or has one lined up as a replacement. In other words, sell star players by all means but only if it’s in the interest of improvement. Do we show that sort of mentality under Ashley? No we are not. Selling appears to be nothing more than a means of raising some cash and that’s the difference between us and the likes of the so-called top clubs.
